I wore this to watch Mamma Mia (my all time favorite musical) with my family last Saturday Afternoon and I seriously missed my peaches and cream pastel dreams thus the very soft hued outfit. I love dressing sweet and considering I was feeling quite bad this day, dressing up was definitely a mood lifter. My top is ultimately perfect for gloomy weather as it is very warm and fuzzy and I contrasted the texture with flowy chiffon with my skirt.

Quiet Nights Out.

I have a confession: I haven't been going out much (thus the lack of blog posts!) It's been happening for the past 2 weeks but I reckon I find myself enjoying my time at the gym and at home or working at the store more fulfilling. People have noticed the very evident paradigm shift but it seems that I'm growing up and outgrowing the boozed up rubbing elbows at a crowded bar stage. Call it domestication, at its finest, but I am definitely enjoying this new so-called "me", sipping on my juju and wheatgrass rather than empty calories in an alcoholic cocktail. Even my household staff have taken notice on my very tame new side.

On this particular Friday night, however, I decided to go out of my comfort zone to meet up with my friend at a nearby wine and tapas bar. It was an early night but definitely lots of fun! It was a refreshing change, but trust me, I am in no position to trade in my workout gear for clubbing wear just yet....

Black and Blue.

Here's one trick I always love to repeat when wearing statement accessories: I let it stand out by pairing it with a monochromatic outfit so as to highlight and accentuate the rather bold piece rather than by drowning it out with an even bolder outfit. Sometimes, all you need is the right accessory to make your outfit a stand out and such being the case, it can make or break your look.

For this outfit I chose a stunning mineral bib necklace from Nicole Whisenhunt (which I bought over 2 years ago) and used an all black outfit to provide bacdrop to the look.

The all black top and bottom had a somewhat jumpsuit effect as it seemed to be one whole outfit altogether! I love this pair of highwaisted pants from my friends' Audrey and Kato's brand, Moonshine which is basically my favorite black pants in my closet right now.

For the accessories, I chose a blue hued vintage navy blue and gold Versace belt which I inherited from my mother's collection....

And for the shoes, well I played it up with a more playful electric shade which I got from DAS. I balanced this out by my equally playful colorful Murakami bag from Louis Vuitton.

For makeup, fuchsia lips never fail me!

Clashing and Combining Designers, Inspirations and Colors

Manila, Philippines – January 2011 – Visions of varying hues will inspire viewers as a wonderful presentation of colors and designs will emanate from each designer’s creation.

For the fourth challenge, the remaining MEGA Young Designers must come up with pieces inspired by the colors of 2012. To test their ability to work with each other, all ten designers will be grouped to form a color inspired collection. Each group must stick to one primary color for the entire collection.

The upcoming “Color Challenge” will bring out the uniqueness in the design of each designer as they work with the same primary color inspiration of their team.

Can the designers work it out harmoniously? Or will it be a disaster of shades?

A special color will be chosen to be the only accent, adding style to the pieces they will create. To gather their much needed inspiration for the collection, the designers will be sent to one of the busiest spots of Quezon City.

Still, another challenge awaits these designers. For this challenge, presentation will be an utmost and crucial requirement.

Which designer will show the pieces to appease the tone of judgment of the fashion council?

Feeling a bit monotonous and in the mood for casual and conservative dressing, I oped for a black and white outfit for a simple day of errands and fabric shopping for my Summer collection for my brand Glitterati, which will be out very very soon. I kept everything minimal with a white and black bell sleeved 3/4 top which provides major coverage and showed some skin and added a casual twist to the rather intricate top by pairing it with plain black shorts. Accessorized with bows, bows and more bows with my chiffon Topshop wedges, bow studded necklace and a bow headpiece. Broke the monotone with a vibrant red shade of lipstick. It's nice to keep it simple, on some days!

Spring Awakening.

Decided to go for a conservative and retro look with this vintage inspired outfit which was subconsciously influenced by The Help- one of my fave movies of 2011 and Zooey Deschanel's sweet girl take on the '5os - '60s era. The top is a cropped button down with a waist tie detail (Daisy Duke would be proud). I paired this with a full floral skirt which had a beautiful mix of citrus hues, which I got circa 2005 from a College friend. I cinched it then with a beige vintage belt from mom (as it was too loose) and finished off with neutral accessories and an orange hued pair of satin shoes from Zara.

Keep the look classic and clean and in line with the theme with pearl accessories

A bright hued shoe is a must in every girl's closet and can wake up even a pastel outfit...

Shimmy and shake in a floral skirt with dainty prints. Add a belt to cinch it perfectly.

A neutral toned bag will fit any outfit.. I especially love my Marc Jacobs Stam Bag!

For my makeup, I used orange-reddish lipstick and kept everything simple. My hair was a chic braided up-do so as not to distract attention from the details of my outfit.

Back at the Barre

For those of you who do not know, I am complete and total fitness freak. Yes, I mix fashion and fitness as my top interests. It's weird, really but I have always been quite the gym rat. For this year, I decided to go back to Barre3 which I took a 4 month long hiatus from as I needed strength training and recently added TRX and Circuit Training to my list of activities. Since it's a new year, I decided to go back to the barre while maintaining my regular gym routine with my personal trainer, Benedict.

Last week was total FITNESS and SELF IMPROVEMENT WEEK for me. I went on the GM Diet and shed a good 8-10 lbs. and went to exercise EVERDAY. So far, it was MWF of Strength Training and TThSS of Barre3. Seven days straight of exercise! I never felt this good (or light) in my life. For Tuesday's Barre3 class, I decided to document my outfit and this was what I came up with...

I will always EMPHASIZE comfort over style and sass when working out. Fashion, of course, is your last concern when exercising. But then again, nothing, even a sweaty workout class is an excuse to be sloppy. So I invest in a few essentials which help me not fall into "Fashion Victim" category when I work out. Leave the worn out oversized shirts with holes in them at home and wear the appropriate gym attire, if you must!

My essentials include: wide rimmed sunnies especially for sunny days, an oversized cardigan or shirt to layer over your workout gear, easy to move in jogging pants and a sports bra that will allow maximum flexibility and won't constrain or limit movement. For a little bit of pizzazz, I like adding a scarf for effect but remove it when working out.

Normally, I would wear my Niker rubber shoes when hitting the gym but since this was Barre3 (where we do training in sticky socks), I opted for ballet flats. My favorite pair is my snakeskin Yosi Samra ballet flats as they are so comfortable.

I only use a dab of concealer and tinted moisturizer when working out. I also add on a bit of cheek tint (I have the classic pale face dilemma where I look like a ghost without color in my face without this) and lipstain. Also, I like to keep my hair in a tidy ponytail, hair bun or braids to make sure it stays out of my face.

The Studio is World Class. Well-lit with a lot of space and mirrors so you can correct and check your posture at all times. It reminds me of a ballet studio, which makes sense since most exercises are very much ballet based.

Fashion Statements for the Changing Weathers of the Philippines

Manila, Philippines – January 2011 – Two challenges are done with only 13 aspiring designers making it through the last cuts. Five designers were already eliminated as the challenges in MEGA’s Young Designers Competition (YDC) 2012 heat up. In a surprising twist, three designers were sent home during the last challenge since they failed to show a fashion forecast fit for 2012.

The weather of the country urges fashionistas to be more practical with their choice of clothes. From the “Proud to Be Me” and the “Fashion Forecast” challenge, the remaining designers will showcase pieces that can be worn for both the dry and wet season of the Philippines. Midway through the competition, who has survived?

As they unveil their versatile outfits, the designers are aware that getting the fashion council’s nod has already become harder. Every detail will be scrutinized and three designers will once again be out of the competition.

I will not say anymore regarding the quote posted above except that it is something I live by and wish to share to other people who have dealt with their own share of negativity and still decided to go on and do what they do. Only the marvelous!

Anyway, I decided to wear pants on a hectic Sunday out to Rockwell which was essentially a jungle that day. It was so full and stressful (especially to find parking) that day since everyone decided to go there due to the mall wide Sale. But since it is a tradition for me and my brother to spend Sundays (mass + dinner) there, we braved the crowd and survived.

My accessories are stacked up necklaces from Glimmer which compliment the leopard details of my outfit to a tee--- Wore my chain leather Stam Bag as well
.

As for my trousers, I decided to heed to the call of the wild in this pair of leopard print trousers from Jam of Fashion Galore
I've been supporting this brand since 2006 and even got to model for them once!

My makeup is a mixture of brown tones in my eyes and MAC's Creme Sheen pale lipstick so as not to overpower the already busy look with the pants.

My shoes are a contrast to the animalistic theme of the look. I know it may be weird to pair lace with leopard but somehow it worked. I love this pair of wedges (which are almost heel-less) from So Fab! Aren't they just divine? More so, they are light to wear (not at all heavy considering its a wedge) and are VERY VERY VERY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR!
