Sorry to bug you all - but I am finally getting to outting in the Pertronix Ignitor... and all seemed to fit in the distributor just fine... til I got to putting the rotor back in...

It seems to be riding high... I can put the distributor cap back on, but I do not think the rotor is seated down enough to engage the nub inside which holds it to the distributor axle position. I put the magnet sleeve on exactly as instructed, finding the squarish orientation and seating it down as far as possible (which aligns well with the detector that replaced the points; I put the accompanying spacer in the stack BTW).... The magnet sleeve has a lip which of course I have pointing upward (only way it'll go in anyway).

So any ideas what I am doing wrong or need to do? Maybe I need to push harder on the magnet, but it does look fully seated... The Ignitor is a # 1847V (Bosch 4 cyl, and Pertronix knows it is for my 73 GT when they sent it)..

Thanks!!!

I was surfing around for some parts for the Kadett B Wagon I just purchased and found a German forum dedicated to just Kadett B's. They had a link for suppliers and this was one. Lots of Opel parts are listed. They have parts for other makes and models too. For the Opels there are lots of parts including rubber, body panel patches, full body panels, lenses, scripts, poly bushings, bumpers, carpets, headliners. Looks to me that their prices are inline with Reprotec and Dr. Manta. I think some prices are quite a bit better. Sent them a email to see if they will ship to the U.S. but have not heard anything as of yet. Late in the day and a Friday to boot. I have not read anything here about them so thought I would post.

Hello. It's been a while since my last posting and I'm back with a problem: during the last run of the season my engine began missfiring and losing power. Found nearly 0 pressure in no 4 cilynder due to a cracked CF21 solid lifter from Kent Cams - in february 2009 I went for their OP264 camshaft together with followers and ran them ~500 km for breaking in and ~100 km in racing conditions (only 2 events due to low budget issues).
I sent to Kent Cams some pics and this story getting this answer:
"Dear Sir,

Thank you for your recent E-mail ,looking at your photos it difficult to be 100% accurate in the reason for failure, however it looks like the follower has suffered some heavy side loading, the reason I say this is because this product it very strong in a compression state, which is it's natural working environment.

If you would like further investigation, please return the part to either the company you bought from, our directly to our company

Best regards,

Del Johnson,

Kent Performance Camshafts Ltd."

Wenting further but with my own investigation I found another follower with a loose tap. I strongly believe that it's a manufacture problem, the margin suporting the tap beeing uneven (0,3 mm on one side vs 0,7 on the opposite one) on the cracked one, leading to tilt the cap. What do you think?
I had to cut the broken follower to get the tap out of it.

Hi all,

Anyone have a trick to fit the OEM grill back into the nose of a '73 GT? I struggled for the last hour to line up the screw holes for the tiny screws, and nothing seems to line up like when I tried to reinstall the sproinged off grille. seems like the screws "just barely" do not fit, so maybe there's a trick as to which screws to put in first, top or bottom etc? Or is it just a known pain?
Thanks!
