On the occasion of the IAA in Frankfurt, the customisation specialist Irmscher for the first time presents the upgraded Astra. To accompany the nationwide sales start on 17th September, Irmscher offers a comprehensive sports programme for the trade. For this volume model from Opel Rüsselsheim, Irmscher has come up with a strikingly sporty design coupled with pure driving dynamics. The Irmscher accessories are characterised by unusually high quality and the seamless integration into the look and design of the new Opel Astra. The lrmscher exterior products harmonise perfectly with the proportions of the new Astra.

Outside - Balanced proportions and exciting design

The broad shoulders on the flanks, and gentle curves between clearly defined lines recall the design language of the Insignia. The balanced proportions of the new Astra imply dynamics at the very first glance. An attribute which Irmscher consistently underlines and develops further with its design ideas. Viewed from a distance, the eye is immediately caught by the harmoniously integrated front spoiler lip, the slim radiator grill panel with silver or carbon-look design rail and the track width of the Irmscher wheels with their Turbo Star design. The side view of the new Astra is skilfully enhanced by Irmscher with a side skirt which picks up the curved line of the side view. The sporting ambitions of the Irmscher Astra are also clearly apparent from the vehicle rear, where the agile and dynamic look are complemented by the striking roof spoiler, together with a diffuser insert and quad stainless steel exhaust silencer.

Inside - Selected materials and outstanding quality

In the interior of the vehicle, the driver and passengers want for nothing. The seats, door panels and central armrests are manufactured by Irmscher and finished in fine cowhide. The leather interior fittings have been carefully matched with the red bodywork. Irmscher provides additional interior refinement in the form of aluminium door-locking pins, sill panelling in stainless steel and aluminium pedals. All Irmscher accessories stand out for their excellent visual and tactile finishing quality and further enhance the already high-quality impression of the new Astra.

Equipment - Outstanding dynamics with high driving safety

For the new Astra, Irmscher has developed a new 18″ wheel in the “Turbo Star” and “Turbo Star Exclusive” design. The new rim comes complete with the 225 cm tyre width. These will be followed shortly by 20″ light metal wheels, also in the Turbo Star design. For the chassis, Irmscher offers a lowering of 30 mm. here the spring characteristics used ensure sportily agile driving pleasure, and in combination with the wide tyres provide greater track stability and even more driving safety. The exhaust silencer with its elliptical twin tailpipe not only emphasises the sporty rear view of the Irmscher Astra, but also creates the appropriate satisfying sound.

The Astra H has a new bodykit with a front bumper, optional LED daytime running lights, aggressive side skirts, and a new rear bumper that boasts a sporty rear diffuser. Other styling components include headlight masks, a sport exhaust system with four tailpipes, H&R lowering springs (which reduce ride height 30mm), and 19-inch Brock B21 alloy wheels.

The RIEGER Corsa D has far greater appeal thanks to its stylish front spoiler lip extensions and attractive side skirts. Out back, there is a modified rear bumper, a new rear diffuser, and a sport exhaust system with dual oval tailpipes. RIEGER also equipped the car with a KW coilover suspension kit and 19-inch Brock 17 RC white-polished alloy wheels.

Both styling kits are constructed from high-quality ABS plastic and are TÜV approved.

The style of the Vectra C OPC is extremely sporty, restyling is extremely difficult with this vehicle. However the JMS distributor Hipo autotechnology gave the Vectra C a complete style.

First the vehicle was lowered with special H&R springs which lower 45mm on the front axel and 5mm at the rear axle (price 198.90 euros) and provides optimal hadling in combination with the original absorbers of the OPC `S.

With special Racing rims from Barracuda Velvet 8,5×19+9,5×19 and special ET the wheel housing was optimally filled in the arches. The tires are 245/35 R19 ate the front and 255/35 R19 at the rear wheels (price for the wheel set starting from 2200 euros depending upon tire mark).

Body work is not necessary with this wheel/ tire combination. With a new remapping, the engine got a new heart, now with 285hp and 485 Nm.

The selection of styling elements for the Corsa D is difficult. Now JMS create a new Racelook front lip spoiler for this car (euro 209). New to the Steinmetz range for the Agila B is the 4-hole alloy wheel ST8 in 17″. The 15 spokes in exciting Bicolor design fill the wheelarches to perfection, and form the perfect combination with 195/40 R17 tyres.

To meet the need for improved handling, Steinmetz lowers the petrol-engined car by 30 mm, matching every driving style harmoniously and comfortably.

In the interior, the new aluminium gear knob for the Agila B by Steinmetz catches the eye. Touch it, and every gear change becomes a special experience. The top half the gear knob is styled in chrome aluminium, and the lower half in black. The range also includes the 4-piece floor mat set with Steinmetz stainless steel logo.

With the 2009 BTCC season almost upon us, Vauxhall has just launched two stunning limited editions based on the Corsa and Astra VXR to celebrate VX Racing’s success in the 2008 British Touring Car Championship.

Known as the Corsa and Astra VX Racing Editions, they will have a combined production run of 888 cars. And that number just happens to coincide with the name of Vauxhall’s race experts, Triple Eight Engineering, who build and prepare all the VX Racing Cars and contributed so much to Vauxhall’s triumph in the BTCC last season when it won the BTCC’s Drivers’, Manufacturers’ and Team championships.

As well as sharing the VX Racing team colours of red and black, all VX Racing Editions gain full leather Recaro seats as standard. The VX Racing theme continues outside the car with logos on the B-posts and tread plates, too.

And just to make sure that you’d never mistake a VX Racing Edition from an ‘ordinary’ Corsa or Astra VXR, tinted rear glass, a black rear diffuser and black side bump strips and door mirror covers are all part of the package. In addition, the Astra version gains Piano Black interior décor strips.

We’re also sure that VX Racing’s drivers, Giovanardi, Neal and Jordan would appreciate the gloss-black alloy wheels – 18″ for Corsa, 19″ for Astra – that come as standard on all VX Racing Editions.

Finally, for that authentic VX Racing soundtrack – as well as up to 20PS extra power – all VX Racing Edition buyers will have the option of purchasing a Remus exhaust system at a discounted price. For Astras, that means £720 (saving £275) and for Corsas, £410 (saving £150). Buyers will also benefit from a healthy discount on other Vauxhall Performance Centre parts and accessories.

Corsa and Astra VX Racing Editions are available to order now through all Vauxhall retailers, costing £17,425.00 and £21,445 respectively.
