Return of the Twins

2012-03-28T22:13:00.000-04:00

My very first clients returned for their second session. It had been almost a year since last time! The twins were just standing to walk at their first session, but this time I struggled to keep up with them running all over.

Isn't he so handsome?

They truly are best friends. They seem to always have each other's back!

My little photog counterpart ♥

They'll be welcoming a baby brother within weeks who I cannot wait to photograph.

I really enjoyed getting to know this beautiful family on Sunday! I think their personalities really shine in the portraits, especially the kids'.

My favorite shot of the day!

A Family Day

2011-11-02T10:22:00.000-04:00

Robert and I took Lily to the park yesterday, but not to the playground because we just wanted to be alone. Our days are best spent together, just us three.

Autumn, I welcome you with an open lens!

2011-10-25T22:28:00.000-04:00

We're having a great October, lots to do!

Still neglecting the blog while school is in session, but I promise to return with diligence as soon as I get a break.

Lily decided there weren't enough leaves on the ground, so she jumped at the leaves in this tree to help them along. :o)

One last day at the lake officially wrapped up our summer. Warm October weather allowed us to enjoy the park...

...but below, you can see autumn has conquered summer. :o)

Ball Family

2011-06-17T11:33:00.000-04:00

My love for photography has fully bloomed into a passion. When people started to praise my work, I thought "maybe I really CAN be a photographer!" But it wasn't until my first real photo session that I realized this is the path I'm supposed to be taking in life. I've known Mindy for several years, but when I met her twins yesterday my heart filled with joy. I quickly realized I had taken on a challenging first-time-photo-shoot . . . crawling twins! They were so much fun I didn't want to leave.

Tripp was a little flirt from the second I met him, just look at this smile!

Piper was more adventurous, crawling away from her brother most of the time

They each had a flower. . .for a few minutes

Mommy got to pose for a few shots, she's usually behind the camera!

Tripp was attached to his Daddy most of the time

On the rare occasion that the twins were together, they were so sweet to each other

I'm so grateful to have had this family as my first clients.

Catching up!

First, let me apologize for neglecting this blog. It's just that not many people visit it. But that's going to change, regardless of its unpopularity! :) I've been very busy with school since the last post (and still am) but I'm re-motivated to keep this blog up and running.

Here's what's been going on since February.

Spring came...

...and turned into summer.

More to come as summer progresses! Thank you for stopping by.

A Change In Scenery

2011-02-24T19:22:00.000-05:00

Lily and I took a visit to see my mom. It was a great trip and an even better visit! Here are my shots for the day.

Childhood gifts from my cousin Kimberly made excellent subjects ☺

This saucer is the size of a nickel.

Her original letter is still in good shape!

I had to stop by the lake to get these shots.

Thanks for stopping by, follow my blog if you like what you see ☺

Focus on fishing

2011-02-19T18:24:00.000-05:00

Lily got her first fishing pole today. Of course it's pink and has Dora on it, but it's not really intended for catching real fish anyway. ☺

While she fished with Daddy, I took a little climb up the rocks.

Before the sun started to set, these beautiful clouds caught my eye.

Here's what I came up with while I was at the top of the rocks

My final shot was one of my favorites of the day of course:

~Have a great weekend!!~

70° at last!

2011-02-17T23:01:00.000-05:00

As the sun shone on Lily's face in the car, she sang "Oh Mister Sun, Sun, Mister Golden Sun...please shine down on me!"

We tried a new park today and it was fantastic! Lily had her first sandbox experience...All I have to say is *BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!*

She said (loudly enough for everyone within 50 feet to hear) "I'm building a house Mommy! It's beauteeful!"

This statue really caught my eye, but the teddy bear made it even cuter! Kids are awesome.

At "our" playground, Lily only uses the little slide..it's about 3 feet high. Today, she conquered a new slide about 8 feet tall!! It was exciting to watch her climb the stairs and feel so accomplished ☺

Meanwhile, Daddy had made his way down to the lake. She finally decided to follow him.

I asked what she was digging for, and she said (as if I should have already known) "I'm digging for clam shells!"

What an adventurous girl she is, climbing all over rocks. Made us nervous, made her happy.

Then came a Schnauzer to get a drink, then off for a walk!

Somehow she ended up with grass in her hair ☺

We really enjoyed this park, so be looking for more pics soon!

My abstract for the day: Night & Day

An Evening Out

2011-02-16T23:44:00.000-05:00

Today was such a beautiful day, it really felt like spring! So on our way to the park, Lily said she wanted to stop at Grandma's house instead.

...and she had a new puppy! "Chiquita"

Boston Terriers are my absolute ♥favorite♥ breed of dogs.

There were beautiful subjects all around the house.

Tonight, the moon was just astonishingly bright! It was almost full, and there were a few light clouds breezing by. For me, the moon is one of the most difficult subjects to shoot, but here's what I got.

We'll see what photos tomorrow produces :)

Windy Weekend

2011-02-13T20:05:00.000-05:00

Today was full of small battles with Lily, but seeing her so happy at the park made it worth the trouble!

We found an abandoned baseball, and Lily said she wanted to give it to a dog. So she tried giving it to a Pomeranian...poor thing couldn't pick it up with her tiny mouth. So we found an obliging dog owner who said his dog LOVED balls. He wasn't kidding.

Lily was a little reluctant to actually give the ball away, but once she saw how much doggy drool was on it she said "bye doggy!"

The fluffy cat tails from this day had shed most of their fluff. What a nice day :)

Symbols of Spring

2011-02-07T10:51:00.000-05:00

This past weekend certainly felt like winter, but once again the sun made a welcomed presentation!

The color of the Saturday sky would bring anyone out of any kind of funk. ;)

We enjoyed every minute of the sunshine, from dawn until dusk. The moon even came out to play Saturday evening!

Sunday afternoon, I spotted two doves outside my front window. But only one of them felt like posing for this shot.

A flash of spring in January

2011-02-02T00:23:00.000-05:00

After weeks of ruthless cold weather and snow, sunshine finally prevailed last weekend! We decided to take our daughter Lily to the park to play a little soccer and to explore the playground. Of course, the park was extremely overcrowded by people who had the same bright idea as we did. But it was still a fun time and a perfect photo shoot.
