The Rag was an independent newspaper / periodical that was around Austin in the 60s. It had a political agenda. In this 1966 (exact date unknown) photo is George Vizard and his wife Mariann on The University Of Texas Drag in Austin. It wasn’t long after George was murdered in a store robbery.

This photo is also around the same time Charles Whitman went up to the clock tower and went on a mass murder spree Augist 1st 1966. The UT clock tower is just across the street from where this photo was taken. Curious if it was before or after the Charles Whitman incident?

It might look like a fairly easy job but during busy times it can be overwhelming, Show them the love, respect and appreciation that you would expect if you were in their position. A large percentage here in Austin are students working to help pay for their education, lodging etc…

The worst is being in a bar with one small bathroom. Especially on a crowded weekend night. Opal Divines bars in Austin all have big restrooms. You don’t have to squeeze your legs together, grit your teeth, or bang your head against the wall in pain. Walk right in, step right up. The ladies facilities are very accommodating also.
