The Silencing is a heart throbbing suspense drama.

It touches on child abuse, mental health issues and children abduction, specifically young girls.

This movie kept my attention throughout the duration and had me yelling at the screen. I even jumped a few times at some of the scenes.

WOW! Is my initial thought.

This movie ——- how dare an African American ask for justice.

Driving while black is real and many black men lose their lives just because they are DWB in the wrong neighborhood.

This movie really explores the systemic racial biases that plaque African American and more specifically, African American men. It does a great job of revealing the generational racism that is embedded in many of our police officers and how they really feel.

This is a must see for EVERYONE.

Prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions.

For all of the friendships that have gone through the ups and downs.... who says friendships are not like romantic relationships.

This movie shows how the bonds of friendships can be tested but the cords cannot be broken.

I love how even somewhat estranged, the friends come together to support one another and get through the most difficult times in their life.

I’m not even sure where to begin with this movie.

This movie me had me feeling a bit perplexed. The witchcraft in this movie was way too much for the kid.

However, I do believe it was a great story of love and how love conquer all and what one will do to save those that they love.

Well..... I may be a little bias because I love me some Regina King. Since 227, 7 Seconds, Watchmen and so many more. She is Black Girl Magic.

One Night in Miami was a great coming together of 4 iconic African American men, who share poignant and insightful perspectives. The dialogue among the men was real, relatable and prevalent.

This movie will leave you wanting more but yet considering everything that was said.

Review: Fatale

Initially, this movie felt like something I had seen before. But, quickly the turned into OMG!

Hilary Swank does not disappoint and plays her role to perfection. It’s like a Hilary I’ve never seen before.

Michael Ealy was the eye candy that we expect him to be; however, his character was all too familiar and redundant. It reminder me of his role in The Intruder & The Perfect Guy.

Still a good movie worth watching.

Review: Bridgerton

Where do I begin with this series. I am not huge fan of period pieces but I must admit that this one grabbed my attention from beginning to end

The intertwining of 18th century and 21st century touches was creatively done. I loved how they added modern flare to this series. Hearing Ariana Grandes song, Next being played by an orchestra was awesome and very nice touch.

If you can start this series, please plan on completing it in one sitting because you won’t be able to break away. Grab the popcorn and your beverage of choice.

Review: Run

This movie is definitely the epitome of a case of Münchausen syndrome by proxy but the movie doesn’t even go into that part.

This is purely a thriller that keeps you looking everywhere as to what is next.

Sarah Paulson does a good job of playing the loving, doting mother. There are quite a few plot twists and turns. Hold on to your seat and enjoy the ride.

I love Felicia Rashad. It doesn’t matter what role she is playing, what genre. She plays each role flawlessly.

Having said that...... grief is perplexed emotion and causes one to act irrationally.

Technology can be your friend or your worse enemy and in this case...... it has a double-edged sword.

This movie is suspenseful and intriguing. It will keep trying to figure out exactly what is going on.

This movie right here had me on edge. It also had me thinking, “Is this child crazy”?

I mean the title says it all.....

But I guess what was more disturbing than the child, was the parents reaction and actions afterwards.

I guess it’s true when they say that parents will do anything to protect their children.

I’m not quite sure why I watched this move in its’ entirety.

This movie was by far one of the most poorly written movies I have seen in a long time.

Review: Beautiful Boy

This is an excellent love story of father’s love for his son. While there is so much love displayed in this movie, it is also heartbreaking and I finished the movie with tears in my eyes and a hole in my heart.

This is a must see for all.

I’m not sure how I feel about this movie. I kinda felt like I had been before, it was modern day spin of Bonnie & Clyde and in the end it left me sad and disappointed.

Sad... well they could’ve let them live to make it different then most movies of this sort. Disappointed because I wanted more but not of the same.

Review: Brittany Runs a Marathon

If you are looking for a good home RomCom/Self Motivational type movie, then Brittany runs a marathon is it.

I found this movie to be a little corny, yet inspirational and shared a great message all at the same.

One of the things that I loved about this movie is that there were a couple of messages conveyed through the movie"

You are in control of your life; if you want change then make a change
You can accomplish anything that you put your mind to it
Bullying of any kind is only a reflection of how one feels about themselves, AND is never OK

We see our main character go through many transitions in this movie and they are all bring her to her best self and love, love of herself and love of others (or the acceptance thereof).

Good Feel Good Movie.

Well what can I say... it is always nice to see Chadwick Boseman on the big screen! As usual, he did not disappoint but the ending did!

It was a nice surprise to see Stephan James in this film. You may know him from the Amazon original series, "Homecoming", The film, "If Beale Street could talk" and the mini-series, "Shots Fired".

I found this movie to be interesting and actually learned that Manhattan had 21 bridges that provided access in and out of the city. What was a very entertaining movie ended with such a predictable script. It turned out to be Good cop vs Bad Cop.

I think it’s definitely worth watching but just don't expect too much of the ending.

Review: Harriet

I enjoyed this movie better than I anctipated. I left the theatre feeling proud and also a little bit more knowledgable about slavery, the Underground Railroad and the fearless Harriet Tubman.

Cynthia Erivo did an outstanding job as Harriet - her transition from slave to abolitionist was so natural and organic. But was an even bigger surprise and bonus was her singing "Stand Up". Who knew.

Marie played by Janelle Monae had me in tears. Even though she was born "free", her committment to helping slaves become free and independent to the point of death touched my very being.

I was left to wonder whether Gideon and Harriet ever had any type of physical relationship. Gideon seemed enamored with her to the point of obsession - more than just as a slave owner. This was never mentioned or addressed in the movie but the innuendo was defintely there.

Vanessa Bell Calloway did not disappoint, she played her normal, somewhat overly dramatic, yet melancholy role......
