Headbands - the latest trend in the hair accessory department.

Well, thanks to the girls of Gossip Girl especially Blair Waldorf (see below), the headband trend has hit Philippine shores.

See, even Bianca Gonzales is following the trend.

So anyways, I was looking at some of my old photos and found what might have been the inspiration for Blair Waldorf's style.

I was with my best friend Joni practically the whole day yesterday. She asked me to go with her as she fixes and gets her SSS ID, TIN card, Philhealth card, and renews her NBI certificate. That's a lot and I doubt that we'd be able to finish all those in one day.

Well, I was right. She was only able to accomplish two - SSS and NBI. It was just too hot yesterday that we decided to stay in the mall and watch a movie. Joni's treat! Yipeee!!! :)

It may be a bit too late as the hype's gone down, but we still decided to see Ironman. Joni's brother has been raving about it, so we thought we'd see it for ourselves. Joni's actually a bit surprised that I didn't watch Ironman with Tap.. Tap & I were actually busy lately that we don't have time to go on a movie date. :)

The movie was great althought I felt it would have been better if there were more action scenes in the movie hehe! I now adore uhmm no erase that.. I now HEART Tony Starks. I just find him too cool.

We didn't know that there's still a bit after the credits.. We just had to go to the restroom after we saw the credits rolled up. Too bad we didn't see that scene :(

Anyhow, we stayed even after the movie to watch trailers of upcoming movies. There's just to many good movies to watch out for. I'm so thrilled!!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
(I've always loved Indiana Jones even as a kid. I just think that Harrison Ford is still as hot as ever! :p)

Kung Fu Panda
(Saw the trailer. It was funny. The Panda's adorable. Therefore I'll watch it.)

Sex and the City
(Another girl bonding movie)

The Dark Knight
(I admit, I'll watch this mainly because I want to see how dark & depressing Heath Ledger's character is :'( )

I think Indiana Jones is up this week.. I can't wait to see it!

Online-Shopaholic

I've been busy lately with a lot of things and that explains why I don't get to post often here. Anyhoo, let me tell you what's keeping me busy lately. :)

Just last week, I've re-opened my online shop, Online-Shopaholic. This business started last year, but due to some personal matters I had to attend to, I had to close down my shop first, well at least temporarily.

Now that I'm working from home and I can manage my own time, I've decided to re-open my shop. The entrepreneurial spirit in me never really died down. I have lots of plans for my shop like designing it, creating my custom CSS for the site, looking for more things to sell, advertising, promoting my site, looking for prospective dealers, and a whole lot more! :) I could go on and on haha!

Puerto Galera

Last April 29 and 30, I was with Tap in Puerto Galera. It was a looooong trip going to Puerto. I was kinda worried about the 1-hour boat ride to reach Puerto Galera.. good thing the sea was very calm. I didn't get sea sick woohooo!!

It was a great place.. the beach was not too crowded and the water was great for swimming. Sarap mag-swim. But most of all, the trip was great because I was with Tap and not even the white sand beach of Puerto Galera can beat that. We're definitely going back. Well maybe we'll try Boracay next time. :)

The Antipolo Getaway

It all started with some not so serious planning. If you recall in one of my previous post, you'll understand why we weren't so serious in planning our summer getaway. Well, our not so crystal clear plan pushed through and we are so happy. :D

We bought our food and other baon the same day as our outing. Mas okay pa ata ang hindi masyadong planned...mas natutuloy. :)

Back from Antipolo

Whew! I'm back from Antipolo with my best friends. Finally one of our planned summer getaways pushed through. I'm still having a bit of a headache due to lack of sleep. I'll update my post later with our pictures. :)

Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny

It was too hot yesterday to stay at home so Tap and I decided to meet up in Megamall. Inspired by the latest McDonald's commercial, Tap suddenly blurted out "Uy bangs, pa-burger ka naman! Burger burger!" Hahaha! Well he ended up buying burger and fries for us plus choco fudge sundae for himself. :)

Tap thought the reason we went to the mall was to just stroll at magpalamig. But what he didn't know was that I also wanted to look for the perfect swimwear for our Galera trip and for my summer outing with my bestest friends. Nyuk nyuk!

After trying on different swimwear from different stores, I finally found the perfect one. I got it from Tomato.

Oooohh!! I can't wait for our summer getaways! =)

Hold The Wheel and DRIVE!

It's been a while since I last drove our car. The scaredy-cat in me still makes me not want to go out and drive in the streets of Manila alone. Boo hoo! Yesterday, I took refresher driving lessons courtesy of my ever kind cousin, Kuya Dennis. I was really scared at first and thought that I'd already forgotten the driving lessons I took last summer. My hands and feet were sweating non-stop! Eww!

So Kuya Dennis drove around first while giving me tips.. I think this is more of a warm-up before he gets out of the driver's seat and make me drive. To my surprise, I still know how to drive!! Woohoo! I just get pretty scared though when it's too traffic and I have to squeeze in my car in the too narrow streets of Metro Manila. I need someone to look at the sides and tell me if I won't hit the cars beside me..huhu that's why I can't drive alone. I need more more more practice!

Another thing I'm scared of is when my car gets caught in traffic while going up on a flyover. I failed my hanging lesson last summer. And even after hours of practice, I still can't get it sob! It's either I press too much on the accelerator, or I release my clutch too much. I think I need an automatic car haha!

Kuya Dennis told me we'll practice everyday this week.. but I might skip practice later. My legs hurt and I think it's because of lack of exercise and the driving session we had yesterday caused leg muscles strain. Or maybe I'm just making up excuses to not drive... NOT! :)

Lately I'm finding myself more and more addicted to one of ABS-CBN's primetime show, Lobo. Well, aside from Piolo Pascual's in it (harhar!), I like the storyline and how it makes you think what happens next. Read more here to get a primer.

Some thoughts on the soap:

Angel Locsin's acting has tremendously improved.
Shaina Magdayao's monotonous dialogue throughout the show is slowly getting in on my nerves!
I wonder why Piolo Pascual still looks smashingly hot even with cuts and bruises covering his handsome face.. hmm :)
I think that Pilar Pilapil's presence in this soap is one of the reasons why it became so successful. I just love Lady Elle!
Why do the black wolves howl like mad even when they are in human form?
Are the caretakers or tagapangalaga like Dimple's Romana immortal? She talks about having seen and experienced a lot from the other taong-lobo (werewolf) as if she has been around for ages.
I learn trivia from this soap. Last night Lady Elle (Pilar Pilapil) mentioned that once every month there is a full moon. If a full moon happens twice in a month, that's what you call Blue moon. Interesting huh?
I also learned that Angel Locsin's character's name, Lyka, came from the word lycanthropy, or the ability of a human being to transform into a wolf. That's trivia for everybody!
The big question which everybody awaits for an answer: Is Gen. Silva also a Lobo? If so, why does he head Luna, the group whose aim is to kill all the Lobos in the world?

I can't wait for tonight's episode!

Sisig Hooray part 2

Finally we were able to eat at Sisig Hooray yesterday. They have a branch in Robinson's Galleria and it's located at the foodcourt. I was like a little kid who saw a toy store when I first saw the Sisig Hooray booth. Tap had to shhh me because I was getting really giddy hehe!

I got pork sisig and Tap ordered chicken sisig plus extra rice. As part of their name, "Freshy prepared sisig", you can really see how they prepare your meal. There's a guy chopping the Lechon, then there's a guy who's mixing the other ingredients in a clear plastic bowl. Price is really affordable at 49.00 pesos per sisig meal.

So we look for a table and the taste test begins. We squeeze in the calamansi, mix it a little, and devour..ooops I mean EAT!! I say, the pork sisig tastes good especially with the crunchy Lechon. There's just something lacking.. I'm not sure if it lacks soy sauce or if I needed to add in more calamansi. The chicken sisig tastes ok too, but I liked the pork sisig better.

After tasting the sisig at Sisig Hooray, I still think that the sisig sold in one of the jollijeeps in Makati is still the best. :)

Tappy and I will be meeting after his shift ends... and finally, after days and days of waiting and craving for sisig, we are going to satisfy my craving and eat at Sisig Hooray!! I've been hearing lots of good reviews about this and I can't wait to try it myself. Good thing they have a branch in Robinson's Galleria. Hooray!! :-)

Summer's Almost Over

Summer season officially started last March. It ends in May (I think).. It's now mid April and I haven't even gone to any summer getaway (sob)!

But this will change in a few days (fingers crossed!)... I met up with my bestest friends, Joni and Gelyn, last Saturday to plan our summer getaway. I'm sure all three of us are not keeping our hopes up that this year's summer getaway will push thru. See, we often make plans but we never got past thru the planning stage hehehe! But we never lose hope, so we make plans again. :)

Our first agenda, WHERE.. We all agreed that we want to go swimming. We decided to choose some place near with the hopes that a nearer location will help make our plans push thru. The nearest place with lots of swimming resort is Antipolo. Here are the suggested resorts:

Club Manila East Resorts (Taytay, Rizal)
The place looks nice (the pictures at least). The pools create waves similar to a beach or like that of 8 Waves. The not so nice thing about the resort is, you can't bring your own food inside. Boo!! :(

Loreland Farm Resort (Antipolo)
Newly renovated. The view looks nice. Overnight rooms look cozy. Rates are very affordable. The only problem is, this resort is jampacked full of people all the time!

Then we remembered that Gelyn can't go swimming (unless she uses earplugs) because of her ear infection. And then Joni suggested that we go on a daytrip instead because she enjoys taking pictures more than swimming and getting sunburned. So here are the suggested daytrip getaways:

I wonder how this got in our choices. Historical daytrip?? Me thinks this won't be that exciting..Is there anything else to do in Corregidor aside from seeing old tanks and cannons used by the soldiers in the war? Ohh I know.. ghost-hunting! Awoooo!!

Allelujah!! I've read about Caleruega and found out that it's a place for retreat and reflecting on one's self. The place looks really nice.. Well I think that if we decide to go here, all we can do aside from taking pictures is talk talk and talk blah blah blah.

Blogger or Wordpress?? Wordpress or Blogger??

I've been going through some tough decision-making lately. I have been meaning to setup my blog on a more professional-looking blog platform because me thinks that Multiply is not really a blog. I've lately come to realize that Multiply is more of a social-networking site similar to Friendster. And I'll probably use Multiply to setup my online shop wehehe. Still, I'm keeping my Multiply updated because most of my friends are Multiply users... So whatever blog posts I write here will also be seen in my Multiply. :)

So where do I put up my new blog? Blogger or Wordpress? I know Wordpress offers more functionality in blogs and it would be easier if for me to setup my own domain once I decide to subscribe to a web host. But since the free Wordpress blog has limited design capabilities, (e.g. I can't upload my own theme unless I pay a fee; and they also have limited widgets; can't advertise unless I get my own domain) I'll try Blogger for the mean time. :)
