Not sure when they'll air on Nat Geo, I never get their schedules. Let me know when you see one in Singapore or Australia etc. If you missed em' don't worry as you may know On Surfari gets re-run quite a bit, in fact we're about to hit 1,000 airs on FuelTV this June. That's over 41 days of On Surfari! Both episodes are very special to me in different ways and both have quite different themes. The 2 important aspects of On Surfari are -1) Unique exploration and 2)being a conduit for humanitarian efforts. Sometimes they go well together in one episode, sometimes they divide into two episodes like they did with Nicaragua and Russia. Nica for example exemplified Shannon's and I's passion for seeking out creative and inspiring humantarian efforts, helping out, and most importantly letting the world know these people need you to take part. We weren't discovering waves down in Nica, far from it- in fact one time I surfed a wave with 30 people on it and at least 1/2 of them came up to me and said they enjoyed watching On Surfari! Russia on the other hand was about as out there as you can get for surf exploration. A true frontier of surfing, where you're discovering waves, and finding yourself the only foreigner in town. That was the 2nd time I've surfed Russia and it's by far my favorite place to go on a surf trip. Sounds weird as it's a bit fickle, and dificult to travel through- but the lineups are empty, the environment at times very serene, other times sketchy, and almost always bizarre- just a very full plate of adventure. Currently Shannon and I are at home trying to be good parents to Banyan &amp; Coral, getting some surfs in, and I'm working on editing some New Pollution (FuelTV) segments I shot with Matt Beacham, and starting to plan for On Surfari in 09'. We ironically haven't gone to Africa for our show yet, so that's on the list, as well as a Pacific Island or two, haven't made it that way for the show either. Lastly, Europe's calling again, and though the Euro dollar is quite strong, I think we can do a little shoestring budgeting and have a fun trip somewhere....

Nicaragua & Russia

A lot's happened since I wrote last- Good news, we just finished up filming in Nicaragua & Russia. Nicaragua was an amazing experience that God really led us to- the waves were unbelievable, but there was so much there to take in. Russia was a re-visit for me (Shannon and the kids didn't come along) to remote Siberian islands where there's Soviet tanks steamrolling along the beach, and salmon in the waves...we had an amazing, grueling trip, both shows are due out in January. Sorry we're making just a few shows here and there- we'd love to do more- just tell FuelTV!- hookup@fuel.tv Today I'm busy editing the Nicaragua episode- so pray that all goes well! Thank all of you for your compliments and polite criticisms- they're appreciated and read. Haven't been able to respond to everyone as much as we'd like but juggling 2 kiddies is quite an adventure in itself. - Shayne

Puerto Rico whoa!

"Isla Del Encanto"- "Island of Enchantment"- says my license plate over here, and that's why Shannon, the kids, and I keep coming back. It's nice to be home, dusting off a few things, getting in the water every day, life's just simpler here. It's great to slow down so we can focus on our upcoming trips and Shannon and I promise to start bringing everyone more On Surfari shows than ever. We're also working on a new site that I know you'll be stoked on. Did I mention our baby girl? Her name is "Coral," and we think goes quite well with "Banyan," our sons name. Our boy loves her and takes his duty of protecting & loving her quite serious. Shannon and I are so blessed with these kids- we're not worthy, but feel thankful and understand the responsibility of taking care of these gifts from God. They'll both be in tow in the upcoming trips, so we'll see how steady we can hold the cameras for ya! Thanks everyone out there for your kind and inspiring words via email- we appreciate all of you and that you took time to say hi. We're going to name our girl "Coral." We were thinking "Coco" for a while but in PUerto Rico that means "coconut," and may not fly to well with friends. People already think our son, "Banyan," sounds like "Bano," which mean "bathroom!" Oh well. So were doing good, just anxious and been swamped by the bad weather in SD and tons of paperwork! I hate paperwork, so much stuff to organize, keep track of, I'm on a mission to simplify it all though. The first step that we made to downgrade our paperwork is to not be in debt! So except for our house that's where were at- and I have to say the best way to get on the road and travel is to get out of debt. No not very easy but Shannon and I find our ways even if we have to Ebay a bunch of junk to take care of some nagging debt. Anyway, lots of stuff in the works- like seriously updating this website and making it more interactive including downloading free shows- ones you can't see on tv. There's a lot more to it but I hold off until I actually do it! Travel wise, looking to some odd places- thank you everyone who have submitted ideas, however no one has seemed to figure it out. Oh well, I guess it's better to keep it under wraps anyway. Anybody enjoy our latest show on Indonesia? I hope you are all well out there in the world, thanks for watching our show and keeping us inspired!<br />Shayne

Merry Christmas!

San Diego's rocked with some surf, but I can't wait to get back to Puerto Rico. It's weird to be homesick when I'm in the town I grew up in. Don't get me wrong, I love San Diego, its just not for me anymore for so many reasons. We had a small showing of our new episode (out in January 08') at a "Ugly Sweater Christmas Party." It was a toy drive for "Toys for Joy," where people brought a new toy to the party and you got in- all toys going to disadvantaged children in San Diego. Pretty cool- everybody seemed to like the show- but I don't know- I always want to make you laugh and cry, we'll see- the waves are by far the best we've ever had for an On Surfari episode so that's good news. Been thinking about where to go next...don't want to give it away, maybe I'll mention somewhere warm, anyone guess? And after that somewhere really cold...? If anyone actually read all this, and emails us their guess and gets one right- I'll send them a DVD of the new episode that hasn't even aired yet. God Bless you this Christmas.- Shayne

Merry Christmas!

Doubly good new for Christmas...Finally done editing that pesky new episode on Indonesia- and it will air this January. The other double double is the waves are good size here in San Diego - not real big, but nice to have some size. I've got an 8'1" Skip Frye gun I got off Ebay and have been wanting to get it into the water. I'll have to save it for another day. Hope you are all doing well! Sitting here looking out a small window into the great outdoors, logging footage and dreaming up how our new show should be. Lots of great stuff to put in, and a lot will be left on the cutting room floor. I have over 22 hours to make a 22 minute show, so I'm hunting for that best minute of footage...day in day out, waves are small though so it's not so bad- just hate being in front of the computer all day like this. Thank you for all of your kind words and you time to let us know what you think- sorry it takes me forever to write back- but Banyan keeps me plenty busy.<br /><br />Life can start going a little faster than you can run, and somehow last week, Shannon, Banyan, and I were all in different parts of the States...Shannon at the Christian Surfer's Conference in Cocoa Beach,FL., Banyan with Grandma & Grandpa in SD, and I up in San Fran & Santa Cruz with the QuikSilverEdition team getting a couple of waves and standing around in come cool duds for the new Fall campaign. But my mind is drifting back to the amazing time in Indonesia (though I got tore up by coral, beat up by a Sumbanese boxing champ, and bit by a monkey), and I still have to edit the show together before Dec 1st! I'm procrastinating and can't figure why...Lots of stuff to juggle as well as a lot has happened lately...<br /><br />Other than that, trying to keep up the pace, focus on getting back to Puerto Rico, and praying for God's guidance in my life.

In Indonesia

I try my best to avoid computers when on the road but here I am because I want to say hi- and Shannon, Banyan, and I are in Indonesia filming our next episode for On Surfari. I'm sure they are both getting along with each other a lot better now, and Shannon and I are so blessed and are in gratitude to our Lord, Jesus Christ, that he has welcomed them into Heaven for eternity- their true home. This last year has opened my mind and heart to the brevity of life, and I have come to the realization that life is a temporary assignment, our true home is in Heaven, which we were designed for, and that we will spend much much more time there than here. Shannon and I are of course overwhelmed, sad, spaced out, and just trying to make it through each day...but do not be concerned, the joy of my heart for my parents salvation is a victory over this tragedy, and they are both in the shelter of the most high God, their creator. Thank you again for your love, patience, and prayers with my family and our apologies for not being there for you as much as we would have liked this last year.<br /><br />Phillipians 3:20 "For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ..."<br /><br />God Bless you,<br />The McIntyres<br /><br />PS. My Mom and Dad were both stoked on On Surfari, so it's going to be my honor to keep making new shows for them, for us, and for you...we're leaving late August, it's a surprise.

Epic Night!

Shannon, Banyan, and I had such a great time at La Jolla Surfer's Fellowship last night. They had a band called the "Absens," which is a couple La Jolla Highschool kids- and they killed it! Full Metallica meets Jesus. They'll be on iTunes in a couple of weeks. We showed our Baja episode and everyone was stoked- I do always wonder if they applaude just to make me feel better or if they really liked it though- funny how you can be insecure about stuff like that. Kahana and Wes (surfer and filmer) for Baja turned up, and Banyan grabbed one of the kids sk8boards and was charging outside trying to go off curbs and stuff- and he's not even 3 yet. And last but not least Jonathan "I'm famous because I'm the dopey surfer guy in the Jack in the Box commercial that's aired a million times" appeared, but only for a moment to give his approval and promote his Niz clothing. It's a great crew to be with- and the guys who run the Fellowship I've known for 20 years- as we all came to know our creator across the street going to a surfer's fellowship. So much potential in that room last night with all those kids. I'm praying for them- they are the light in this dark world.

Surf Lessons! and...

For a limited time this Summer, Shannon and I will be giving 3 hour private surf lessons at various surfing beaches in San Diego. Contact us if you are interested. Hanging in here, lots of planning (ie. sitting in front of a computer) for upcoming On Surfari trips, some new sites we're working on, and upcoming trip to help film/surf in a new Christian Surfer's movie coming out next year. Thanks for all of your emails everyone! We love the support and feedback! Sounds like On Surfari is playing in South America tons. Stoked!<br />Shayne

Planning Planning Planning

Getting some emails from Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay...from On Surfari airing on National Geographic, stoked. I would love to see it translated- maybe there's a rough smoker guy translating over my voice- classic. Shannon and I are hanging tight in San Diego waiting for waves, working on her art career, and can't wait to get on some trips this Summer. So far looks like a long season in Indo, may try to push over a month's time, then onto somewhere north of there...couple projects over there all going at the same time...maybe an On Surfari episode?!?!? I'm starting to think podcasting new shows...anyone up for that?

Just got back from an amazing drive up and down the West Coast of the US. Oregon was particularly beautiful but the waves were too big and wild- some places 20feet and wind whipped, saw the house where they shot the Goonies...maybe someday we'll go On Surfari in Oregon. The locals probably wouldn't like that though. Banyan handled amazingly well the whole way, we definately stopped to play in the sand and in parks to give him a break. We ended up opening a lot of stores with Shannon's art prints, so you can now find her art prints from San Diego to Seaside, Oregon on the West Coast in just about every surf shop and gallery. Another thing we're absolutely stoked on...On Surfari has been picked up by National Geographic International, so our show will be airing worldwide and probably in a lot of countries we have visited. Hope they like the show (little nervous). Other than that, just planning a couple trips for On Surfari to... Lastly I was shooting for Outside's "Go" magazine in Dana Point last Sunday, and a On Surfari viewer, Kelly, came up and introduced himself...thanks for the stoke on the show Kelly.

<p><strong>New Website</strong><br />Finally stayed in one place long enough to get this website up (with the help of our music guru/html master, Chad, and hope you enjoy it. Shannon and I also want to say thank you to everyone who enjoy's watching On Surfari...you're the reason we do what we do. We're in San Diego at the moment getting ready for a 2 week drive up to Washington State for some surf, selling Shannon's art prints, and whatever else happens.</p><p>We shot for FuelTV's Daily Habit talk show, and I believe it airs on the 20th &amp; 21st.
