Classic Flick: Juice (1992)

2013-09-12T16:11:00.000-04:00

Tupac's first lead role in a film came in 1992's Juice, and it turned out to be one of his best performances. The movie follows a gang of youth's growing up in Harlem, and how growing up in that environment influences a tailspin into criminal activity and violence. Definitely a must watch, and a classic piece of hip hop culture.

Today's throwback jam is Eminem's "Infinite", the title track off of his debut album of the same name. This is a lesser known track from Slim Shady, but it serves as a lyrical coming out party for one of most vicious wordsmiths to ever grip a mic. Kick back and vibe out to this one.

Artist To Watch: SZA

2013-09-10T20:56:00.002-04:00

A few weeks back we introduced you to TDE's newest male signee, Isaiah Rashad. This is their newest female signee, SZA. The wildly talented crooner, who just recently entered the music scene in 2012, describes her style as "glitter trap". The first thing that came to my mind was The Weeknd when I heard her spacey, booming beat selection from the likes of Wondagurl (Jay Z's "Crown") and Dave Free (multiple Kendrick Lamar tracks) amongst others. Check out a couple cuts from her below, and be sure to browse through her Soundcloud as well.

This 32 second clip is straight balla. A procession of luxury cars including his million dollar Bugatti, Lamborghini, Rolls, and Maybach with the Canadian flag being proudly exemplified. The beat in the backdrop is courtesy of Hit Boy and Rey Reel via Twitter.

NWTS drops in two weeks. Could quite possibly be the most anticipated hip-hop album of the year. Drizzy is sure shot pokin' you in your sore spot.

I must admit, I was certainly fooled.

Damn you Jimmy Kimmel

Lil Wayne Confirms He Will Retire At 35

2013-09-10T17:32:00.000-04:00

I have a feeling there's some mixed emotions from the hip hop community on this one, considering how some people have felt about Wayne's music lately. We'll see if he hold true to this statement, but judging from the clip above he's more than ready to put down the mic.

Kanye West- Bound 2 (Live)

2013-09-10T17:02:00.001-04:00

Kanye made an unscheduled appearance on Jimmy Fallon to perform my favorite cut off Yeezus. Backed by the legendary Roots crew and alongside Charlie Wilson, this was an incredible performance. Also, listen for the Ray J diss he sneaks in at the beginning.

"Brandy lil sister lame and he know it now."
