We’re delighted to announce that the convention is now fully sold out. A huge thank you to everyone who entered the ballot for tickets.
This marks what we believe to be our 30th convention and the fact that all 30 previous ones sold out is a real testament to the strength of the show and its everlasting appeal with the public.
Massive credit goes to Craig Wood for pulling together a show that features around 95% new faces meeting David Jason while still making sure all our wonderful regulars still have the chance to attend. And well done to Chris McNeil for securing such a fantastic cast list.
He may still add more, so you never know what surprises are around the corner bruv.
It is still worth dropping Craig a line to be added to the ballot list. Things can change quickly in this game. As they say, New York closes and Tokyo opens, so keep your eyes peeled here for possible further updates.

Join us and beloved actor Sir David Jason at Waterstones Piccadilly as he signs copies of his upcoming book This Time Next Year. Combining heartwarming memoir with uplifting positive thinking guide, this volume from the legendary actor behind Del Boy Trotter focuses on Jason’s famous optimistic outlook and how it has served him well throughout his career.
Tickets: £22 include entry for one person and one copy of the This Time Next Year which will be available for collection on the day.
Terms and conditions:
Each ticket entitles the ticketholder to one copy of the book which will be available for collection on the day.
You will be required to show your ticket on the day of the event, to gain entry, and as proof of purchase.
The queue will be formed on a first come first served basis. We will aim to keep you updated on your waiting time, but please come prepared to queue. Some outside queuing may be required, so please do come dressed appropriately for all weathers and keep hydrated.
To avoid disappointment, we must stress there will be no opportunity to meet Sir David Jason without a ticket.
Sir David will be signing copies of This Time Next Year only; no merchandise will be signed at this event.
Sir David will sign a maximum of 2 copies of This Time Next Yearper person. There will be the opportunity to purchase one extra copy of This Time Next Year on the day.
There will be no posed photographs or selfies permitted during the signing due to time constraints. Our priority is to ensure everyone gets a personalised signed copy. Staff will be on hand to take your camera/phone to get a photo of you with Sir David whilst he signs your book.
Tickets are non-transferable.
Ticketholders must be present at the event to receive their signed copy of the book. If you are unable to attend, please contact events@waterstones.com. If you are unable to attend on the afternoon, please be aware that we will only be able to reserve your book for up to 2 weeks. Copies must be collected in store.

We’ve had amazing conventions for the past 4 years, and we’re thrilled to announce that Sir David Jason is returning to meet his fans! Join us on Saturday, August 17th & Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Milton Keynes.
Ticket holders will get a photo oportunity with Sir David Jason in the iconic Trotter Flat, meet other beloved cast members, and grab their autographs. Plus, don’t miss the Saturday Night Karaoke!
We look forward to seeing all lucky ticket holders in August 2024. We have included a short Q & A below to try and assist you with any questions you may have, however, if something is not covered in the below, please feel free to email us and one of the team will answer your question in due course.
Q) What are the COVID restrictions for the Convention?
A) In line with the current guidelines (November 2022), there are NO CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS being implemented at our event. If this should update, we will reflect our policies accordingly. In the event of our event not going ahead because of circumstances beyond our control, ALL tickets will be automatically rolled over to the new date of the event. If you as a successful ticket holder and cannot attend because of a positive COVID test etc, the Society are under no obligation to offer a ticket exchange or refund. This guidance will be reviewed regularly to comply with any restrictions at the time of the event, and communications will be issued to all ticket holders directly. Sanitiser will be provided (if required) throughout the event.
Q) Where is the Convention being held in August 2024?
Q) What are the times of the Convention and the date?
A) The Convention is being held over the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th 2024. Registration will open for ticket holders around 08.30am each day. The event will end around 5:30pm each day. An agenda will be issued nearer the time of the event with the running order of the day.
Q) I have a ticket that includes a ‘moment with Sir David Jason’. Can I give him a gift?
A) We kindly request no gifts are to be given to Sir David Jason as this will take up all of the allocated time for your photo.
Q) How much are tickets and what is included?
A) Please take a look further up the page; we have listed the details of the ticket types and their inclusions. You do not need to attend both days. Tickets are per person, per day.
Q) If I buy a ticket but cannot make the event, can I get a refund or sell the ticket on?
A) No. All of our tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Anyone found selling their ticket; the event organisers reserve the right cancel the order / refuse admission to the Convention.
Q) If I am late, will I still be entitled to the inclusions in my ticket?
A) If you arrive after Registration has closed, you will still be admitted entry to the event. However, if your table has already had their time slot called for your photo with Sir David you will still be able to undertake this entitlement but will be at the next available slot advised by a member of the Convention Crew. It is not possible to pause the event for your photo in the Flat due to lateness, so please arrive in plenty of time!
Q) Once I have purchased my tickets, when will they be posted?
A) Entry will be via collection of your ticket(s) on the day at Registration. All valid ticket holders will have their names at Registration ready for entry to be permitted, so please ensure when purchasing, the ticket holder is the one listed on the ticket(s) purchased. We do not post ticket(s) out, nor email these. Your invoice / email confirmation acts as your ticket(s).
Q) Can I pay by card at the Convention for any purchases?
A) Yes, we will have selected stalls where card payments as well as cash can be taken for your purchases.
Q) Is there a dress code for the event?
A) Whilst there is no strict dress code, we recommend appropriate attire for the event.
Q) Can I have a ‘selfie’ with the actors in attendance and is there a charge?
A) There will be NO ‘Selfies’ at the event with Sir David Jason. Selfies are left to the discretion of the other guest actors, although most are very happy to pose for a photograph if asked politely. We do not charge for a ‘selfie’! Crew Members will be sat with each actor and happy to assist with the taking of your photo.
Q) Are there any photographs taken of the event?
A) Yes, our official event photographer will have this facility on the day
Q) Will there be any photographs available to purchase on the day, or do I have to bring my own?
A) You can bring your own; however, we will have a large selection of photographs and other merchandise that you will be able to purchase on the day.
Q) What is the car parking like at the venue?
A) There is plenty of parking at the venue. MK1 Parking Ltd operate all of the Car Parks and it is advised to park in Car Park W2 or S1 upon arrival. The parking is chargeable. Payment is taken by RingGo or by calling 0203 046 0010.
Q) Someone else has ordered the tickets, but they are for me, is there anything I can do?
A) Yes, of course. Please email craigwood@onlyfools.net with this information so we can ensure our Registration Database is updated and allows your smooth entry into the event.
Q) I have purchased a SILVER / BRONZE ticket that doesn’t include a signed Sir David Jason montage, can I purchase one on the day?
A) All GOLD ticket holders will receive a Convention Montage signed by Sir David Jason. Any ticket holders purchasing SILVER or BRONZE tickets are able to purchase a signed Convention Montage subject to availability on the day. There are no autograph opportunities across the weekend with Sir David Jason.
Q) I have purchased a ticket that doesn’t include an autograph from Sir David, can I purchase an autograph?
A) Unfortunately due to the time constraints, no autograph purchases for Sir David will be able to be made in advance or on the day.
Q) I am in a wheelchair – does the venue have good disabled access?
A) Yes – the venue is fully DDA compliant with wheelchair friendlies access/egress points to and from the Suite we shall be in.
Q) I have an Under 14 Child I’d like to bring to the event, can I?
A) Unfortunately for our 2024 Convention, this event will be an Adults Only Event.
Q) Will food and drink be available on site to purchase?
A) There will be a bar at the venue for you to purchase soft drinks & snacks (there will be no alcohol served at the show). A light lunch is included for every full paying ticket holder. It is important to note that the Hotel is a Cashless Hotel – they will only accept Card Payments.
Q) I have purchased a Karaoke Ticket, what does that include?
A) Following on from recent successes, we are delighted to return with the Karaoke on the Saturday Night. It will commence around 7pm and finish by 12pm (midnight). Each ticket includes access to the karaoke and an evening meal (hot buffet selection chosen by the venue). You must ensure that you are attending the Convention on either day to be able to attend the Karaoke. NO SELFIES / AUTOGRAPHS will be signed by any Star Guests who attend the Karaoke – please allow them to enjoy their evening.
Other guest actors in attendance WILL be signing any items of your choice including Props and Van Doors.
Please note there will be NO endorsements at the Convention. Sir David or our Society will not endorse any person or company. Anyone found attempting to endorse themselves or their business will be stopped and will be asked to leave the Convention. Please respect all attending and do not attempt any kind of Endorsement.
ALL ACTORS ARE CONFIRMED AT THE TIME TO APPEAR, BUT SUBJECT TO WORK COMMITMENTS. ACTOR GUEST APPEARANCES MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND WILL BE ANNOUNCED ACCORDINGLY – DIFFERENT ACTORS WILL BE BOOKED FOR DIFFERENT DAYS. IF ANY GUEST ACTOR WITHDRAWS, THE EVENT WILL STILL TAKE PLACE, AND A NEW ACTOR CONFIRMED ACCORDINGLY. IF SIR DAVID JASON IS UNABLE TO ATTEND, THE CONVENTION WILL NOT TAKE PLACE AND ALL TICKETS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW DATE / REFUNDED.

Joan Trotter was a Charlton fan – We all know Rodney inherited his middle name Charlton.
