FAQ

If you restore the Menindee Lakes will Broken Hill take
it’s water from there again?

With the $500m pipeline form, the Murray to Broken Hill completed, we suggest continuing to use that for Broken Hill critical human water, with the Menindee Pipeline as a fallback.

This increases the water available to sustain communities
between Menindee and Wentworth.

What about the Overland Water Project

A: As we mentioned, there are many river systems in the
basin that are parched, landlocked strings of billabongs. This means they
only connect with the MDB in times of flood. The CEWH seems to have trouble
with the concept of ‘sharing’ and without due consultation, has proposed an
unscientific, unprofessional grab for irrigation water for the environment (SDL
acquisition). Then they want to waste that precious water by flooding it over
the dry land bridge to force it into the Darling then the Murray, and
ultimately into the Coorong.

This process means the CEWH planning on using water that rural communities are desperate to create a man-made flood, in a drought, to force northern water down the Murray to flush out the Coorong. We would not need to do that if we hadn’t built the drains to send Coorong’s water into the southern ocean in the first place.

One Nation will put a stop to this program.

You are spending a lot of money.

We are spending half of the remaining $6 billion in the MDB
fund, and expect to be able to return the other half to taxpayers.

So the Environment does not get any more water?

Not true. The drains project will return 500 – 600GL a year
on average into the MDB, which the Coorong is a part of. One Nation cannot see
that the environment needs any more than that.

Remember the environmental water that was already in the basin at the start of the plan was never counted in environmental water. All that water NSW was sending into the Macquarie and Gwydir wetlands was treated as though it did not exist. However, the environment is still getting that water plus the 2082gl so far in SDL acquisitions plus another 500gl from the drains. The real figure for environmental flows is probably over 10,000GL when you include rainfall directly onto non-farm land. That is enough.

Is 500GL enough to restore the Coorong to its natural state

The Coorong only holds an average 200GL of water in total. The lower Coorong, which is now hyper-saline, holds between 80GL and 120GL depending on the time of year. 500gl is enough to restore the Coorong of Storm Boy. South Australia will benefit from the tourism and fishing that this will bring.

Explain the northern environmental water buyback

Early in the MDB acquisitions, the Government purchased 450GL in the northern basin for the environment. This water was not needed. The NSW Government at the time was already using 72% of water in the area for environmental purposes, wetlands like the Macquarie and Gwydir wetlands were already healthy.

Perhaps Water Minster Wong did not realise that the northern
basin only flows into the Darling River in times of flood. Most years the
northern rivers terminate in the Macquarie Marshes. That 450GL of environmental
water is a stranded asset. The CEWH is creating new wetlands just to use
it up. Now they are suggesting the overland water project to flood that water
over into the Darling. This will use up most of the water in seepage and
evaporation and is a really bad idea.

One Nation calls on the Minister to admit their error. It is time to cease destroying the dryland environment to create wetlands that do not exist and to restore 200GL of that water to irrigators.

Are you sure about the Lower Lakes?

We spent a great deal of time getting to the bottom of the science of the lower lakes. Studies of marine organisms and sediment cores prove the lakes were saline. However, this is not as many people think, permanently a mix of fresh and salt.

The lakes alternated between fresh and salt. The flow from the Murray/Darling kept the lakes mostly fresh. In times of extended drought, the rivers ran dry and seawater came in, causing the lower lakes to be saline. In the transition periods, the lakes had freshwater plumes on top of saltwater.

We will never restore the flow to the lakes to ensure they are 100% fresh. That would require closing down agriculture and rural communities across the basin. South Australia also uses this water, indeed Adelaide is the only capital city that takes its water from the Murray. The truth is everyone is using the water and no-one is able to give up more than they have now.

That means the lower lakes have to be put back to their
natural estuarine state as a last resort in severe drought. It would be
irresponsible to not plan for that should this drought, or the next one, exceed
the capacity of the basin to keep the rivers flowing.

This involves building lock zero above Wellington to protect
Adelaide’s water supply at all costs. We will also build an irrigation canal
around the lakes drawing from lock zero, so farmers around the lakes can access
irrigation water.

One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson has announced a new push to rescue Australia’s dairy industry.

Speaking with Alan Jones and Peta Credlin on Sky News, Senator Hanson outlines a plan to table legislation that would ensure Australia’s struggling dairy farmers were paid a fair farm gate price for their milk.

This follows One Nation’s efforts in September last year to have the Senate agree to a series of measures to protect our dairy industry from further damage. These rescue measures were put to the Senate in a formal motion and called on the Federal Government to provide immediate additional financial support to dairy farmers who cannot feed their herds and regulate the price of milk per litre paid by processors to dairy farmers to ensure a viable dairy industry.

Sadly, One Nation’s proposal to save the dairy industry was rejected by the combined efforts of the Liberals, the Nationals and Labor.

Since last September, the state of Australia’s dairy industry has continued to worsen, yet the Government has failed to take any steps to protect the industry from ruin.

One Nation will be pushing this issue hard next week, its time the other parties were forced to acknowledge the destruction caused by their lack of action.

For those of you who have had it up to the back teeth with the hysterical climate change activists who have been causing chaos across the country, we have some good news!

One Nation is calling for them to be locked up.

While we strongly support free speech and the rights of Australians to engage in non-violent protested, we believe these protesters have crossed the line.

Your right to free speech does not give you the right to glue yourself to the road, block peak hour traffic and not face serious consequences.

If limp-wristed state Governments continue to allow this kind of nonsense, it is only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured.

It is crazy to think we even have to spell that out.

If you ever get the feeling the media is trying to convince you the day is night or that the grass is blue and the sky is green, you are not alone.

The media’s coverage of the so-called “outrage” that followed the announcement that One Nation had secured a comprehensive inquiry into our failing family law system is a crystal clear example of how they attempt to bend the truth.

Fortunately, Sky News presenter Chris Kenny took the time to compile an excellent segment that laid bare the shocking extent of the media spin on this issue.

Kenny’s segment included one “expert” which argued on the ABC that Senator Hanson’s claim that some women were lying about family law matters to get more favourable outcomes was quickly disproven by an Australian study which showed up to 14% of accusations of domestic violence heard by the family law courts were false.

Don’t believe us? Then you might want to check out the segment in full and see for yourself.

One of the most frequently broken promises you will see from Coalition Governments surrounds cutting immigration.

They used to be able to get away with it because the Greens and Labor are all for their mass migration policies, but not anymore.

Especially not in NSW where One Nation’s Rod Roberts is holding their feet to the fire.

If you want to see the face of a guilty man, then take a look at this video of Rod calling out the NSW government over their failed pledge to cut migration.

While other parties often seek to keep the public in the dark One Nation wants you to see how the sausage is made.

Often One Nation members will go out of their way to explain exactly how things work and why a piece of legislation passed or failed, something the other parties often loath to do. This was precisely the case with One Nation’s push for an inquiry into excessive red tape in Western Australia.

Championed by One Nation’s WA leader Colin Tincknell, the inquiry would have been a broad investigation into how red tape could be cut in order to free up business and create jobs.

You would think this should be a no brainer, but the Labor party ultimately torpedoed the move.

Colin made sure he shared the full details of the inquiry with the public, which you can see here:

He also went out of his way to explain to people exactly how the process unfolded:

RED TAPEIf you would like to watch the debate on the Red Tape motion we have proposed you can do by clicking this link…
Posted by Colin Tincknell MLC on Tuesday, September 17, 2019

One of the most underrated roles of One Nation is how we force the other parties to put their cards on the table over issues no one else will.

When there is a vote with One Nation on one side and all the rest on the other, we don’t see that as a loss, we see it as a victory, because now you know where the other parties stand.

There is nothing the other parties hate more than being forced to tell the people what they really think!

To view the whole debate, head over to the Parliament of Western Australia by clicking the button below. (Fast forward to 06:05 minutes)

Climate Change alarmists like to wheel out children such as Greta Thunberg to peddle their climate change lies behind a shield of youth and emotion.

But nothing stops a lie dead in its tracks like some cold hard facts. And that is what exactly what Robin Scott delivered, one after another, in a devastating rebuttal of the claim that those who dare refute the alarmist’s garbage do so without the facts on their side.

Much to the dismay of the Greens across the floor, the list of facts, figures and situations Robin delivered in his speech grew faster than the pacific island of Tuvalu!

So next time someone tells you the “science is settled” show them this speech from Robin and maybe suggest if they are after some facts, don’t take your talking points from 16-year-old children.

Finally this week we have to applaud Stephen who is currently the only One Nation MP holding a lower house seat for his staunch opposition to Labor’s shocking Reef Bill.

Stephen has fought tooth and nail to try and get the major parties to see sense. He even had experts come to Queensland parliament house and put forward the facts about how damaging this bill will be and how little impact it will have.

But when the other parties, for whatever reason, decided to keep their heads buried in the sand, sometimes all you can do is stand up and let them have it.

And in usual One Nation Fashion, that is what Stephen did. He slammed Labor and the LNP for ushering in another piece of legislation that runs rough and should override the desires of those who have been working in harmony with the land for generations.

As Stephen rightfully points out, this Bill delivers nothing but “white-collar welfare” to those who don’t need it and put more restrictions on those already hurting.

One thing can be sure though, as soon as One Nation gets the chance, this Bill and hundreds of others like it will be headed straight to the scrap heap.

Thanks to Stephen the people of Queensland know where we stand on these issues, and it is thanks to One Nation supporters across the country, that one day soon, we might have the ability to put things right.
