M2m Authentication Error

I did a new install of openx 2.8.1 and get this error message
at log-in:

M2M authentication error - password invalid (code: 823)

I read in this forum that it was corrected in 2.6

How do I fix in 2.8.1?

Blank Banners, Expired Campaigns Displaying

I am currently using OpenX v2.8.1 running on Apache 2.0.54, PHP 5.2.6 and MySQL 4.1.25-Debian_mt1-log.

I upgraded from an older version (2.5) and had to manually install the plugins. Everything appeared to be working properly until today.

I went and fixed several campaigns that were deactivated because they had not been properly configured by my client. Now those campaigns are displaying blank banners on the publishers' sites, despite showing properly in Open X.

Also, I deactivated a campaign well over an hour ago and replaced it with a new one. Though my cache refreshes every 10 minutes (it's set to 600 seconds), the old campaign is still showing (with a blank banner) and the new one is not.

Optimal Configuration For Openx Performance

Hi,

I am new to OpenX. We have a site with more than 2,000 pages of content. The site is divided into 12 sections, each section is divided into 3 to 40 categories. Each category is also divided into 1 - 20 subcategory.

The ad inventory available is proximately 20 - 30 html ads per page.

I am intending to host OpenX in our servers. Our servers are over the standard hosting requirements for OpenX.

What would be the best way to implement the OpenX installation? Or, should I just get keywords or channels using the sections, categories, and subcategories names as keywords or channel names? What type of tags should I use so that the load is low on the server? Should I work with single page calls?

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!

Impressions Delivered One Time More

Since July 1st, we are facing a serious issue with banner delivery - the impressions on all campaigns (since July 1st) have been delivered twice as much as being set (i.e. if for a three-day campaign we set 47000 impressions for a banner daily, 75000 will be delivered for that day). All the campaigns are with same priority (high) and no zone conflicts are present.

Any ideas what has gone wrong?

Openx 2.8.1 Installation And Htaccess

Hello friends and admin

Yesterday i have downloaded latest version of openx 2.8.1 and installed in sub folder Here
Everything works well. In route of the domain www.wallpaperstock.in i had already had wordpress installation.

But when i login openx, instead of redirected openx admin page, its redirected to http://www.wallpaperstock.in/openx/www/adm...market-info.php and shows wordpress 404 Error page.

I realize that its due to .htaccess file. But i don't know how to resolve this issue? If i want to add any htaccess file in installation folder http://www.wallpaperstock.in/openx/ or have to edit default htaccess file located in route folder?

Here is my default htaccess code which available in wordpress installation.

Update Banner Image = Temporarily No Banner

Not sure if this is a bug or if its something setting related that needs changing.

I have a zone that serves 1 banner. I have just updated the image (file) for the banner and now it's serving no banner. I think once maintenance comes through it will serve it.

Is there something I have done wrong here? Surely it should serve the old banner or new banner rather than serving nothing.

Using Geo-targeting Module For Targeting By Zip Code

Hi,

I'm generating online leads for local advertisers, and would like to use OpenX to select advertisers/campaigns based on geo-targeting. I capture the zip-code info of the leads and would like to customize Openx geo-targeting module, so that it uses the ZIP-code and filters all the ad campaigns targeting that County" in the US. I have the ZIP<->(city, county, DMA) mapping.

Question - how do i customize the geo-targeting module so it looks up the ZIP<->County info and returns campaigns targeting the County or even DMA - any pointers to specific sections of code and DB tables would be helpful.
If it's easier to write a new geo-targeting module, how do i plug it into Openx?

Using Conversion Tracking For Cpl/cpa Pre-billing

Hi,

I capture leads on my site and sell to advertisers based on CPL and pre-bill them (on their credit cards) for x number of leads. Would like to use OpenX for tracking and reporting of leads to advertisers. I cap the delivery of leads based on the advertiser's budget - e.g. limit the campaign to 5 conversions per day, and also set the contract based on what the advertiser has pre-paid - e.g. limit to 100 conversions if the advertiser has paid $5

Question -
1) Once the contract is consumed (max conversions is reached) for a campaign, is there a trigger that will notify my billing software to go re-bill the advertiser? If not, i guess my billing software needs to query the conversions table daily - what DB tables would it query?

2) Once the billing software auto-rebills, can i refresh the contract limit (say from 100 to 200) through an API? Not sure this is available in 2.8 APIs

3) Is there any auto-rebilling module available that is integrated into the conversions and campaign contracts? I've checked Revmax3.0 but it doesn't do auto-rebilling and doesn't check and refresh contract limits based on rebilling

Openx Market On Download Version

I'm currently running the downloaded version of 2.6.

I've been trying to upgrade to 2.8 to take advantage of openx market, however I just can't seem to get it upgraded.

I'm running openx on 3 load balanced web servers and 1 db server serving up 30-40 million impressions a month.

No matter how I try to upgrade to 2.8, I keep ending up where the plugin's wont work on the 2nd and 3rd servers.

I can get it working on the 1st server I upgrade, but I can't get the plugins to function on the 2nd and 3rd server I upgrade...so..no openx market on those servers.

I've never been able to find instructions for upgrading an installation that is deployed across multiple web servers, but I've always been able to figure out how to get it working in the past.

Now, with 2.8 and the plugins, I just can't get the upgrade to work on anything but the 1st web server.

How about a white paper, or some type of upgrade guide on the correct procedure to upgrade multiple servers?

I'd love to take advantage of the market (and i'm sure open X would like their 15% cut of the market impressions as well...HAHA) but I'm pretty much at my wits end trying to figure this one out.

Any help is appreciated.

Creating A Wide Skyscraper As Googleads Using Openx

Hi,

I am new to openX. I want to create a Wide Skyscraper (160x600) so that it displays 5 text ads on it as it is done in Google Ads. How do I do this in OpenX? Do I create 5 zones of 160 pixels X 32pixels each and put the code one below the other and then create text ads to show up on each zone? Or, do I create 1 zone of 160 X 600 and then how do I make the text ads appear on it?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Forum przejrzałem, podobne tematy widzę, ale nie widzę rozwiązania - zlicza po 20 odsłon dziennie dla banera i po jednym kliknięciu. Przestało zliczać przy ok. 7mln odsłon globalnie, statystyki wyzerowałem ale nic to nie dało.

What is the data_summary_channel_daily table being used for? Is it for channel forecasting? I had created a couple of test channels. But nothing gets stored in this table.

turned on, no big deal...

I've read 'show maintenance.log' but there is no maintenance.log
in my-openx/var! Yes, there is debug.log file with maintenance
info inside, but no maintenance.log...

Should I create it manually?

Setting Media Cost & Tag Defaults And Hiding Them?

I have a few questions for anybody with openx knowledge.

When I set up a publisher and give them permissions to create and delete zones and generate Invocation Code. But they do not have permission to link thier own banners to newly created zones.

Question #1 When the publisher creates a zone and clicks Save they get this message saying "There are no active banners linked to this zone."

How do I change that to say something like "Your New Zone has been created please copy and place the Invocation Code on your website so that banners can be shown."

Question #2 How can I set a default value for Media Cost for all zones created to CPM .50 .... Secondly I would like to hide it so that it's not a visible option for publishers.

Question #3 I would also like to set default values for Tag Settings at the bottom of the publisher Zone Invocation Code page and then hide them as well as the refresh button.

Limiting Zone Sizes To Be Selected.

I have edited my res-iab.inc.php file to limit the zone sizes a publisher can select when creating and zone. The problem is that i added another custom sized 100X100 banner to the res-iab.inc.php =array> file. it's the last line in the example code below.
The thing is when Im on the Add Zone (zone-edit.php) page I can not see the (100X100) button text. The Button is actually there but I can not see the text, It's just a blank space.

I can select the blank space and click save, I creates the new zone with the 100X100 dimensions and everything works fine. I just need to know what i need to do to get the text ['IAB_Button(100x100)'] to show up in the zone dropdown menu.

Continuous Escaping Of Entities In Banner Alt Text

If I have an apostrophe in the alt text for a banner, after saving, the input fields shows the HTML numeric entity ' - not the apostrophe and if I save again without changing ' back to an apostrophe the next time it is double encoded - ' - etc.

Hi i get the folowing Error i have read all the posts on Memory increasing but cant help me
for ecample i dont have a file called php.ini i use version 2.8.1

The PHP "memory_limit" value is set to less than the required minimum of 128MB, but because the built in PHP function "ini_set" has been disabled, the memory limit cannot be automatically increased.

Backup Image For Flash W/o Javascript

I'm using the Single Page Call method and it's working. The NoScript tag also seems to work, but...

If Javascript is turned off in the browser, should OpenX deliver the Backup Image set for a Flash banner? Seems like it should, but I'm getting a broken image link.

I did disable Flash for the browser and the Backup Image was properly displayed.

Also does OpenX allow all image formats for the Backup Image (PNG, JPG, & GIF)?

I am from Kurdistan of Iraq and now there are many websites in Kurdistan by Kurdish language that they are out of reklaming service because our country is not independent also the language is not independent , such as (Google Ad sense), when I fill the form it illustrates that Kurdish language is not supported. So as a Kurd I want to struggle from your OpenX script so that I can solve some of the problems and advertise some of the international reklams . Because of that purpose I want to be expert about your script so I have some question which they can help me.

1)Can I advertise for a specific company after advertise it to a lot of Kurdish websites?

2)Can I advertise reklams for the international websites from your script like (Google Ad sense)?

3)If I can use Kurdish language for the script and changing the script language to Kurdish language so can you support Kurdish language or have you ever thought of supporting it?
Because of the state of Iraq and Kurdistan the Kurdish websites are out of a lot of services so we need your help.

New Installation With No Errors And No Statistic

sorry for my bad english. This is my last try to run openx yet.

I have previously worked with phpAdsNew (ran great) but openx was complete new install (not update!).

I have all the potential sources of error here in the forum already mentioned were checked. Among other things, all pinned posts in this forum read through several times.

In the error log does not appear. Maintenance runs through, Still no statistics.

BKT table and remain empty. No chance. I do not know anymore. And there really a lot of this problems here in this forum, I think almost to a bug in the script.

Is there anyone out there running the version 2.8.1 with statistic? And if so, could these post his server version as well as important php settings?

Openx Stops Working After Restarting Apache.

I installed and set up OpenX, and it worked perfectly untill my host had a power outage this saturday.
When the server came back up I noticed that the ads did not display.
I tried doing a direct request for /www/delivery/ajs.php, and the following notice was displayed:

OpenX has not been installed yet -- please read the INSTALL.txt file.

I tried googling for a solution, but couldn't find any -- so I ended up doing a complete reinstall of OpenX.
I reinstalled and everything worked fine. But when I restared apache (due to a different issue) it suddenly stopped working again and I was presented with the same error message.

So I did a complete wipe:
Removed the openx-folder, the database, the database user.
Reinstalled openx in a different folder, in a different database with a different database user.
Everything worked fine. Restarted apache. Same error.

I must point out that I've made no exotic configuration choices. Every install described has been completely vanilla.

This is really getting quite frustrating. Could any of you cast some light on this situation?

Error In Ie7 Using Openx

dear team,

i ve been facing problems using openx and IE7. As you can see on the image attached, the system displays an error when it loads the page. this is not all the time, sometimes it happens and sometimes it dont. Probably 1 of 2 tries display that error. I dont know if I place in a wrong way the script, but I believe that I followed all the steps.

Invocation Code Branding And A Few Other Tweaks Needed

I own a Mixed Martial Arts ad network and we are moving our publishers over to our new servers and we are using the newest version of openX to serve ads. We have set everything up and the ads seem to run fine on the server we are using. We are looking to find out how we private label the invocation codes. They currently are branded openX but we would like to take that out.

So here is our issues and if any of you fine people can help please let me know.

1. I want to edit the comments in the invocation code the publishers get when they login.

2. I want to set defaults for the majority of their tag settings like "Don't show the banner again on the same page" and "Display text below the banner" and I want to hide the form inputs. Basically I want them to be able to choose target frame and include comments and that is it.

3. I'd like to remove the link to the single call method page for publishers so they only have one method to embed and cut down on confusion for them.

If anyone can help we would greatly appreciate it. We can barter web graphics work, advertising or memorbillia from UFC fighters.

Openx Market Statistics - Totals And Reporting

Just some suggestions on OpenX Market Stats.

Currently it appears that a remnant campaign that gets beat by a market ad will not log an impression. This is perfect actually, The issues I have are:

1. The Total Impressions for a day are off - To get the number we have to add the Market Stats and Advertiser stats together - It would be nice if the total impressions would somehow include the market as another advertiser or campaign

2. No way to tell what percentage of a particular remnant campaign was delivered to the Market. We can see it by Zone, but no way to tell "What Percentage of Remnant Campaign X went to the Market". This is important because we may have different floor prices for different remnant campaigns depending on the provider.....

Just some thoughts for you all -

Passing Unique Source Parameters W/single Page Call

I had a question. With the single page call, is it possible to pass different source variables per zone rather than the entire page? For example, Let’s say I have two leaderboards, one on the top and one on the bottom. How could I differentiate those without creating two zones? Or is it not such a big deal to create the zones.

Basically, we want to have the option to limit delivery to the top and/or bottom leaderboards on a page, but rotate ads evenly between them by default.

What Causes '500 Internal Server Error'?

I've been using OpenX for years, and never had too much trouble installing it, but this time it just ain't working for me!

I've just been getting blank screens for days, but I found a missing file. I think I finally got everything chmod'd properly, so at least now I see an error page.

What causes a '500 Internal server error'. I'm not getting an error log that I can see. My new host has a new file manager that's totally confusing to me

"The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log."

I want to limit a banner to be displayed only on non Linux.

I used Client - User Agent [Not Contains] Linux
But nothing... The banner is being displayed also on Linux.

Is there a way to bypass that?

Ads Sequency Non-random

There is a problem with randomness of ads sequence in openx 2.8.1:
There are several campaigns C1, C2, C3, C4 with equal priorities.
openx 2.8.1 often shows ads in a non-random way, typically
C1 C1 C2 C2 C3 C3 C3 C2 C4 C4 C4,
i.e. a chance of a campaign X to follow the campaign X is higher,
which leads to high probability of a repetition of the same campaign.

Menu System Error

Upgraded to 2.8.0 after logging in, I get:

Menu system error: Manager:: not found for the current user

try switching over to the admin account and I get:

Menu system error: Admin:: not found for the current user

So I'm completely unable to do anything with OpenX after the upgrade.

Where Are Targeting Channel Statistics?

We have one publisher with about 300 websites in their network. This time instead of making each site its own tag we made tags for the network and setup targeting channels. The channels seem to be working (ads are being delivered) but we cannot see / find any stats on a per channel basis so that we can traffic the ads. Any idea how or where to view the statistics on a per channel basis?

We have three admin users. When I login, my account is automatically set as "Working as Administrator"
I have to switch it to Default Manager everytime, so logging in is essentially a two step process.

i have dig through most of the feat in openx, is it possible to deliver an Ad banner based on time?
Eg. 12pm-3pm will deliver lunch ad?

I just read this topic because I am having this exact problem.

If you go to Settings->Main Settings->Statistics & Maintenance Settings, you will see a box with the description:
Don't log statistics from clients with any of the following strings in their user-agent (one-per-line)

I am using 2.8 (not hosted) and i cant find "settings", "main settings", OR "statistics & maintenance settings" anywhere!?

Did this change from a previous version?

I've got very strange problem. My Google AdSence stats shows very low amount of clicks compared to openX stats.

For example:
OpenX - 56,104 impressions and 604 clicks
Google - 38,128 impressions and 30 clicks !!!

Anyone can tell me what stats correct!!!!!

Change Banners Based On Date/season?

I'm wondering if the following is possible;

If I create a campaign that has a specific start and stop date, say 7/1/2009 - 7/5/2009 with a priority level of "Exclusive", am I able to place both this campaign and a "Non-Exclusive" campaign within the same area on a page?

i.e. if I wanted a special holiday banner to be placed where a normal day to day banner is located (for a specified time-frame), can I do so?

If not, any ideas on how to accomplish this?

2.8.1 Install With No Html/text Banner Options

I did a fresh install of openx 2.8.1 I was in Admin mode and allowed html and text banners. I created an advertiser account, a new campaign. I went to inventory to add new banner and was only given the options of: sql, file, web but text and html was not a form select item. What is wrong?

I just upgraded to 2.8 from 2.6. The upgrade appeared to go as expected, but when I log in now I cannot change from the Default Manager.

Maxmind Postal Code Db Issue

We have just purchased the MaxMind GeoIP City database to use banner delivery based on zip codes (US). No matter which line I put the database in, the option for postal code does not show up under banner limitations. Where does this database need to be? How can I enable that option?
I noticed I can choose to show all options whether available or not and postal code shows up in there, but shouldnt it show up when I put the maxmind city db as its contained therein ?

How Long Should Raw Table Info Be Stored?

Using OpenX v2.6.4 running on Apache, PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.51a-community-log.

Do we need to keep the data in data_raw_* tables for extended periods? Can the data be actually deleted after a successful maintenance cycle(s)?

IMO the compactStatsGrace directive can be used to reduce the period data storage in the raw tables? But what other tables are effected by this value?

I installed open x on hosting server and when i was traying start application i saw this error:

"OA_XML_RPC_Client: RPC server did not send response before timeout"

admins checked that problem is on restrictions in serwer output - when it try connect to this addresses:

80.86.85.118, 174.129.193.46.

when admins unblock this addresses - everthing moved.

I wonder Where open x try to connect ? For what ?

What it need ?

( I can't ovearheat - read it because everything is send encrypt whith ssl )

Special Banner Delivery Requirement

Morning all

I have been given a banner delivery requirement and I am not sure how to do it.

The requirement is that every 5th banner displayed must be a specific banner. OpenX is used as a digital advertising solution on LCD TV's in a retail environment. It is used in conjunction with a touch enabled application, so the banner that must be displayed every 5th time, is a message to the customers indicating that it is a touch screen and that they must touch the screen to rate the retailers service.

Openx Developer Needed For Small Setup Project

This project has several tasks and should take an experienced OpenX developer 1-2 days.

1. Install and properly configure OpenX on our Linux server (we may rent a out of the box system so this might not be requred).

2. Using the OpenX IFrame calls, create a banner rotator that will properly rotate bannrs on a page every (n) seconds. This should rotate smoothly through banners.It is required that the final output will be set up to work with multiple ad networks including google adsense, Yahoo, Microsoft, Doubleclick, Valueclick, etc.

3. Establish a way to rotate the banner through Ajax or other means which disables the browser "click" sound that usually plays on a page refresh.

4. Configure it to work with geotargettng with major ad networks so w can maximize ad revs. Walk our people through how this works.

Settings For Inactive Campaigns

Just upgraded to 2.8.1 and am wondering if there is a setting somewhere to default to display all inactive campaigns. As delivered, when you visit an advertiser's campaign page, it only shows active campaigns. I'd like to set that to display ALL campaigns by default.

We are using openx 2.8.1, upgraded from 2.6.4, but no data_bkt_% tables, no stats, no errors. I tried to find out a solution on the forums but nothing helps. I tried to run /scripts/maintenance/tools/statisticsTestAndCorrect.php but:

Hacking Attempts

Just thought I'd post this for info. Ive recently noticed a lot of hacking attempts on our openx server. Ive blocked these IPs at the firewall. You might want to block this ip if you see a request from this IP.
This guy in japan seems to hit us 10 times every 5 minutes continuously. If any of you have more IPs that you notice are targetting openx exclusively, please add them to the thread so everyone can block them.

Dealing With Bad Html Banners

One of our users copy pasted some HTML into an HTML banner, but unfortunately, he didn't copy the whole thing and ended up saving the banner with an open href tag, i.e.

currently broken in 2.8.
