Sew Simple Challenge

I have used they're Noahs Ark Digi which I just had to have. My youngest is called Noah and although his birthday isn't till August I have made him this card.

I have hand stitched on the card, coloured the image in with coloured pencils as I wanted a soft colour, then added buttons and 6mm clear gems.

Fancy Feather Dress Project

FANCY FEATHER DRESS

For This Project, You Will Need:

Equipment:

Scissors

12” Rule

Craft Knife

Pencil

Bone Folder

Materials:

1 Sheet 12” x 12” Bazzill Basics Paper – Bright Lights

1 x A4 Sheet Kanban Sakura “Blossom” Background Paper

Piece of Gold Mirror Card (8.5cm x 20cm)

Small Piece of Scrap White Card

Pack of 2.5mm Stick On Diamonte Gems – Gold

1 Yellow Marabou Feather

Gold Fine Line Border Peel-Off

Gold “Happy Birthday” Peel-Off

Silicone Adhesive

Double-Sided Tape

Glue Stick

Method:

1. Cut a piece of the Bazzill Basics card, measuring 19.5cm x 21cm and fold in half to make a DL sized card.

2. Cut a piece of gold mirror card, measuring 8.5cm x 20cm and apply to the front of the card, using double-sided tape.

3. Cut a piece of the Bazzill Basics card to measure 7.5cm x 19cm and apply on top of the gold layer, using double-sided tape.

4. To make the bodice for the dress, take a piece of the “Blossom” background paper and draw a basic bodice shape, measuring approximately 6cm high x 4cm wide.

5. Apply the bodice shape to a piece of scrap white card, using a glue stick and cut out.

6. Apply the fine line border peel-off to the edges of the bodice, leaving the top edge clear.

7. Apply gold diamonte gems across the top of the bodice, as shown, and if you have any part of the floral design showing on the bodice, apply a single gem to the centre.

8. Apply the yellow marabou feather to the front of the card, using silicone adhesive. The very top of the feather needs to be applied about one-third of the way down the card.

9. Using a bone-folder, gently curve the bodice and apply near the top of the feather, using silicone adhesive.

10. Apply the “Happy Birthday” peel-off to the top left-hand corner of the card, as shown.

11. Apply gold stick on gems to the corners of the card, as shown.

Joy Fold Get Well Soon Card

I have made this card using a joy fold tutorial from SPS which can be found here. It is so easy to make and looks really effective.

I have used 12 x 12 mic scrapbook kit, pearls, ivory hammer card and a petite rose to finish. I have found that I use the same shaped card alot so I am trying some new techniques and I must say I'm having fun.

Gone Fishing Card Project

Gone Fishing Again’ Card

To make this card you will need;

‘For Him’ stamp set by Cathy Curd
Witch Hazel Bazzill Card
Silver Mirror Card
Mosaic Woodland-Cloud Ivy Paper
White Card
Embroidery Thread
Acetate
Double Sided Tape
Double Sided Foam Pads
Colouring Medium of your choice
Black Ink Pad
Ruler
Scissors
Craft Knife

Instructions

First make your card.
Cut a piece of from Witch Hazel card measuring 15cm x 10.5cm. Fold the shorter edges together.

1) Stamp out the fisherman and gone fishing images, colour and cut round as close as you can with a craft knife. Cut away the string on the gone fishing image. Stamp the ‘it’s your birthday…’ message.
2) Cut 3 pieces from Mirror card measuring 10cm x 7cm and
Cut 3 pieces from Cloud Ivy paper measuring 9cm x 6 cm
3) Using double-sided tape stick Mirror card to front and both the middle parts of the card. Stick Cloud Ivy paper on top of the Mirror card on the front of your card. Open the card and repeat on the left hand side.
4) Stick your birthday message onto some Cloud Ivy paper, cut around leaving a small edge and repeat on the mirror card. Add some embroidery thread to the top of the Gone Fishing sign. Hang over birthday message and stick using double-sided tape to the front of your card. I have added two foam double-sided pads to the back of the wood sign to hold it in place.
5) Open your card out. Write your message onto a piece of Bazzill card and stick onto left hand side.
6) Cut a strip of Acetate measuring 6.5cm x1.5cm. Make a flap at each end measuring 1.5cm. Stick one of the flaps to the middle of the back of the Cloud Ivy paper and stick on top of the mirror card on right hand side. Stick the flap on the other end of acetate to the back of the fisherman image. It should fit between the mans shoulder blades. This will make your image ‘pop’ out when the card is opened. Decorate inside of card.

To make this card you will need;

‘For Him’ Stamp Set by Clare Curd
Square White Card 13.5cmx13.5cm
White Card to stamp on
London Fog Bazzill Card
Artic Frog ‘Silk Shirt By The Sea’ Paper
Stick On Gems
Double-sided Tape
Double-sided Foam Pads
Colouring Medium of your choice
Black Ink Pad
Optional- Fluid Chalk in creamy brown
Equipment;
Ruler
Craft knife
Instructions
1) Stamp Fisherman on to white card, colour and cut around image so it measures 6.5cmx9cm.
2) From Bazzill card cut the following;
1 square measuring 13cmx13cm
2 strips measuring 1.5cmx13cm
1 strip measuring 3.5cmx13cm
1 rectangle measuring 7cmx9.5cm
3) From Artic Frog paper cut a square measuring 12.5cmx12.5cm and stick to the centre of Bazzill square.
5) Stick the wider strip of the Bazzill card to the centre and the smaller ones about 1.5cm from the top and bottom.
6) Stick finished square to card front.
7) If using fluid chalk ink around edge of image and stick to remaining piece of Bazzill card, with foam pads. Using double-sided tape stick onto card front.
8) Stamp ‘Top Guy’ onto white card, cut around. Ink around edges using fluid chalk Cut a rectangle slightly bigger from Artic Frog paper and stick using foam pads. Stick directly onto card using double-sided tape.
9) Decorate with Stick on Gems.

BUNNY LOVE CARD

For This Project, You Will Need:

Equipment:

Scissors

12” Metal Rule

Pencil

Craft Knife

Materials:

1 Sheet A4 Lime Green Card

1 Sheet A4 Yellow Card

1 Sheet A4 Yellow Paper

1 Set Daisy & Dandelion Clear Stamps – Candyfloss & Marshmallow

50cm Length of Polka Dot Ribbon – Yellow

2.5cm Stick-On Diamonte Gems - Gold

Brown Ink Stamp Pad

Colouring Pencils

Straight Gold Fine Line Border Peel-Offs

Gold “With Love” Peel-Off

Double-Sided Tape

Silicone Adhesive

Method:

1. Fold the A4 yellow card in half.

2. Open out the card and lightly mark in pencil 2cm and 3.5cm from the bottom of the card. Using a sharp craft knife, cut a slit between these two points.

3. Cut a piece of the polka dot ribbon 23cm long. Thread one end through the slit and fold the other end around to the inside of the card. Fix both ends to the inside of the card, using double-sided tape.

4. With the remaining ribbon, form a bow and attach, as shown, using silicone adhesive.

5. Cut a piece of the apple green card, measuring 13cm x 15cm and apply to the yellow card, using double-sided tape and leaving a 1cm border at the top and either side of the card.

6. Cut a piece of the yellow paper, measuring 11cm x 13cm.

7. Stamp the bunny image onto the yellow paper, using the brown ink stamp pad. Colour the image, using colouring pencils or medium of your choice.

8. Apply the coloured image on top of the green layer, using double-sided tape.

9. Apply gold diamonte gems to the corners, as shown, and add one gem to the centre of the daisy.

10. Apply straight gold fine line border peel-offs and gold “With Love” peel-off, as shown.

Challenge 68 'A Wall Hanging'

This weeks challenge has been set by the lovely Gina and she wants all you talented crafters to create a wall hanging.

I think a wall hanging is a great gift, just make a card, scrapbook page etc but make it so it can be hung up.

It is my little sisters 21st next month so I have made my wall hanging for her.

I thought it would be rather nice to give her a keepsake rather than a card.

I hope she likes it lol, the picture was taken last year when we had a lovely day out in York and went to the York Castle Museum.

The sentiment is from one of my fridge magnets lol. I have loved making this card, I used a sizzix texture to create the textured floral background, added a couple of buttons. The gingham ribbon is from my shop (I love my work lol). I found this lovely little digi free online ;-) and coloured with my pro markers.

Daisy and Dandelion Stamp Project

Materials:
Daisy & Dandelion Clear Stamp Set
A4 Brilliant White 300gsm Card (cut and creased to 145mm square)
A4 Card 220gsm Lavender
A4 Weave Effect Pearlescent Paper Lavender
12 x 12 Lavender Floral Paper
12 x 12 Lavender French Floral Paper
Irridescent Spot Ribbon Lilac
12mm Double Sided Tape
2.5mm Clear Stick on Gems
Papermania White Pearls

Time to make card: 30 - 45 minutes

First use the off cut from the card blank to stamp the image onto and leave to dry.

Take the pearlescent weave effect paper and cut to 139mm square and using the double sided tape adhere to your card blank.

Take the two sheets of 12 x 12 paper and cut to 80mm square. Adhere to the card to create a background. I have lined mine up diagonally.

Colour the stamped image using your favourite medium, cut out and stick to the lavender card to create a nice border.

Adhere this then to your card, I put mine in the top right hand corner with the patterned paper showing to the left.

Take the ribbon and wrap around the card, closest to the creased edge. Tie in a neat knot and cut the ends at an angle.

Using some more scrap card left from your card blank, stamp one of the sentiments on and when dry stick to your card.

Embellish with flowers, gems or pearls to finish.

I have made this card for 2 challenges. First I used a sketch from Sketches {by Tamara}. I loved this sketch it was so simple to use.

I can also enter this into the Pile it on Challenge, they want to see flowers. At PaperPlay Challenges the theme is Birthday for Someone Special, so mine is for a special friend. At Crafty Creations the challenge is 'Friends'.

One Stop Craft Challenge 67 - A Sketch

This week over on the OSCC blog it is the lovely Chrissies turn to set the challenge and she has done a lovely sketch.

This is my take on the sketch, I have made a wedding card. The stamps used are just Dovecraft Value Clear Stamps, cheap as chips at only £1.56 yet create a lovely modern image.

Another 2 Challenges

Well I'm getting into the swing with these challenges. I am having great fun making all these cards and Noah is enjoying helping me too. Although this morning Noah wanted to cut an unmounted stamp in half and got rather upset when I said noooooooo. He is happy again now after a scone and a drink of juice, lol.

So I have made 2 cards so far this morning, the first is for 365 Cards, the challenge today is keep it simple. One stamped image using one colour and adding one embellishment. I have used a rudolf stamp and added a red pearl.

My second card is for Digital Tuesday and the challenge is... 'It's all about the animals'.

I have used a digi stamp I found online of a rather cute pig. I have used various pink backing papers and added some pearls and flowers.

One Stop Craft Challenge 66 ' Colour Challenge'

Well I am a little late at posting the details of this weeks OSCC as my lovely hubby took me away for the weekend. It is the first time we have been away as a couple and kid free for 8 years and it was heaven.

I missed the kids loads but I certainly needed the break. It was also the first time in 3 years that I have been away without my laptop, lol!!! We stayed in Ripon (North Yorkshire) at a lovely hotel, on Saturday went to Mother Shiptons Cave and it was fab seeing how things turned to stone. Then went to Ripley Castle yesterday which was so peaceful and the deer were beautiful.

Anyway enough about my weekend and on to this weeks challenge.

We have a new challenge set by our lovely Suzi and she has chosen to do a colour theme......

Apple Green, Chocolate and Clotted Cream

The Rainbow Lady Challenge

I put my name forward on a previous challenge and was over the moon and honoured when Cynthia emailed to ask me to be GDT and to choose a challenge. Anyway onto the theme I have chosen for the challenge....

'The Four Seasons'

This can be seasonal images or colours.

I have chosen to do summer as this has to be my favourite season. I have used the same image and made two cards. I have used different colours on each card as I couldn't decide between the 2 colours I wanted to use. I think the pink looks warm and summery, where as the blue creates a tranquil feel.

A Card for Two Challenge's

I have made this card for two challenges. The first is a lovely new challenge blog that i came across called Just Cute Bears.There is a new challenge every Sunday and all they ask is you use a bear along with the weeks theme.

Just cute bears, first challenge is "One For The Girls" I hope my bear card is girly enough :-)

The layout I used is a sketch for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge. There is an optional extra to use faux or real stitching on your card.
