President Obama signs Executive Order to focus on National Cyber Security improvement!

While the President is currently giving his State of the Union address (viewable on YouTube here), earlier today he signed an executive order intended to improve the network security of "critical infrastructure." As noted by The Hill, the order charges the National Institute of Standards and Technology with the task of creating a framework of best practices for operators in industries like transportation, water and health to follow, due in the next 240 days. The Department of Homeland Security is also heading up a voluntary program works with various agencies and industry groups to make sure the policies are actually adopted, and find ways to create incentives for that to happen.

The order has arrived after Cyber Security legislation failed to pass through Congress, and has been rumoured heavily throughout the last few weeks. The president called for Congress to pass legislation to prevent Cyber attacks during his speech, and this order is reportedly meant as a step in that direction. The Wall Street Journal indicates many businesses want liability protection against attacks in exchange for following the guidelines, which would require approval form Congress in order to happen.

It includes language accounting for privacy concerns as well, with agencies required to look over the potential impact of their work, and release public assessments. The DHS is to report in a year how its work impacts civil liberties and provide recommendations on mitigating such risks. Prabhas Much Awaiting Movie 'Mirchi' has released today and Getting Mixed and good Response in A.P. Prabhas, Anushka and Richa Gangopdhyaya Starring in Lead Roles in this Movie. Devi Sri Prasad Composed Good Score to this Flick is a Musical Entertainer with Family Action Drama.

Story Line:

Mirchi is the story of Jai (Prabhas) who works in Italy as an Architect. He is happy go lucky youth who enjoys all his life to the fullest. He falls in love with Manasa (Richa Gangopadhyay) and on her request, he comes back to India. And there he wins the hearts of Manasa’s family and finally when they accept it, he reveals his past related to Vennala – Vennu (Anushka) who is the sister-in-law of Prabhas. Things turn topsy turvy from then. What is the bitter past between Vennela and Manasa’s family? And what happens next forms the actual story.

Performances:

Rebel Star Prabhas looks superb in his formal wear and has delivered brilliant performance in Mirchi. There is more maturity in his acting in this movie when compared to his previous flicks. He looks superb in action, comedy, dance and sentimental sequences. Prabhas looks cool in his fights, especially when he wields a sword. He appears very settled in his scenes, he has already proved his worth in Chatrapathi to the masses, Darling endeared him to the family audiences. He has shown through Mirchi that if a mass hero does a film that everyone likes, the range is different. Prabhas is growing as an actor with each film. Anushka gets more marks as a naughty woman and Richa who always disappoints is just about okay. Devi Sri Prasad’s music brings out the energy and the mood especially Mirchi Lanti Kurrode rocked. Brahmanandam tickled the audiences in his own inimitable style. He plays the role of Veera Pratap who gets bugged when addressed as Pratapam. There are loopholes in the story as well. The first half doesn’t move first and then there is a flash back in the second half. By the time it is done, the film is wrapped up. It is definitely a problem with the screenplay.

Richa Gangopadhyay's role is also equally important for the story and any kind of tampering would affect the storyline. She appears in the first half and she impresses you with dance moves and glamour in songs like 'Yahoon Yahoon'... and 'Barbie Girl...'Richa Gangopadhyay is just okay not bad and not so great in the movie

Brahmi plays the role of Veera Pratap. His comedy is good if not great.Nadiya looks good as Prabhas’s mother Sampath had got a crucial role and his performance is good as Protagonist. Satyaraj is good in the father role he is offered. Adithya Menon, Bannerjee and Subba Raju are ok and they do their job. Sampath Raj is effective as the bad guy.

Since passwords have become an increasing problem for many, Google could be set to replace them entirely and is experimenting with USB keys, mobile phones and even jewellery that can act as a physical "key" to give users access to their account.

The search giant's security bosses are set to publish their findings next month and say they could soon be commonplace. The Yubikey, which is believed to have been tested by Google, can automatically log users onto all their accounts without ever asking for a password by placing it into a Google laptop.

The tiny key can be used in any machine with a USB drive, and acts as a physical "key" to unlock the user's account. It can automatically log users in to all of their accounts, and even into their favourite websites, without ever asking for a password.

In the upcoming issue of IEEE Security and Privacy Magazine, Google Vice President of Security Eric Grosse and engineer Mayank Upadhyay are set to detail what is basically a physical key with a "smart chip" embedded inside it.

"Along with many in the industry, we feel passwords and simple bearer tokens such as cookies are no longer sufficient to keep users safe," the Daily Mail quoted the pair as writing in their paper, according to Wired.

The firm is also believed to be experimenting with wireless chips that are already built into some mobile phones, and can even be built in jewellery.

'We'd like your smartphone or smartcard-embedded finger ring to authorize a new computer via a tap on the computer, even in situations in which your phone might be without cellular connectivity,' the team write.

The firm is also believed to be addressing the obvious problem with the system - users losing their "key". The firm is thought to be developing a simple system to replace them.

The USB Keys can be placed on a keychains, and are similar to the ID readers required by many banks to allow people to log into their accounts However, the pair admits that they will have to rely on websites to support the scheme. The USB keys are resilient to being dropped, and can even be taken underwater without ruining them.

Fondly called as Relangi Mavayya by his nephews and nieces, Prakash Raj is seen as a kind hearted gentleman who gives great importance to human values and relationships. He has two sons – Peddodu (Venkatesh) and Chinnodu (Mahesh Babu).

Venkatesh is seen as a strong willed and highly emotional guy who does not like to bow down to others. He believes in doing what is right and waits for the ‘big golden chance’ in life. He is unemployed, but very honest and loves his younger brother Mahesh a lot. Seetha (Anjali) is his maradalu. She is very attached to Venkatesh and grows up believing him to be her husband.

Mahesh Babu on the other hand, is a witty and charming young lad who is irresistible to women. He tries to talk his way out of situations using his wit. He falls in love with Geetha (Samantha), who happens to be the daughter of Rao Ramesh. Rao Ramesh is seen as an arrogant guy who ridicules Prakash Raj and his family for their low wealth.

The unemployment of Venkatesh and the ridicule heaped on the family by relatives puts some strain on the relationships. Both Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu find that their love lives also get affected by all this.

What does Prakash Raj do in these circumstances? Can Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu win the women they love? That forms the story of ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’.

Plus Points :

First, director Srikanth Addala and producer Dil Raju deserve applause for having the courage and the determination to mount such a project in this day and age. Their efforts are evident and it is a treat to see Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu together on the big screen.

Venkatesh is at his best as the straightforward and emotional elder brother. He looks macho, performs with ease in the emotional scenes and brings a lot of dignity to the movie. His scenes with Anjali have been conceived very nicely.

Mahesh Babu is very cool as the handsome and witty younger brother. His godavari district slang and clever one liners will stand out in the film and he succeeds in making people laugh. His romantic scenes with Samantha are brilliant. During the closing stages of the movie, Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu displayed great chemistry as siblings and their performance in the Bhadrachalam episode is a treat to watch.

Samantha is beautiful and adorable in this movie. Her cute expressions and romantic scenes with Mahesh Babu make you want to root for her. Anjali is good as the innocent Seetha. Her expressions are pleasant and she has very good screen presence.

Prakash Raj has done a great job as the father. He is dignified and classy. Jayasudha is neat. Rao Ramesh is highly effective as the jealous and arrogant guy. Murali Mohan, Rohini Hattangadi, Ravi Babu and Tanikella Bharani are good.

The film has beautiful emotions – the bond between brothers, the care shown by an uncle for his niece, the concern shown by a mother for her good but emotional son. It is these emotions and the pleasant nature of the film that pull you in so convincingly.

Middle class family ambiance has been shown realistically and convincingly. The first half of the film goes by at a nice and breezy pace. All the songs in the movie have been shot well.

There are some heart touching scenes in the movie, like the one where Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu want to express their affection for each other but hold back due to personal reservations.

Minus Points :

There is a slight lag in narration in the second half. It is not uncomfortable, but it can be felt. The film needs to be watched without expecting any of the traditional heroism associated with Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu. If you go looking for that ,you may be disappointed.

Great emphasis is placed on family bonding and human emotions and traditional commercial elements take a back seat here.

Technical Aspects :

Guhan’s cinematography is outstanding in the movie. The visuals are rich and colourful and the frame appears very rich. Mickey J Meyer’s music is an asset for the movie. Editing is decent. Dialogues have been written very well.

Srikanth Addala’s success lies not in brilliant storytelling, but in patiently weaving a family drama that balances Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu well. It is not an easy thing to do in this day and age.

Verdict :

Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is a beautifully woven tale of human emotions. The film is a must watch, just to see Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu bond so well on the big screen if not for anything else. Good performances from the lead cast, clean family drama and some nice emotional moments are big bonuses. Don’t go in expecting traditional heroism from Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu. On the whole, SVSC is a Sankranthi entertainer that you need to watch with your family.

Google+ came out of its holiday slumber today with an addition to its Photo section of the service. The team has added pan and zoom functionality to let you explore small areas of high-resolution photographs. This comes after a hot-and-heavy feature push right before the holiday season.

Google’s social feature set has attracted artists of all types, especially professional photographers. Uploading photos is super easy, and sharing with Circles has been a way to get feedback on those pics of the mountains that you just took on a hike before sharing them with the public.

Here’s what Google’s Dave Cohen had to say about the release:

Google+ is full of amazing photos, and today we’re introducing the ability to pan and zoom when viewing photos from your desktop. To give these features a try, simply open a large photo in the lightbox, then:

- use your mouse wheel to zoom in or out
- click and drag to pan right, left, up or down

Higher resolution photos will offer more to explore, so we’re excited to launch pan and zoom just weeks after launching full-size backups of your Android photos (http://goo.gl/KRpjE).

The experience on an Apple laptop is pretty neat, or any laptop with a touch or trackpad. Afte you click on a shared photo, simply use two fingers to zoom in and out fluidly, as you hone in on specific pixel areas. For huge panoramic photos of the outdoors, this can unlock photos in an all new way for followers. The new Nexus devices with the latest version of Android support these types of photos, in case you’ve forgotten.

The box in the upper left-hand side of the screen allows you to see where you are on the picture itself, so that you can simply pan over to different areas to see what you’d like to see. This is an advanced feature, not something that would appeal to mainstream consumers, but one that will be enjoyed regardless. Basically, this wasn’t a must-have for Google+ Photos, but the team clearly felt like it was time to include it.
