The Official Unofficial Certificate of Authenticity has been printed up and the Bag of Wheat Pennies and Silver Ingot are ready for the best offer to come in, or maybe the best offer has come in and I need to make a decision. Maybe you can help me out with making a decision! Maybe there is something that was offered me that you just have to have and you want to make an offer for something I don't even have yet. Well enough rambling on, here is what has been offered to me this week:

The first offer that came in was for a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S111 Laptop. Not to bad.
a 19" color TV.
Lot of cash offers, up to $450 but I am commited to trading only. Very tempting though.

The Coin Stacking Picture of the Week

The trade has been completed. My wife and I drove down to Southern California’s wine country, Temecula, and meet up with Frank at one of the offices he works at. He greeted us with a huge smile and introduced us to all his co-workers, everyone was very nice.

Frank had waiting a huge bag filled with 30 pounds of wheat pennies on his desk along with a 10 oz Silver Ingot. This is my first time ever owning a bar of silver, very cool. Too bad it wasn’t a gold bar though, maybe my next trade. Anyway, we took some pictures, completed the trade with the official unofficial certificate of authenticity filled out and signed and then we were on our way to do some wine tasting.

We only had time to go to a few wineries but we saved the best for last, Wilson Creek. If you’re ever in the area, this is one of the best in Temecula, CA. There’s always a crowd so be sure to get there early or come on a week day. All their wines are nice but they have a special Almond Champagne. After you have completed the wine tasting you want to top it off with their chocolate port served in an edible chocolate shot glass. Mmmm… You drink it down about half way and then they fill it back up with Almond Champagne to make what they call an Almond joy! Very joyful I must say.

So since the trade has now been officially completed, I can now offer you 30 pounds of wheat pennies and a 10 oz Silver ingot. Let the offers begin.

Yes, that's right, I have accepted an offer! I received a lot of great offers for the Box of Skeleton Keys and it was very hard to decide on one to accept, but before I elaborate, I just want to say thanks to everyone that wanted to be part of my journey and sent me an offer. Even though I didn't accept your offer this time around I hope that all of you will still follow my progress and send in offers for another item you might like down the road.

A few weeks ago I received a call from Frank and he offered me 30 pounds of wheat pennies for the Box of Skeleton Keys. I was like "WOW" that sounds like a lot of money but I didn't want money, I wanted an item that could be traded. And these can be traded, they're wheat pennies, great for coin collectors, especially for someone that is just starting out, so I kept him in mind. There were a few other offers I was looking to pursue but they fizzled out. So a few days ago I called Frank up again and he wanted to sweeten the offer a little more and said he would also throw in a 10 oz Silver ingot. That sold me. This trade will attract all kinds of collectors from precious metals to coin collectors.

Sept. 26th, 2006 - The first news article of my journey was published today in the Concord Monitor a home town paper in Concord, NH. The article is titled "Trading a pocketful of lint for a house". This is a great start and much more media publicity to come.

I'm finally getting back to the grind since our trip back East. We had such a great time in New York, Boston and New Hampshire. We did so much in just a short time and walked more than I have ever walked before and then some, then we walked some more.

I crafted a new box for the Skeleton Keys, the cardboard box they were in didn't make the trip home that well. They're now pimping out in their own custom box with the official unofficial Certificate of Authenticity framed on the top of the box. It's looking very nice, so keep those offers rolling in.

We made it, we are here on the East Coast. My wife and I finally flew across the country to meet up with Chris here in New Hampshire to complete the second trade in my adventure. Only the start of a series of trades that I will be completing until I reach my goal, a House!

We met Chris at the Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill in Concord, NH near his home town. We got along great, had a great time and he even treated me and my wife to dinner. Thanks again Chris! It was really good barbeque, if you're ever in the area you should give them a try. After dinner Chris and I completed the trade, the 1776-1976 Bicentennial Silver Dollar for his box of Skeleton Keys, Random Old Keys and a Wolf Paperweight.

Alone there are 76 Skeleton Keys, many random keys (pictures available if you want to see them), and one wolf paperweight.

The Skeleton keys are amazing, they range from many sizes and shapes, with some solid and some hollow shafts, and one is even dated back to 1878. Email me if you have any questions about them and I will do my best to answer your questions.

New Hampshire, Boston and New York bound!

We finally got our tickets to fly back east. We will be flying into New York, (JFK airport) and then driving to New Hampshire to complete the second trade. I will be trading up with Chris, an electrician in a small town in NH, for his box of Skeleton Keys, Random Old Keys and a Wolf Paperweight. What a pain it has been to find a deal on airfare, the prices have been really high lately and I was hoping they would have come down after that foiled terrorist plot. The prices did finally drop but only for a few hours and by the time we figured out how many days we wanted to stay the price jumped back up. (These airlines are almost worse than the stock market, but I won't go there, my wife will kill me.) We finally found a deal and jumped on it before it went back up again, whew!

After we finish the trade with Chris in New Hampshire we are heading over to Boston for a few days and then down to NYC. It should be a lot of fun. We are going for a total of 5 days and 5 nights, hopefully that's enough time to see a few sights. If you know of something that we MUST do or see or maybe your favorite restaurant we should go to, please add a comment or send me an email at onepinchofpocketlint@gmail.com.

One thing for sure, we plan on going to Times Square for the 2006 Broadway on Broadway 15th annual FREE outdoor concert. The event will be hosted by Martin Short and will feature musical numbers and star appearances from almost every play and musical on Broadway, as well as sneak peeks at several upcoming shows scheduled for the 2006-07 theatre season. Should be a great show, and it's FREE!

Even though I don't have the Skeleton keys in hand just yet, I am still taking offers for them and it would work out great if I received an offer I could not refuse in Boston or NYC while I am out there. I know, you're probably saying, "it’s about time!" but I have been busy lately, I’ve been dealing with a Stalker, and that was like a full time job in itself. Also, I was waiting for the right trade to come along. The offer came from Chris and he sent such a great email I thought I would share it with all of you. It reads like this:

Even though trading up to a house has been done before, why not do it again, so what if it's been done, it's still an adventure every time that someone does something like this, be it for a car because they don't have one, or larger goals to get themselves a house. So I give you a great deal of credit for that.

But that's not why I decided to write, it was actually me wondering if you were staying in a particular section of the US to make trades or if you're traveling a-la oneredpaperclip did for all of their trades?

If you're willing to do trades all the way across the US, being in NH or east coast area ( Not meaning just traveling there, but if you'd be doing shipped items or not. I'd be willing to offer you a box of skeleton keys and other random keys that came from an old farmhouse that was being torn down when I was but a little kid. And if that isn't enough incentive, I'll throw in a wolf figure cast in a resin shell to be a paperweight.

There are thousands that where inspired by Kyle, the one red paperclip guy and many have started their own journeys and they all have there own spin on it. Even if it was the same idea exactly, the adventure will always be new and different. That said, I have accepted Chris’s offer and I am working on the arrangements to fly out to New Hampshire to complete my second trade. I will update this post with more details as they come in. STALKER!

I have a stalker! That's right a full fledge stalker, I feel like a celebrity. Thanks man, it feels great to be a celebrity but Please! No paparazzi! I don't think Kyle the one red paperclip guy ever had a stalker, he never mentioned it from what I recall. Kyle, you got your house but I gotts me a Stalker.

This stalker has followed me around from San Francisco to San Diego from The OC to Vegas. Anywhere I place an ad on CraigsList, he is there 10 minutes to an hour later posting 4 to 5 ads in a row, similar to mine but with little differences, saying he is the original silver dollar trader, he writes "I am the first one to do this and all the others are copying me so flag all these fakes" and on and on.

It started in the LA area CraigsList then moved to OC just littering the net with bogus ads. I tried to defend myself but that didn't help, it even made it worse. Then he started cussing at me. I tried to defend myself but he just used it as fuel for a major fire, then he crossed the line. He started using my email address and my web address and started cussing at people making it look like it was me in his ads. Wow, can you say "defamation of character". I have even had people defend me, posting to leave me alone, that I am just trying to have fun, but he thinks he knows my writing style and that it's just me pretending to be someone else. Nice try, but people can see right through you. It makes no sense for someone to post so many ads at once, all in a row when hours ago there was none to speak of.

This has been going on since July 27, 2006. This person has made a full time job out of this. Everyday I have to re-post my ad, because the previous ad was removed by people flagging it, thanks to him. The stalker is there with a vengeance to take me down! I am not sure what I did to deserve this sort of attention but I'm sort of flattered. Not everyday do you have a stalker.

He told me at first that the trade-up to a house has been done, he is referring to Kyle with the one red paperclip, that it was a novelty and it's old, and for me to be original.

Well, your stalking is getting old and even though it's not a novelty, it has been done and they all have paid the price. Not saying I am going to waste the money to prosecute you, the stalker, but one day you will piss off the wrong person and get what you deserve.

I think the only way to stop him is if I can find a attorney that will work pro bono. I will give free advertising on my blog for the life of the site, to subpoena CraigsList and get his information and serve him with a civil suit. I have been in contact with CraigsList but they can not give me his information with out a subpoena.

I would hate to take it that far but I feel bad for this person, they have no life, no future, no reason to live in society, maybe not even in a institution. It's pretty scary to think that there is such a person on earth like this.

Please send in your stalker horror stories; I would like to know if ordinary people, like myself, not famous, yet, have or have had a stalker.

Robert ran across my quest and offered a Brand New Sealed Mini Game System, BZ BlockZone, that comes with 8 games built in. Pretty cool.
Jeph would like to trade his Atari System with one controller and one game. Not sure what the deal is with everyone offering some kind of video game and or console but it's pretty funny. There's some good choices there.
Hallie has two pairs of once used Ski Pants made by Utility size XL she would like to trade.
Sheila has several items to choose from that she offered, from a RC PT Cruiser to a Maraca.

What does a 1976 Silver Dollar get you these days? Well... a soon to be famous Lint Monster of course! That's right, July 26, 2006 marks the day my One Pinch of Pocket Lint was traded to Launa Brock for her 1976 Silver Dollar. We met Launa and Dennis Brock in Irvine, CA at a bakery to make the first trade. They were such a nice couple, they even gave us a card with the poem above written in it (card and coin pictured below). They got the silver dollar in Las Vegas 17 years ago, they had run off to Vegas to elope. Believe it or not they were married on April fool's day but their marriage was no joke, they are still happily married after 17 years. It felt great to finally get the first trade under my belt and it couldn't have been with nicer people.

So does the trading stop here? Nope, that's just the beginning of a long journey and a series of trades to come, to eventually reach my goal, a house!

This is off topic but it's worth hearing about it now than later. You might be getting emails soon circulating about "The Red Planet (Mars) is about to be spectacular! This month and next..." or come across a website, like I did last night, to "Mark your calendar throughout the month of August, but especially …August, 27th, 2006","This month and next, Earth will catch up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. Now this all sounds great, I would love to see this but I then googled it to try to find out more about this and came across this site Snopes.com:

OK, it's not a real Certificate of Authenticity but I had to jazz the Lint up a bit before I traded it off. I didn't want to just dig in my pocket and pull out and hand over my Lint Monster without it safe and secure in a capsule or something. Someone could really get hurt with a Lint Monster on the loose if it was not contained.

Hi, my name is George. I was inspired by the one red paperclip guy, Kyle MacDonald. I'm not sure why I never heard his story before last week, when I did I was floored. The funny thing is he seems to be exactly like me, always thinking of ways to make it in this world, this time he did, I Congratulate him. Nice job Kyle! Ring me up any time.

I have a lot of time on my hands so I thought, what the heck, I'm going to give my idea a try. What do I have to loose? Oh wait, I can loose my lint monster. Oh well, I guess eventually I will find another.

I kicked a few ideas around and my brother hit it on the head. The only thing in my pocket at the time, One Pinch of Pocket Lint! I will be up-trading to something from practically nothing. This soon to be famous Lint Monster, that's what I like to call it, will be up-traded to a soon to be famous person, just for something of a little more value. But wait, it won't stop there. I know it's not much but that's all I have in my pocket at the moment. I won't bore you with a trialsome life long story filled with up and down times and all that stuff, hoping to get someone to do something nice for me. I just want to see if I can trade up to something great for my little lint monster.

I want to trade the Lint Monster, as I like calling it, for something better, something worth more, something that still has value but maybe not to you. If we agree on the trade I promise to meet you in person anyway or fashion. I will travel to your home, your place of business, a coffee shop in your area, meet you half way, maybe you're planning a trip to Southern California and we could meet at Disneyland or we could meet at my place. Anyway you want, we then will make the trade. So start sending me offers to trade for a soon to be famous Lint Monster. This Lint Monster needs a good home.

So is that the end of the line once the trade is done, a Lint Monster for something we traded? Nope, I then will be trading my new item for something of a little more value, then trading that for something a little better until I reach my goal. A house!
