Hi, I’m Steve, welcome to my first blog post!

Working with new homes has been my passion for many years. So, it feels fitting to have a blog where ideas, trends and whatever else might be related to new homes and new home communities can be shared.

I’ll begin with a little personal background. My wife, Kathi, and I live in Parrish, Florida a quaint little village town conveniently located just south of Tampa, a little east of Bradenton, and just north of Sarasota. When we first bought our home in 2012, Parrish felt very rural compared to our former home in Sarasota. Afterall, this was just what we wanted. We loved sitting outdoors in the evening and hearing cows in the pasture just over the thick tree line behind our home. Well, things have changed! Today over 23,000 new homes (that’s right) have been approved for future construction in the area. Now, not only are new communities springing up, but 4 new schools are being constructed around us. And yes, the cows are now gone!

My career began with a large national homebuilder in sales. I loved the work and found it very gratifying helping families realize one of their biggest dreams – owning a new home. As my career continued, I was fortunate to gain experience working for three different, highly regarded, homebuilding operations; including a major west coast builder and land developer, an international master planned project team, and arguably Florida’s most widely known name in home design and franchised construction. Together they have helped me develop a special appreciation for new homes and how the process of development and home construction works.

My goal for this blog is not only to give personal insight, but mostly to engage those professionals who are part of the new home industry helping to make dreams come true – and to share with you what they have to offer. And finally, to listen to and learn from readers who care to talk about what’s on their minds when it comes to new homes (and communities!). The field is wide open, and we all have much to discover.

So for now, to commemorate this first blog here’s a image I hope you’ll enjoy.
