Ookull.com as trend analysis engine for Twitter India is no more. Some of the reasons are that

* Twitter now provides some of these features.

* Some of the other features such as popular news is not popular.

There were definitely a few patrons for ookull that kept me going but it is no longer sustainable to run this. Thanks everyone who found ookull interesting!

I am moving on to another project in the soical media realm, this time related to social games, hope to see you all soon in another virtual world.

www.OOkuLL.com made an interesting update today. Weekly Digest will now be the landing page. This is because we are seeing more interest in this section. This section is useful for those who are satisfied with a weekly update of what is happening in Twitter rather than a real time update.

www.OOkuLL.com released a new feature where users can log-in and manage a profile based on favorite and popular stories in Twitter.

How it works:

You can own a page in OOkuLL, for e.g., http://OOkuLL.com/users/naveen_jp. This page will show stories that where marked as Favorites by you in Twitter. This page will also show popular stories posted by you in Twitter. Here you can also manage(add/delete) additional notes/commentary to each of the stories. Other users can comment on your notes/commentary.

Since the notes/commentary are stored in Disqus, you can be sure that your content will be safe and portable.

www.OOkuLL.com released a new feature today that would display tweeps who contribute popular content (News, Blogs, etc.) in Twitter India. The old feature of Trending Tweeps and Trending Celeb Tweeps has been replaced with this new feature.

A tweep will show up in this list in the following cases -
1/ if a link that is posted by the tweep is re-tweeted heavily
2/ if there are many tweets that mention the tweep and the link
In short, tweeps who post information about popular content will show up in this list of "Top Contributors to Trending Stories".

www.ookull.com now presents Weekly and Daily views of what is happening in

The Weekly digest serves as a weekly magazine where the most important events of
the week (based on popularity) are served. For people like me, this ensures
that I don't miss out on important events though I may not check on events on a

We (at Lisle Technology Partners (www.lisletech.com)) recently made a pre-alpha
release of Ookull. Ookull is a real-time search/discovery service. Ookull
attempts to provide a comprehensive view of real-time information that you might
be searching/discovering. I think it is simple to use; please go ahead and play
around with it. You could also refer to the About page of Ookull for details on
the unique features of Ookull.
