South Africa's first Online Recruitment Conference will  take place in Cape Town on the 11th and 12th February 2010.

The Conference is being hosted by Career Junction, whose CEO - Kris Jarzebowski - flew to the UK in July to attend the UK's first Social Media In Recruitment Conference that I organised.

I am fortunate to be speaking at Kris's Conference which I am really looking forward to.  So, it looks like I am off to South Africa in World Cup year, just a shame that the football starts four months after I get back!

Having organised the UK’s first ever Social Media in Recruitment Conference in July 2009 I am looking forward to helping Corporate Recruiters, Recruitment Agencies, Recruitment Advertising Agencies, Job Boards and Recruitment Industry suppliers get the most from the use of Social Media in Recruitment.

There were over 150 people at the first Conference which was a clear indication in the interest in Social Media. Next years conference will be held some nine months after the first one which means that there will be plenty of new things to talk about and discuss.  In addition to the speaker slots (including case studies) we will also be having an interactive discussion panel and a chance for delegates to share their Social Media success stories.

Last Thursday Jobsite announced that they had become the main club sponsor for Portsmouth Football Club after signing a three year contract.
