Every time I run across the Hansen Nursery/Kids set by Sims2Play “Mmm Bop” by former teen sensation Hansen immediately starts up in my head and no amount of ramming things in my ears will make it go away. Just thought I’d share. Your welcome.

Anyhoo, I needed a solid crib for Tabitha’s room and thought this one would be perfect in pink so I recolored it. Usually I just upload one or two pieces of a set that I have recolored for my own use but this time I decided to do the whole shebang. I did recolor the single bed but forgot to include it in the screenshot. I somehow managed to forget to download the double bed so it’s not included but I kind of doubt anyone would want a double bed in nursery room pink anyway.

I also didn’t recolor the paintings or the boxes that came with it. Just the furniture. Here’s a screenie of the crib in Tabitha’s room:

I’m *gasp* almost finished with the computer choking CC version of The Bewitched House and I have a little preview:

bigger

The goal of this project is to use all custom content, no Maxis (except walls to build with). I know, right? Gracie has lost her ever lovin’ mind. If I use anything Maxis, it will be recolored or, in the case of this fence, cloned and recolored. I know it’s odd but in the course of building this monstrosity having Maxis in there just didn’t work with the CC. Like the Satinistics sofa in the screenshot. Looks weird next to everything else. Probably just me. *shrugs*

The house is basically finished I’m just going over TOUs one more time to make sure I’m not stepping on any toes by including all the CC in the upload. ALL of the CC used are from free sites, too. ALL OF IT. YAY.

The modular stairs were made recolorable by HugeLunatic at Sims2Artists and she helpfully provided a template recolor thus ensuring I didn’t end up with avocado green carpet on the railings. ;)

So, um, maybe by the weekend this fucker will be ready. What am I going to do now?

I had the day off today and decided I would hunker down and finish the damn Bewitched house if it killed me. Finish it I did, the Maxis version anyway. I didn’t even shower first. Or brush my teeth. It’s by no means perfect (the living room is huge! The roof is still wonky! I suck at landscaping!) but without further TMI (sorry about that, I have since showered and brushed my teeth, promise) here it is, dadatada – the Bewitched House – 1164 Morning Glory Circle:

{bigger}

Nightime view:
{bigger}

A few things:
1. The roof lines are a little wonky but after nearly two years (!) of trying to get the upstairs done this is the best I could do with it. I lowered the top longest piece a little by using the barn roof method so it wouldn’t be so frickin’ tall. That white line across the front is because I have default white trim. If you don’t have default white trim, it will probably blend a little better. I have gone through every roof tutorial I can find and never found a way to make that roof work perfectly. For me. I’m sure there is one, I just lack the skillz.

2. There are 5 pieces of CC that show up when you open the Sims2Pack with Sims2CleanInstaller:

 A. tbudgett’s extendable arch here: and here:

 B. a recolor of the Maxis just-a-door by me [link]

 C. The garage roof is an illusion in the goofiest sense. It’s a stage drug out over the top of the garage and a wallpaper, made by me, from an image of the actual garage top which looks like a small fence. I tried different combinations of fences, half walls and paneling and nothing worked so I faked it because in case I haven’t said it before, I don’t mesh.

 D. and this: {bigger}
Let’s call it a mural okay? Even though it’s only one tile and just a little bit insane. Look, I wouldn’t know how to begin to make a stove at all, much less a stove like that. I searched everywhere for literally YEARS trying to find one already made that would work and just wasn’t satisfied with any. Since there is already a stove to the right that WORKS (it’s supposed to be a hob and in the CC version of the house it will be) I thought why not just make a wallpaper mural of the stove I need? It’ll work for screenshots and such. If it just won’t work for you, delete the wall and put whatever you want there.

E. Recolor of the Open For Business Bay Window by Ailias at MTS here

Now, for comparison’s sake some screenies of the real thing. Some I screenshotted myself from episodes on YouTube and the rest are ganked from various Google Image searches.

Custom Content loaded mutha to come soon. Enjoy!

Oh, almost forgot: The house is ~111,000+ Simoleans and is built on a 4 x 3 flat lot. Also, I’m sure you can tell from the screenshots but it’s not really furnished furnished; I just threw some things in each room to makes sure the walls were spaced right and to define a little bit what each room is supposed to be. It also has two bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

When I think of Norman Rockwell I think of typical Americana: cherry pie, Grandma’s Thanksgiving dinner, a young couple eloping, you get the idea. I ran across this 1969 album cover on Vanity Fair’s website of all places. The story about how Norman Rockwell came to illustrate the cover of “a couple of bona-fide 60s longhairs’” album is here. My favorite quote from the piece:

Kooper says that the final painting arrived several weeks later with a note from the artist that read “Here is The Blues Singers. These boys were the most interesting-looking people I’ve ever painted. Thank you. Norman.”

The painting is on “The Stroke” Maxis mesh.

Next up is some more bedding, this time a Tammis Keefe print of owls, which I’m kind of over? But they (owls) seem to be popular right now Sims CC-wise.

Last but not least, I’m so excited to find this one because it is PERFECT. Jonesi over at Black Pearl Sims made a bedroom set and this chair was in it. I’ve been looking for this chair for a long time and had pretty much given up finding it until I started seeing this one in various member albums over at BPS (and elsewhere). I asked in the WCIF forum at BPS and wouldn’t you know, it came from there? I swear I looked. It comes in white/aqua and black. I needed it in a medium wood tone for the Bewitched living room so I used one of amythestfenix’ Maxis wood textures:

Thanks to Jonesi, amythestfenix, Tammis Keefe and Norman Rockwell for use of meshes/textures/inspiration.
