I stumbled an interesting business article at inc.com. The article shows you 18 industries that suitable for you to start your own business AND GROW!

One of the the industries is iPhone. Same like iPod, iPhone is taking the mobile phone industry to a new level with its AppStore. Using AppStore you can buy various applications for your needs at an affordable price.

If you’re familiar with iPod, buying applications at AppStore is just like buying songs in iTunes. People could easily buy, download and install software for their iPhone.

Now, that’s the story from the point of view of consumers.

You’re an online entrepreneur. You’re a producer, a seller. And in this shoe you should see AppStore as a marketplace. HUGE one. There’s been no place like AppStore that allows developers to easily develop and sell their software.

Success stories are popping up. Soon or later AppStore will be the new “eBay” in mobile phone scenes. There will be competitors. Google with its Android. Another one is BlackBerry. However, iPhone with its AppStore has the advantages as the pioneer.

It’s such a great time to study this iPhone and Appstore trend and ride the wave.

It seems like everyone is marketing things online these days, but some of the internet marketing examples you find online or in marketing strategy books just don’t seem to fit with your site or your marketing plan.

Some, in fact, deal with spamming or posting your website all over, and you may not be very comfortable with that. Below are some marketing examples that may be more in like with your personal philosophy.

1. Keep It Simple, Silly!

The more important practice in internet marketing is to be careful with your website. Many people, especially those who have never done a website before, want to make it very colorful or use a lot of fancy animation and such. After all, the idea is to make it grab the viewer’s attention, right?

Not exactly! While walking past a decorated store window may grab people’s attention, it doesn’t quite work that way online. No one is simply walking past your site; if they’re on your page, then you’re got their attention. What you want to convey right off is what your site or business is about and what you can offer them, not blind them with bright colors.

2. Fast Website, More Profits

Those fancy flash menus, movies, and animation I mentioned above, aren’t necessary, either. The menus can be fine, but you want to minimize the number of animations and large graphics on your main page. These graphics can take extra time to download, and the animations might actually cause your viewer’s computer to act up if they don’t have the right version of Flash or other add-on installed.

3. Compatible With All Major Browsers

The menus, too, can cause some issues with older versions of internet browsers. Look for some internet marketing examples that use menus that require no extra add-ons or use add-ons that are very, very common. You don’t want a potential customer leaving your website in annoyance because your menudidn’t load or work correctly.

4. Important Content Only

Be aware of the amount of content on your pages, too. Users don’t always want to read huge chunks of text on their monitors, especially since it bothers some people’s eyes. Instead, break up your text into different pages. That’s not to say that you want a bunch of short pages, but you want each major topic or area to have its own page.

5. Easy To Use Search Function

If you’re selling items from your website, make certain to set up a way to search your site for particular items. You’ll also want to allow the user to browse your products by different ways: product name, price, and product category are good ideas. Give your customer as many options for finding things as you can.

It’s hard to say exactly what a “great” website is, especially since what’s good and bad can differ by industry or niche. The best advice for designing your website and for marketing on the internet in general is to look at sites in the same market as your site. Incorporate things you like from those sites into yours.

The best internet marketing examples, after all, are successful site that attract a lot of customers. Goodluck with your Internet marketing effort!

Hi Fellow Online Entrepreneur,

It’s been a while since my last post here. Things have changed a lot since then. We are now in recession era. Some said that it’s a super cycle that happens every 100 years.

I considered myself to be lucky to be able to experience such a rare occasion. Don’t you?

Here are somethings that I’ve learned and I’m sure that will benefit you too:

Cut Your Expenses

First thing first. Cut your unnecessary expenses. Today is the right time to check your income and expenses balance and cut anything that won’t help you produce income in near future.

For example, you can start with quitting membership sites that you didn’t use recently. If you are reluctant to leave the sites, just remember that you have only limited amount of time. You’ll not have enough time to utilize them to their maximum potential anyways.

Clean Up Your Stocks

Check your inventory and find out what you have already. Think on how you can utilize your inventory. If you have products, put them online. If you have Private Label Articles, put them online. Monetize your inventory. If you have tons of educational material, pick one that you like most and implement the method like there’s no tomorrow.

Treat your loyal customers well

Go back to your existing customers and give them some treat. Show them that you are giving them better service than your competitors. Even during recession.

If you’re watching the news, you can see how car manufactures filled the headlines. They cut expenses by reducing number of their employees, they dropped the production volume. This is exactly what you should do during recession time. It’s time to revive your business’ financial situation.

Start today and don’t delay! Procrastination is the key to failure.

It was a though ride for most business starting from the late of 2008 until now. Probably, this “bad economy” will go on until the end of 2009.

I guess, a piece of good advice I could give you is to change the way you do your business. OK, that’s probably too abstract, but here something you can learn from the “big brothers”.

It’s been on the news. Toyota cuts thousands of their employees. Changing their highest echelon of management team. Restructuring their sales channel in the future. What you can see here is, simply, cost cut.

Cost cut is a no-brainer, must-take action for companies if they want to survive. Companies in all sizes. That includes your online business as well.

So, take your time today to list all your expenses. Find items that you can discard so you can free-up some cash flow. Put more of your resources to places that bring profits.

I hope you’re taking my advice seriously and benefit from it.

Google just released it’s own browser, Chrome. After a successful allience with FireFox, google aims to expand non-IE users by releasing Chrome.

It’s said that Chrome is intended to rival Microsoft’s latest version of Internet Explorer (IE). However, I believe that what drives google to release Chrome is the fact that the latest IE blocks websites to gather user’s preference information. You see, this situation creates difficuties Google to target their ads to the right audience. And for us, as onlne business owners, this could affect our internet marketing efforts as well, indirectly.

Not only that, Microsoft is also trying to restrict which toolbars that can be plugged in to IE. This would be another barrier for companies that gather informations through toolbars like Alexa, Compete and of course Google.

In the perspective of Internet Marketers, we rely our marketing information from companies like Alexa, Compete and Google that provide users’ information openly. Therefore, Microsoft plans to blocks their rival could lead a disaster to a lot of small online entrepreneurs. Especially, if Microsoft decided to close the information they manage to gather for themselves or planning to sell the information at a hefty price tag.

What can we do?

Stop using Windows. OK, I know that is a difficult choice. So what is the alternative for that? Especially, for online business owners, we need also to protect our business. One simple thing that we can do is perhaps by not using IE, and support other browser like FireFox, Chrome instead.

You could be more proactive by encouraging your customers to use other browsers, whenever it is
possible. If you are selling digital products, you can promote other browsers at your thank you page/download page. Or if you have a blog you can promote other browsers at your own blog. Just like what I did here, in this blog post:

Download Chrome here.
