Yep, I knew it was bound to happen…I got that famous cold call from Leapfish, the “stellar new search engine aggregator”, and after the fast talking agent had me click around his site, I thought, hey, this is pretty good, wonder what a sponsored link would cost.

Well, the little voice told me to go looking online for the experience of others, and wouldn’t ya know it…these kids are into fraud!

First up, there’s the fake testimonials on Techcrunch…and being a sort of investigator of claims myself, I thought I’d take a snapshot of that V***** keyword from that post, and see if they are still up to their shenanigans…

But right at the same time, over at the advertisers page, it seems this keyword has only the #2 spot left, so I better hurry if I want it!

Ya, rrrrrrighhhht!

Just go check out techcrunch’s own reporting of these guys, and how their very own employees are busy spamming the site with fake enthusiasm about leapfish.  It takes a while to read all those comments, but sure is fun to see the snakes get drawn out and squished.

So, I gotta ask myself…they call me about a keyword I rank for on google, then offer a #1 spot for a one-time 4 figures, and yet when I go search that term on their site, it says it is already sold out…so who’s right, the guy on the phone, or their website?

I don’t know about you, but when things don’t add up, I back up and run…

Swapping ads is a well known technique used by online pro marketers to generate fast website traffic and build a list quickly.

When you swap ads, it is simply an agreement between two people, where one person will send an email to promote the other person’s website/offer, and
you send out an email to do the same (the other person’s offer/website).

Usually, you ask for a headline (or headlines) plus the email text and the link url that they wish to send out to their website or blog.
And you do the same – sending your headlines, email “copy” and the link you wish to share.

The good news is you can get online, have no list, get just a few subscribers using an opt-in box on your website, and then turn to these
ad swaps to get a great start to building a high traffic website that builds an email list super quick.

Here’s an example of what normally happens when things go well: a complete newbie learned this technique, and went from a list of zero to just over 2,000 subscribers in just 4 weeks. Not only that, but they used a free gift as the offer in order to get the visitors to opt in, and when they thank the visitor for doing so (and asking them to confirm their request via email), they sometimes make money by offering a special deal, something of value, to these visitors, and because these visitors come to the website through other people’s newsletter or ezine (maybe even from a friend), they are endorsed, meaning there is an association of trust between the person who sent the email, and you.

The end result is you get super high quality visitors, many of which are familiar with online subscriptions, of seeing offers on line…and often these very same people are trying to do things online, like build a website, build a list, get website traffic to some page, and your gift needs only to give them what they are searching for.

In the Internet Marketing market, this is turning out to be the hands down fastest way to build a list without spending a dime. In fact, the only other way I’ve seen that can build a list faster is with either pay per click advertising, or having one of those gigantic product launches with hundreds of big name partners (which is next to impossible for newbie marketers).

It’s come to my attention that there are some ripoffs going on in this ad swap world too, so I have put together a quick tips guide to doing ad swaps the professional way. It lets you exchange lists fast, build traffic and lists fast, and do it in an ethical way, with partners you trust and really can promote one another in confidence, without fear of being scammed (you send them traffic, you get nothing back), or you get the bait-and-switch ripoff (they send you an email with a free offer, but when the visitors click the link, they go to a forced continuity offer with a $1 charge – lowest of the low marketers actually try these scummy tactics…and get smeared in the back rooms of chat rooms all over the Internet).

If an average boy from Idaho, up to his ears in debt at age 25, and a millionaire by age 31, could ever teach us something…it was Jim Rohn.

Jim Rohn passed away on December 5, 2009, after an 18 month fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis.  While he will be sadly missed, Jim’s ability to teach wealth mentality to people was unique because, as he said, it is timeless information, and by learning and applying this wisdom, you could quickly transform your life into the vision you have.

See, it wasn’t the car…it was his experiencing the “That’s it!” feeling, the thing that gets you off your butt, and seriously doing what you should be doing.

And doing that right, living by sound principals, well, it changes everything, and maybe by reading a little of Jim’s quotes, or by watching some of these videos, you might have something catch your attention, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get so wound up, so focused, that you too will become wealthy.

One of the terrible problems trying to learn how to run an online business is the thousands of voices out there telling you what to do, all contradicting everyone else.  Take one example, putting comments on someone else’s wordpress blog.

Sounds good, because wordpress by default let’s you put in your name and your website address, and then hyperlinks to your site with your name.

The trouble came when some crafty marketers came along and started telling everyone to not put their name in the name field, but to put the keywords you want to rank for.  What happened next was a whole lot of crazy commenting from people with names that sounded a whole lot like the latest pharmaceutical discoveries.

Is this something you dabble in?

If so, you will want to pay close attention to a recent statement from google.  As expected, they know all about this craziness, and not only devalue spammy wordpresss comment links, but they also devalue the power of the entire blog, and they give it a justification of saying if the blog is unattended, and spammers have control, then the site loses credibility.

Google’s comment spam remarks are waking up the industry and the webmasters that run blogs, alerting them to this problem, and helping both sides understand why all that effort to develop a site might be going down the toilet.

They are super nice folks, and provide step by step instructions on what to do if your blog is overrun with spam, or if you have actively been spamming blogs to get backlinks to your site.

It might take some time to get things fixed, but it looks like you can recover, so be sure to read google’s latest guidance and follow the instructions if this problem applies to you.

It underscores why creating high quality original content and keeping your site organized is still the best way to creating a viable online business.

Read this to discover how to write persuasive articles that get read and get users motivated to take action.

Persuasive writing is a timeless art that many people have mastered over the centuries, and while you may think that the new media, TV, Internet, iPod, and iPhones might change the way to communicate persuasively, the fact is the same age old formula works as good today as it did 2,000 years ago.

I know you want to know the secrets to unleashing explosive content & persuasive articles that bring in visitors and sales, so let’s get started.

First up, the words and content you use is critical.  Don’t be boring!  Bring out some emotion, and be confrontational, argumentative, explosive, or some other strong feelings in your writing.

Don’t ignore this point, especially on the Internet, because people will click away from your pages faster than you can blink, if you write boring junk.

You don’t need to write about gun control, gas prices or abortion to make your writing make the veins pump, nope, you can write about anything at all, and all you need to do is use emotionally charged words instead of bland adjectives.  Use lots of motion in your writing – action words.

Persuasion techniques are not only about emotion, though, and you need facts.  Presenting facts, and proving facts is another proven cornerstone of a good argument.   If you make any claims in your article, back it up with verifiable proof.

To get your article looked at and read, you need to create curiosity, so make sure your headline and title are compelling yet unresolved statements.  I mean, you don’t write “Angelina Joli’s new baby”, but instead “which hollywood star just gave birth again?”.  You see how a question is left in the mind of the reader?  That’s how you get your article read – by leaving something unresolved.

If you want some world class training on this technique, be sure to install one of the instant messenger programs, from yahoo, MSN, or AOL.  These programs pop up daily “news” on your screen, and you can study how they do it to get almost everybody clicking on something each day.

Other places are the tabloids, News of The World, National Enquirer; they are masters of compelling headlines, and by studying them, you can apply the very same techniques in your writing.

If your goal is internet marketing, meaning selling online, then you need to lead up to a strong call to action,  and the best way to achieve this is to provide useful but incomplete information in your article. I know it works, and you’ve seen it too, where some very good information is revealed, but it leaves you with a problem that can only be solved by buying a recommended product.  That’s the key to selling online – presenting information, generating strong emotions, and then presenting a problem that your product or service resolves.

Now the times you get results will vary on your target market, so be sure to know who your visitor is, how they think, what they wear, what they like.  Then you can write in their language, using their lingo, and that will generate a sense of knowing you, and liking you.

Once you have your persuasive articles produced, you’ll want to get the word out, and you do this by posting them on social networking sites, by submitting your article to article websites and directories, and any place that will accept your content.

Writing articles is still the best way to boost a site’s traffic and prestige, so let me waste no time
on showing you how to get more traffic and make more money by using articles.

Be sure to grab a pen or pencil and take notes, so you don’t miss any of the details, because the method
revealed here is very powerful when followed carefully.

Here’s are my writing tips to write articles for maximum effect:

These will be the most important writing tips you will need to take to make an effective article that gets read.

1.  Pick Your Subject

It’s obvious, I hope, but you need to choose something to write about, so surf the web, read pages, get ideas, and then choose what you can use for content.

2. Keyword Research

I don’t see many people talking about this, but to get visitors to your website every day, you will need to bring them through a link, either from a search engine, or from a site that is discussing your article topic.  So, to get website traffic, you’ll need to do a
little search engine optimization along with some keyword research.  Don’t worry, it’s free to do, and doesn’t take much time.

Here’s how to do it:  Google the “google keyword tool”, and choose the first link from google. Enter in your root keyword for your subject.  Find some keywords with decent search volume.
Be sure you have some a tool called search status, a free add-on for firefox, and then take your search terms, and google the keywords that have some search volume.  What you are looking for is
an entry on the first page of google that isn’t from a top ranked website, with not too many backlinks.

With search status, you can click the new seo entries under the search results to find other sites that link to the pages listed.

Here’s an example for “affiliate classroom 3.0″ news from google:

Note how many sites have few external links to their page or even site, so getting on the first page of google for this term is
pretty straight forward.  Note also the number of ads running for this term, which tells you it is a search term you can monetize easily.

Once you have found a keyword with good search volume, and the ability to rank on the first page of google, then write your headline with this keyword, making it a compelling subject that any interested person would read and click on to learn more.

Ideally, you’ll want your article to be breezy, easy to read, and helpful.  some ideas are to make your content into bullet points, and itemize them so all the information is in bit-sized pieces.

You want to write how a grade 7 student writes, with simple words, and paragraphs that are easy to read.

In your title, I like to make it an unresolved solution, meaning the reader must click into the article to discover what you are promising to deliver.

Content is king, so tips that help your visitors are what keep them engaged, and having a free offer is always a good way to grab their attention.

You want to take your top ideas, copy them into your article, use words related to the keyword you are targeting, and use this a few times in the article.

Include your keyword in your title of your article, and in the first paragraph of the article, and maybe a few times in the remaining body of the article.

These basic article writing tips are essential to write an article that you publish to your web site, and if you do that (and I highly recommend you have your own blog where you publish your articles first),
then be sure the web page contains your keyword as well.

3. Quality Content

It’s essential to make sure your reader is happy with your article, so do the research and publish a good quality article, and not one that is vague and unfocused.  By providing top quality content that people appreciate, you’ll have the chance
to get others to link to your site, to refer others to read your article, and maybe even print it out.  It should be something you are proud to put your own name on.

4.  Leave Them Wanting More

There’s no point to write a pro article that answers every question your reader has, since your objective is to get them to take action, to click on an offer you are making, or to have them click over to a page on your website, so do not write such a good article that
you leave them with no questions.  Your article shoudl create desire with the words you use, and make it easy for them to want to take the action you put into your author resource box.

5.  A Clear Call To Action

In your author resource box, you want the reader to be able to know clearly what you want them to do, be be able to click through to whatever it is you want them to click on.  Don’t be shy here, and be certain to tell them in no uncertain terms what you want them to do.

Words are powerful, and I recommend you take out everything that is unneccessary, to make every statement impactful and useful.  Make sure visitors find what you promised in your headline, and then give them a reason why they need to click on your link.

If you can make your article like Noah’s ark, meaning the only place they can go to, to find the answers they seek, then you will have a very powerful article.  You can do this by picking a well chosen keyword with traffic but not too much competition, and then writing a killer article that gives them trust and dependence on you, along with a link for more information.

It is a little bit of work, and although you can write an article like this in 20 minutes or less, it will sometimes take you longer, to put it in a format and written in a way that brings in visitors and profits.

Don’t forget, once our ezine article is published, you need to do some web promotion, and the best way is by social bookmarking and to submit your article to article directories like ezinearticles.  There are article submission services that can help you.  Personally, I like to write one killer article for my site, and then to take either an extract of it, or write a separate article, and submit this to the various directories, because that way my site’s content will not get delisted because some other website has the same content.  I believe article submission is critical to any on line business success, so don’t forget to do it.

Writing your articles for maximum traffic and conversion is something that takes a little time to master, but once you apply these effective article writing tips, you’ll find it’s a lot easier to get the results you want.

When writing articles for internet marketing purposes, be sure to use plenty of adverbs, and cut out as many adjectives as possible.  It’s action you are going for, after all.

Before I wrap up and put this into the digital archives, let me point out things using a “do not” format, to help drive home writing mistakes people make.

Article Mistakes

1. Writing Vague Information

By vague, I mean you are writing without giving specific measurable steps that people can act on.  Always lean on being too specific if you are worried about being too vague.

2. Not Keyword Targeted

Writing naturally can turn an effective article into a feature that is never read.  Be sure to use keywords that get traffic in your title and article.

3. No Call To Action

Don’t assume everything is easy, and that readers can read your mind.  Spell everything you want out as explicitly as you can, and tell them exactly what they need to do.  Your newsletter response will double simply by putting in clear directions on what they should do.

4.  Freedom of Speech

Yes, you have a right to say whatever is on your mind, but be careful if you want to put down products or people in your article.  Defamation and lawsuits do happen, so avoid putting anything in a form that might get you into trouble.
