I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again... just kidding, I know when I'll be back (Memorial Day) but I really am leaving on a jet plane tomorrow. We are flying to San Juan Puerto Rico and then taking a cruise through the South Caribbean for a week. In addition to San Juan, which I'm really excited to see, we are going to St. Thomas, St. John, Barbados, St.

Thursday Thrills

I've been on the hunt for the perfect runner for our hallway since we moved in last summer. I'm not a huge fan on the Cherry floors (little too red for my taste) and we can't throw Frank's toys for him without him sliding down the hallway like a baseball player sliding into home. Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is finally here. We leave on vacation next Saturday so naturally, this week and the next will drag. Fortunately, we are in for a really fun weekend, so hopefully the time will pass quickly. My parents are coming to stay with us this weekend to celebrate Mother's Day. We have a picnic planned, a trip to Pike Place to scoop up my mom some flowers,

Thursday Thrills

As the temperatures rise (think 80 degrees plus), I have to push myself more and more to make an effort to look put together. Instead of putting thought into my outfit, I'd rather put thought into how I can score a slushie and a fan, stat. Happy weekend! It's here! I run my first race tomorrow, a 5 mile trail run, and then am meeting a friend for a much needed afternoon of pampering. Though that means I'll miss the derby festivities, I fully plan on enjoying Cinco de Mayo on Sunday - margaritas and churros, here I come! Do you not just love how this weekend has two reasons to have parties? In my opinion, there is nothing more challenging than transitioning from winter to summer fashion. The transition from layers of wool and leather, all in black, to a bohemian sun goddess is not a smooth one. Thankfully we have the Spring season to figure it out through trial and error. If you asked me five years ago what I thought about black framed windows, I would have looked at you like you were crazy and/or gothic but as I've seen countless homes done with dark framed windows, and done well, my mind has been changed. They look best against light colored walls and dark floors, which

Happy Weekend! // Links Loved

Is it really already Friday?! This week seemed to fly by. After spending last weekend out of town, this weekend will be all about playing catch up, cleaning, laundry, etc. But we'll balance out the work with a baseball game tonight, maybe a weekend brunch, and a visit from some of our college friends. Any fun plans? Enjoy!

Today is supposed to be Seattle's second day over 70 degrees this year (don't judge if you live in a warmer climate) and I can't wait to break out my summer work wear. Open toed heels, dresses, easy silk blouses... I can't wait. The only way I could be more excited to get dressed? Sorry for the radio silence yesterday. I ended up going south for the weekend and staying longer than expected, and of course, forgot my computer! Anyways, I want to talk about Lulu Frost for J.Crew today, surely a collaboration we are all familiar with. Taking bold costume jewelry to a whole new level, Lulu Frost pieces are an investment, yes, but a worthy one. Happy Friday! What a week it has been. I just want to start this post by saying that the events of my own life seemed trivial compared to what else was going on in the country so I'd rather focus on a bigger message this week.

Two terrible tragedies hit the U.S. this week, resulting in the death and injury of many innocent men, women, and children. Families lost loved ones and

Hold The Scissors

There are days I hate my hair. Okay, most days. It's extremely thick, is a strange mixture of both coarse and fine, is full of split ends, and takes forever to style. On the average day when I blow out my hair and straighten it, it takes me about half an hour to do my hair, which means a half hour of having my blow dryer and straightener on, resulting in a bathroom

Shopbop Sale // How to Priortize

It's that time again! Shopbop is having their Friends & Family sale, meaning 20 percent off sitewide. Before you instantly dash to the side and start spending, let me impart a little sale strategy on you: focus on buying classic pieces that don't ever go on sale before anything else. For example, over the last couple Shopbop sales, I've scored two pairs of Rag & Bone Newbury boots (in black

Living Room Sources

Happy Friday! This week seemed to fly. Between work and Crossfit every night (yes, I'm crazy), Friday seemed to show up in a blink. High point of my week? Signing up for my frist race! I signed up for a 5 mile trail run the first weekend in May. To be honest, I've never done a trail run so I'm curious to see how it goes. We'll be climbing 750 feet

Four Fab Beach Tote Options Under $250
