I tested the MS Windows 7 beta and RC1. And I would rather use MS Windows 7 beta that MS Windows Vista. Windows 7 is much faster and much more comfortable that Vista. And you have tha subjective fealing that your system is running faster than with Vista. I tryed Windows 7 with my Notebook (no further driver needet to install - IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad R61i with 3GB RAM and Core2Duo with 1,5GHz) was fastern than Vista ond my newer Notebook (IBM/Lenove ThinkPad SL500 with 4GB and Core2Duo 2,4GHz).
After that test I downgrade Vista ----> Windows XP .... much better! :)

But I also look forward to use Windows 7. The new processors are being shipped ahead of schedule and promises faster performance while using 35 percent less power consumption.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc is shipping its next generation of AMD Opteron chips ahead of schedule. The new AMD processor offers faster performance with 35 percent less power consumption.

AMD Opteron is a quad core processor which are used in servers. The company shipped the new processor months ahead of schedule to compete with rival Intel Corp. Intel currently has 80 percent of the global market for microprocessors.

The new AMD Opteron is also code-named "Shanghai" which was first unveiled last year. The quad core is the first 45-nanometer chip made by the company. Each core operates independently on the chip. The chip is also smaller in size than the previous generation of processors.

The new processor is energy efficient which can automatically turn off non-working parts which are not in use. Overall, the new chip uses 35 percent less energy.

There are two versions of the AMD Opteron chip available. The second processor is a more enhanced version which will be available at the end of the month. IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems and Dell are among 25 systems vendors who will be shipping servers this quarter with the new Opteron chip installed.

Dell earnings down!

That is real hard for Dell because they earnings down 64 percent from last year!

The PC maker announced Thursday it recorded a net income of $290 million for the first quarter of fiscal year 2010, and earnings of 24 cents per share, or 15 cents per share when accounting for write downs from severance pay and factory closings during the quarter. That's down 63 percent from the $784 million, and 38 cents per share recorded a year ago. Revenues were also down 23 percent to $12.3 billion.

Analysts on average had been expecting revenue of $12.66 billion, and earnings between 19 cents and 27 cents per share.

"It started out as a slow first (fiscal) quarter. It picked up a bit in the second half of the quarter," Chief Financial Officer Brian Gladden said on a call with reporters Thursday. But he said it was "still a challenging IT demand environment" and emphasized that Dell is not yet ready to say that the drop in demand has yet reached its lowest point.

Dell has been saying for the last few quarters that since its core customer base--corporate IT departments--are being battered by the economy, it would try to focus on internal housekeeping tasks like cutting expenses and operating costs. Gladden said the company's operating expenses had fallen by $101 million from the previous quarter and by $312 million from a year ago.

Despite that, Dell is still facing major challenges. Revenues decreased in every major business unit significantly, though a relatively bright spot appeared to be the consumer group. Consumer revenue was down 16 percent to $2.8 billion, and consumer shipments rose 12 percent from a year ago. It's been spending much more on research and development on products down in Round Rock, Texas, and produced yet another Netbook, and more notebook models--including the high-priced Adamo--during the quarter.

Firth 1GHz GPU

AMD is the first manufacturer to deliver a 1 GHZ graphics through its ATI Radeon 4890 graphics card. ATI's Radeon HD 4890 has so far proved to be one of the fastest single-GPU videocards on the market. The closest performing counterpart from NVIDIA, the Geforce GTX 285, is significantly more expensive. Combine that with the ability to play pretty much any game at 1920 x 1200 resolution with all eye candy options turned to their maximum, and the ASUS EAH4890 HTDI/1GD5/A is a compelling videocard for anyone who's serious about having a high-quality gaming experience.

Integrated Chipsets Today

Enthusiasts used to fear the “integrated” moniker, as it generally meant both pathetic performance and inflexibility, regardless of whether the chipset was provided by AMD, Intel, Nvidia, SiS, VIA, or someone else. But those days are now long past. Even the cheapest desktop system you can get today will be fast enough to browse the Web, work on office files, and play multimedia content.

Today’s integrated chipsets not only include relatively flexible graphics units, they also come with quick network controllers, plenty of USB and storage interfaces, and limited--but still available--upgrade paths. Many of them can even be paired with high-performance processors, turning these systems into fairly muscular desktop PCs.

Skype for iPhone

Apple has been guarded about adding iPhone apps that perform functions its built-in features handle: The absence of third-party choice in browsers is one good example. Yet, although there's hardly a more core function of the device than making calls, a few VoIP apps have made the cut. Now you can include Skype in that number. Why is Skype for iPhone (and iPod Touch) a big deal? Consider this: On a recent bus ride from New York to Boston, I found that the vehicle had its own Wi-Fi signal. So, if I'd wanted to, I could have talked with my friend in London for free during the whole journey. iPhone users can now make free calls anywhere they have WiFi access, without lugging a laptop. And they still get Skype's trademark slick interface design and clear call quality.

Firefox 3.0.8

Firefox 3.0.8 is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux users as a free download. Often the date is April 1. Malware creators love to target April Fool's Day with their wares, and the latest worm, called Conficker C, could be one of the most damaging attacks we've seen in years. Conficker first bubbled up in late 2008 and began making headlines in January as known infections topped 9 million computers. Now in its third variant, Conficker C, the worm has grown incredibly complicated, powerful, and virulent.
The "D-Day" should be the April 1, but no one is really sure when it will be exactly! So be careful and keep your Antivirusprogram up to date!

WW

Computer Services

In today´s world the demand for a fast and high quality service in computer technology grows and grows. Maybe that depending on what we understand under the word free. So what I can offer to you, is to get traffic without to pay for it. Now you are asking so where is the trick or the hidden trap on it? I promise there is no – but of course it is not absolutely ´free´ - you only have to do some work – like other, that´s all. Please read the story about Traffic Booster and you will see it is worth to do it! You can have ha 320GB or even a 500GB 2,5” HDD only for some bucks more than a 250GB drive. But an SSD would cost more than twice as much.
A quite cheap SSD with good transfer rates is about 30GB which you can have for about $100. But in the next few years that will change. The manufacturers expect SSD prices hit the same level as hard drives of the same capacity in the near future. And a 256GB SSD will be available this year but still for a high price I think.

Online Ticket Service

The winter get to its end, the snow melt away and the nature awakes. It is not only the modern dynamic style of the car, the high quality but also the feeling of safety while siting inside. But why I should now talk long around? The best is you will have a look and visit Phoenix Mercedes Benz. But now MIT professor Gerbrand Ceder and fellow researcher Byoungwoo Kang have developed a battery material they say can both discharge and recharge its energy up to 100 times faster than of today´s batteries. So we could be able to charge a cellphone battery within a few seconds. That also could help to develop cars powered with batteries. They developed a new lithium iron phosphate particles in a glassy film (lithium pyrophosphate) just a few nanometers thick. New batteries should be available within 2 or 3 years.

CeBit 2009 Results

The CeBit in Hannover (Germany) is now over and with 400,000 visitors there were 100,000 less than last year, that is a loss of 20 per cent. Among the features highlighted by the manufacturer, I can count the fact that it is the first dual processor ATX motherboard in the world, which fits perfectly into any standard PC chassis.

In addition, it has 24+8 pin power connector with support for both ATX and SSI power supplies. The standard ATX power supply is meant to reduce the costs, while the server SSI power supply is able to deliver enhanced performance and expandability. Moreover, the board allows for a wide range of processors and memory modules to be installed.

The ASUS Z8NA-D6 motherboard is able to provide support for next-generation Intel Quad-Core Xeon 5500 series processors, and features the Intel 5500 chipset + ICH10R.
