On this site, I always encourage you to click this link (there, I did it again!) to access legit jobs online that could solve some of your financial challenges. Yes, I do get a commission if you do!

Indeed, I noticed recently that the UK Government have even started to promote the site on their own website as an alternative source of income for unemployed workers!

So often affiliates promote a product without trying it themselves (I have been guilty of this) so I decided to test the scheme to see if you really can get legit jobs online.

To be honest, even from my biased standpoint, I was pleasantly surprised how LegitJobsOnline.com did represent good value for money. You pay around $40 (£30) upfront and for that you get extensive advice and links on various aspects of legit jobs online including classified advertising, making eBay work for you, paid shopping and general legit jobs online. To be fair, if you are in a country other than the USA then the options are more limited but you still get your moneys worth in my view.

I have been involved in Internet marketing for a couple of years now but still found the information valuable.

There is a downside however and it may help to explain why the initial package is so cheap. Once you sign up there is nothing more to pay (unless you go down the paid advertising route, but that is entirely controlled by you) but you will be subject to hard sell calls and emails.

Obviously the emails are not a problem (you just delete them) but the telephone calls are more persuasive. This is why I am writing this post.

As far as I can see, the calls come from two sources. The first set come from a body working under various names such as Applyki, Apply Knowledge Institute, The Coaching Department and ResultsNV. You get a two-hour hard sell talk that includes common sense ideas regarding legit jobs online and offering you a mentoring scheme to drive your business further. You are told you have been recommended for this from the legit jobs online site and (of course) it is not offered to everyone. If you ask what is in it for them, you are told it is for publicity and you could appear on TV shows such as Oprah Winfrey if you are successful (frankly I can’t think of anything worse!).

It is only half way through the call that you discover how much the scheme costs. I have heard various sums mentioned but the average seems to be a one-off payment of $5200. This seems a lot of money (and it is) but to be honest I have been offered another mentoring scheme from another totally different company for $7500.

I suppose this would be worth it if you were taught how to recover this fairly quickly through income from your legit jobs online, but, frankly, if you do think it is excessive, put the phone down without giving your credit card details.

I will say however that one person who is trying it has told me that the coaching so far has seemed pretty good. To be fair this is after only a month or so and ApplyKi (or whatever they are called) do say they will mentor for six months with another six months advice after that.

The recommendation seems to be that, if you decide to take it up, to give it some thought first and don’t be steamrollered into it. It is essential you read the terms and conditions first and keep a copy. The reason for this is the terms and conditions state the initial payment covers everything. I am aware the company will try to get more money from you but you must refuse this. I have heard of the hard sell starting again for a dropshipping service that costs another $3500 and then hosting/website construction for $40 a month. Keep clear of these as, if you need them (and you may not – particularly the dropshipping service), you can get them for much less elsewhere.

ApplyKi seem to work in two halves; if you get the right mentor you may well get reasonable value but there is obviously a team in the company who are out just to part you from your money.

Should you use them? It is your decision of course but I would say make sure you have your eyes wide open and, if there is any doubt at all, stay well clear. On balance I think you can work legit jobs online without spending this amount of money on mentoring.

The second source of hard selling is a company called the Tax Club or My Essential Plans. Again, this comes in the form of a long telephone call offering you financial and planning services for your legit jobs online business for another $5000. The true sum is once more lost in the middle of the conversation.

The decision this time is a lot easier: do not get involved. I have found no evidence that you will get any benefit to your legit jobs online from the Tax Club/My Essential Plans at all. Indeed, one person living here in the UK was assured the company understood international law, including in Britain, and yet they did not know where she was and demonstrated during the conversation they in fact had not the slightest idea how things work in the UK. Many of the services they offer you can do yourself or you can get advice for less and in affordable increments.

Keep well clear.

Searches on Google only serve to underline this – the Tax Club/My Essential Plans are to be avoided. There is a lot of negative online about ApplyKi etc. too so you may decide to ignore them too.

In summary, therefore, the LegitJobsOnline.com deal seems pretty good, you make your own decision on ApplyKi but the Tax Club would be a waste of money.
