{Autumn Drink} Signature Cocktail

Creating your own signature cocktail it’s a great way to add a personal touch to any event. The perfect signature drink can coordinate with the event’s mood, colors, season and theme. You can even have fun with it and name your cocktail!

I think a Pomegranate Martini will align well with an autumn event. Check out the delish recipe below!

Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
– 2 ounces Absolute Citron vodka or white tequila
– 1 ounce Cointreau liquor
– Cup of ice
– Splash of sparkling water (optional)
– Squeeze of lemon (optional)

Directions:
Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish.

Free! First Day of School Signs

My oldest son begins preschool this Monday. He is super excited about it. My parents had the tradition of taking pictures of me and sisters on the first day of school. I plan to carry on that tradition with my kids. I designed these fun 1st day of school signs to go along with the pictures. The signs include nursery school up to twelfth grade. You can also modify the school year and child’s age.

Endless Summer…

Even though we still have some time left before summer is officially over, we wanted to share with you some inspiration just in case you are planning an “End of Summer” celebration.

We designed this entire party around the watermelon color palette–pinks, reds, greens and creme for a great summer feel. Snacks included tomato, basil & mozzarella crostinis, BLT sandwiches, and baked mac & cheese. The table featured apple & watermelon sailboats, watermelon bites topped with fluff cream cheese and mint, and refreshing melon skewers. The party also included pink cupcakes with chocolate chips, watermelon iced cookies, and paper cones filled with cotton candy and popcorn.

A handmade paper bouquet decorated the center of the table. And, our “End of Summer” party collection printables brought everything together.

We poured watermelon and raspberry punch into an hallowed out watermelon to add a great statement piece.

The cake was pink-colored vanilla with mini chocolate chips to give the seeded effect of a watermelon (when sliced). It was also decorated with the very popular green ombre look.

One of the reasons we love our “End of Summer” Printable Collection is because it can be used on many special occasions–from a pool party to a fun birthday party. The collection is available in our SHOP now.

DIY: Fabric Ombre Garland

The ombre style has been gaining huge popularity recently and I can see why! I love the light to dark gradient effect. I’ve mostly seen this ombre style used on hair, but I must say that I’m super excited Ashley from Under the Sycamore shared this fun DIY tutorial showing us that this ombre style isn’t just for hair anymore.

In this tutoral, Ashley shows us how to take a twin size sheet and easily turn it into a beautiful ombre garland by simply cutting it into strips, tying the strips onto a cord and dyeing them. I really love how the color pops on the fabric. She’s using hers for a baby shower she’s hosting, but you can customize this garland for any occasion!

This is just one of the many ways you can use this ombre garland!
