Hey guys! I’ve spent the last few days doing lots of research and making my first earnings. I’ve made 0.20 Euros (roughly $0.25) using Clickworker.

Now this might not seem like a lot. But for someone just starting out, it’s actually a huge deal. It shows that it’s doable. How many of you guys kept reading and reading about how to make money online, trying out different things and actually earned something within a few days? The amount doesn’t matter, what matters is – that it IS possible!

Now I don’t want to rave about it for too long, I still have a long way to go. But I’m genuinely happy to have made the step from nothing to something.

Alright, let me explain how Clickworker works.

Clickworker.com is basically a website where people can do microtasks for pocket change. The tasks offered there are either slightly too complex to be fully automated by software, or they need people’s input to train AI software.

Most tasks I’ve seen there are meant to train AI, or filling out surveys.

As you can see, most of the jobs require you to record a short video, or take some pictures.

The amount they pay usually ranges from a few cents (doing surveys) up to 50 Euros for bigger projects. 99% of the time you will see jobs in the 20 cents to 2 Euro range. Better paying jobs are usually taken quickly.

In order to get paid, you need a verified PayPal account. The minimum payout treshold is around $5, which is fairly easy to aquire. I can report in detail about that once I’ve hit the treshold and received my first payout from them.

Clickworker can be used by anyone who has a PayPal account, so make sure to give it a try.

The pay you receive for doing those tasks is fair, and better than on every similar site I’ve seen so far.

If you live in a western country like me, you obviously won’t be able to make a living from it. However, if you live in a developing country like Venezuela or the Philippines for example, you could actually earn decent money for their standards (the average monthly salary in Venezuela is around 5 dollars these days).

That’s it about Clickworker so far. Now what’s next?

I’ve been looking into other ways to make active and passive income.

What I’ve come up with so far are the following:

I’ve written an article and put it on articlesale.com for $20. Articlesale is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers for written content. It’s kinda like ebay for blogposts. The sign up process is super simple. You only have to register a free account with your email address, attach your PayPal account and upload your article (you can set your own price for it). The website doesn’t take a cut from your earnings, not even from buyers. Once your article is up, everyone who visits the page is free to read the excerpt and buy it from you if they like it. The delivery process is fully automated. This means, once your article is submitted, you only have to wait until someone buys it and collect your money. I don’t know if my article will ever sell, but it’s worth a try.

Another article marketplace I found is Dotwriter. The idea is the same as on Articlesale, the difference is, that you can also get custom writing jobs there. I’m currently working on my first article to put on their marketplace and will report in the future about how it went.

The big frenlancer websites like upwork.com are currently not an option for me. I tried signing up on upwork but they do not want new freelancers because there are already too many signed up on their website. The same goes for all the other big freelancer sites. I might consider reapplying again, once I have a portfolio of previous work done on other places to show them.

Fiverr could be an option in the near future, but there’s lots of competition there already. I’ll have to figure out first what kind of service I should offer there.

I was learning to code earlier this year. I’m not really proficient at it yet, but I could put this to use in the future. Mainly, I’d be looking into creating a smartphone app and try to monetize it somehow. This is definitely something I will keep my focus on the side, as this could be a good option.

In-game currency of certain online games can be sold for real money. I will check if there’s any marketplaces where this can be done easily, and research if there are games that I used to play on the list.

For passive income I will reconsider Kindle publishing. I have published a couple ebooks on Amazon Kindle back in early 2016, and it was actually my first online venture that made me some money. However, lots has changed in the space over the last three years, so I might have to adjust my strategy when I’m going back in.

That’s it for now. I’m going back to work and keep you updated as soon as I figured something out.

Thanks for reading!

Another day, another dollar! Or at least, I hope so.

There are two types of income that can be made online: active income and passive income.

Active income means that you trade your time for a set amount of money. For example, you get hired to write an article and you’ll receive $50 on delivery.

Passive income is something where you first put in the time to set up the income stream, but once the job is done money will continue to trickle in without you having to do anything anymore. This could be a book you’ve written and published on Amazon kindle. Once you’ve written the book, you don’t have to write it again, right?

Obviously, passive income is king. Who doesn’t want to earn money in their sleep? I certainly do, because I sleep a lot.

However, if you’re starting out with nothing, you will most definitely need an active income source as well.

Building up a passive income stream will take time – how much time, we’re about to find out along the journey – and you never know in advance how the results will look like. You could spend weeks on building something just to find out later, that it’s a flop and won’t earn you anything. That’s part of life, and you shouldn’t be afraid of it.

If you have a job that provides you a fixed income every month, you should probably aim for a passive income stream immediately.

Since that’s not the case with me, I will have to find an active income source as well that can be done online.

So here is a rough plan about what I’m doing next:

Find a sustainable source for active income, which can be done online

Research a viable passive income source, and slowly build it up while making active income

Sounds simple, but probably isn’t. We will find out soon.

Alright, let’s go to work!

You may be wondering what’s this blog all about. And in all honesty I am too.

Let me elaborate…

Back in 2016 I have quit my job and tried to find financial freedom on my own, using just my laptop. It’s been quite a ride and I have zero regrets about doing it. Sure it was not all sunshine and peaches, there were a couple of up’s and a shitton of downs along the road.

I have founded a company with two friends back then, which did poorly in the beginning. In mid 2017 things started to pick up and in late 2017 I thought I could retire at the age of 24.

Boy was I wrong!

After some amazing months of earning more money than I ever thought was possible, things suddenly came to a halt. The company still exists today but barely survives.

This has been going on for almost two years by now and my savings start to get smaller and smaller. I have to find a new thing, a new way to make money in order to sustain my life in independence.

In this blog I want to document everything I do, how much money it made me, and give a honest opinion on the method itself, to show you if it’s a viable option, in case you wanted to try it out yourself.

Now this is not one of those classic “how to make money online” blogs, that will promise you x-amount of dollars by doing “just this simple trick” (which they reveal by buying their $69 online course). It’s rather an experiment if you want to call it that way, or a diary perhaps?

We will find out soon.

The main reason I decided to start this blog is to get word out of there and having someone to be accountable to, even if it’s a random stranger on the internet (if I even get lucky to have any readers).

I tried out different things to make money online earlier before my company used to take off. However, none of these ever made me enough to cover my expenses.

Therefore I’m taking a whole new approach this time, trying everything I stumble accross.

Enough talking, let’s get to work!

Money made since launch of this blog: $0.00

Let’s fucking do it!
