An overall reading above 90 indicates the economy is solid, and 100 or above signals strong growth.

The percentage of respondents expecting more jobs in the next six months rose to 18.4% from 15.5%.

Similarly, those saying jobs are "hard to get" slipped to 45.1% from 48.5% in August, while responses that jobs are "plentiful" ticked up to 4.2% from 3.7%.

Earlier this month the Labor Department reported that 247,000 jobs were lost in July and the unemployment rate fell to 9.4% from 9.5% in June -- the first decline in more than a year.

According to government figures, 237,000 fewer people were unemployed last month. That decline could be due to discouraged job seekers who have stopped looking, people who have now retired, or those have gone back to school. U.S. sales accounted for nearly two-thirds of the company’s revenue and same-stores sales rose 1.5 percent.

Wal-Mart officials say they are focused on “accelerating” expense reductions, but they only predicted future same-store sales in the zero to two percent range.

Subscribe to RSS headline updates from:
Powered by FeedBurner

India affecting Recession

JOB CUTS is the most terrible word for any employeer and employee. Ulips include the worse of both worlds, it brings with them high cost, involving numerous charges for premium allocation, policy administration, fund management, mortality, rider premium, surrender and service fees. Since an insurer collects premium from policy holder, the sum at risk at the begining of a policy year will be difference between the sum assured and the agregate premium collected before the given policy year or the fund value in the policyholders account, depending on whether it is a traditional plan or a unit-linked. The mortality charge increses with the age of the policy holder asnd depending on the fund value, the deduction on the fund value may rise or fall. After premium allocation and fund management fee, mortality premium is the highest charge that a policy holder pays in ULIP. Thus a higher mortality charge is bound to reduce your investment value as it is appropriated through the cancellation of units of equivalent value.

A policy buyer must know the mortality charges and compare different insurers and plans

Subscribe to RSS headline updates from:
Powered by FeedBurner

The Nifty ended the July series on a strong note and closed above the 4550 level. The rupee appreciated sharply by 52 paise to end at a two-week high of 48.20/21 against the dollar today as the overseas weak US currency and strong equity markets powered the local units bounce back. This sector directly depends on the consumers choice and their needs which creates a chain; from company stock store to state stock/local stock store to the whole sellers and from wholesellers to consumers or from wholesellers to distributors to dealers then to consumers.
In short it is a bussiness that buy goods at one price ( term it as wholesale rate ) and sell them to consumers adding some profit with the basic price. The Retail sector in India has been at high for last a year or two…The huge Indian middle class consumer are now the blue eyed segment for biggies like Bharti, Wal-Mart, Reliance and loads of others, in race to capture their pie in Indian Retail Market. Now India is slowly becoming the center of attraction for retail backened IT support global giants. However, with most global and domestic IT companies going slow on hiring plans, housing demand has been adversely impacted. According to a national survey by the Indian Labour Bureau, 5 lakh jobs were lost during Oct-Dec of 2008, with the gems & jewellery, transport and automobile sectors most affected. In the IT sector, Infosys Technologies has put a freeze on new hiring to check costs amid the global economic downturn, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has ruled out salary hikes for next year and said job cuts are possible, and Wipro is said to be planning to cut 4-5 per cent of its total workforce. “Slowing home loan growth of 10 per cent year-on-year on the back of slowing employee growth of 14 per cent at the top 3 Indian IT companies in third quarter of FY09 are early signs of this trend. A deteriorating outlook for Indian IT and our IT headcount forecast for the top 3 IT majors, which have been revised down, raise a demand risk for the residential property,” Citigroup Global Markets said in a report

Subscribe to RSS headline updates from:
Powered by FeedBurner

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
Online Stock Brokers Reviews, Compare Online Brokers, Online Stock Trading Reviews
