The Chicken Condo made it into the 2012 Tour de Coops sponsored by Wasatch Community Gardens. There were about 80 visitors that day. Great opportunity to teach the kids about the free market...of course one of the kids embezzled all the revenue and bought fireworks. Phil... just chillin' under the coop. :-)

When a strainer broke in the kitchen, I couldn't resist the temptation to incorporate it into the condo.

Originally used for storage, we wanted to give the chickens another option for nesting. This time, I borrowed a Sawzall from the neighbor. And I added a screen window.

A major theme of this project has been recycling. The chickens like to sleep in there as well.

I didn't always have access to a Sawzall so I had to made due with a still and hand saw. At first, they didn't quite get it. Then I added the ramp. A little coaxing with some strategically placed birdseed helped. I think they like it.

Rescued from the neighborhood clean-up, this traditional chicken coop was incorporated into the run to provide the chickens an alternative nest... ...they don't like it as much as the condo. :-) I have to say, I am proud of the way it exists both inside and outside of the run. Found some knobs in the garage that were unusually apropos for the project. Stigmata!Okay, it's
