I know... I have written about this a year ago... It was also Valentine's day that I was just ENCHANTED by these two musicians.

Taylor wrote this beautiful song called ENCHANTED. Here is the video.

Taylor talked about ENCHANTED as this guy she met in New York. And I don't know about you but people started putting the puzzles together...

We don't know for sure if it was Adam Young she meant by those words but when Adam Young (Owl City) accidentally deciphered the code when he listened to the song that seemed familiar to him... it hit him like a freight train... "My jaw hit the floor"... Adam said it in his blogpost.

Taylor Swift's album in which she really spelled A-D-A-M in the lyrics of ENCHANTED where all the words are in small caps and A, D, A, M were the only ones left out to be CAPITALIZED.

The UNEXPECTED happened... Adam thought it would be fitting to post this last Valentine's Day (2011 then) in reply to Taylor Swift's ENCHANTED.

In an interview of Adam Young... He and Taylor were emailing each other and WONDERSTRUCK and ENCHANTED words were said... so there really is a great chance that Taylor's Song Enchanted is about our beloved singer Adam Young.

Sorry... I posted this in my other blog a year ago.. and I can't quite get over this yet... I couldn't think of one sweetest thing than this. Adam is such a darling and Taylor is a sweetheart. Their love story may not be written yet but it will be... ^__^

Operation FARSCAPE

It's been days now since John and Aeryn didn't occupy my nights. I have been saving episodes of Farscape just so I could delay that impending end of Season 4 and ultimately Peacekeeper Wars then the end of the line. You know that tv series you love so much would be nothing more that a memory of how they made you feel...

Not just love between two people but John's journey into the galaxy. I cannot believe that after Smallville, Firefly, Lost... I would be so in-love again with the characters.

I am a sci-fi addict but I am digging it. I was once a non-believer on how that sort of genre would set you apart from all the reality tv shows and tv drama episodes.

So... what to watch after that? How can I top it all with blast of yellow balls of light? How can I pick up the pieces and start anew when my heart has already been set to these two lovebirds whose love story is as epic as their journey from uncharted territories to tormented space?

So what was in Farscape that was so special you can't quiet stop from watching episodes after episodes of it?

Simple. John's HOPE. I'm sorry guys but that is all that I have been pinning why John was soooo special. That love he has for Aeryn is one of the highlights of the show. But with all the adversities he encountered... never did his HOPE for something to work out ever wane...

In the beginning of the show... John Crichton is an astronaut who spearheaded a test flight to prove one of his own theories but before he could do that... he was sucked into a wormhole.

After being thrown by this wormhole into the other side of the universe and feeling alone... John Crichton has found a new family in Ka'Dargo, Chiana, Zhaan, Stark, Rygel, Pilot, Jool (for sometime), Noranti (on the last season), Sikozu (Quiet awhile too), Pilot and the living Leviathan ship named MOYA. These aliens were prisoners of a powerful military force called Peacekeepers in which Aeryn Sun belonged but was later on expelled because she was "contaminated" already by these Aliens. Aeryn became part of the crew and later on married John.

Of course our hero would not be a hero without our hated antagonists. There was Crais who, later on, became their ally (Season 1), Scorpius (Season 2-4) whose is driven by his revenge for the Scarrans (Seasons 2-4), Grayza's quest for power (Season 3) and the Scarrans' destructive nature (in Peacekeeper Wars) .

The wormhole technology in which John has an upper hand was viewed as the main prize in their struggle for power. Scorpius wants it, Scarrans desires it... Grayza needs it. All were claiming for peace... and our hero, John and his friends struggled to escape from the clutches of these mercenaries.

While running and circling into uncharted territories, John and Aeryn has form a bond of love that neither of them ever expected. At first if was a flirtation... that turned into a full blown romance before you even know it... you will find yourself rooting for the two of them to work out. John has risked everything he has known all his life just to save Aeryn and Aeryn won't think twice of coming after Crichton when he's in trouble.

Ka'Dargo, Zhaan, Rygel and Chiana were witnesses of this love between the two. When Aeryn found out that she's pregnant and didn't know who the baby's father is (because Sebacean Women can carry the baby in stasis for 7 years, way before she met John)... John later accepts the baby even before it was known that it was his. In the end of Season 4, John proposed to Aeryn, Aeryn says yes and Aeryn revealed that John is the father of her child. ^__^

In the long run, John Crichton discovered the mystery of wormhole technology and was witness to the power it wields. He is convinced that it would never be used for peace. And he has shown just towards the end of the Peacekeeper War with the Scarrans. He challenge both parties to talk of peace when he created a wormhole in the middle of the battle of Qujaga.

It was a sight to behold. When the wormhole devoured all the ships close to it... and when there were only three ships left, Moya, Scarran Dreadnought and Peacekeeper Command Carrier... the two powerful forces in the universe was united and declared a truce.

When Aeryn gave birth to a son. They named their son Dargo in memory of their courageous shipmate who was killed in battle.

It was a poignant moment when John said to his son that the universe will be his playground.

John, Aeryn and the rest of the Gang minus Zhaan and Dargo continue living in their beloved ship Moya. He never returned to Earth although he was able to travel back and say goodbye to his dad... he wants to protect earth from the Scarrans and Peacekeepers.

So you see... FARSCAPE offered this most human trait that is easy to get but hard to keep. When everything seem like it's the end of it all... John never stops HOPING that they will prevail.

And then I realized... Clark also possess that in SMALLVILLE. That undying hope for mankind's goodness. And in LOST, Jack never stop hoping that they will find their way back after crashing on an island... Then there's FIREFLY, which offered another story. Although very complex, Mal Reynolds iron resolve to get through anything is what makes this tv series, one of the best.

I already miss John and Aeryn and their love-hate, agree-argue relationship. Shipper here.

Operation LANI + ALDRIN

December 15, 2011. LANI'S WEDDDING

It was one of those days when you wake up in the morning and you feel like there's nothing special about that day... but then again... to two particular people... it's a day to remember.

I have never been privy to Lani and Aldrin's Love Story. I never so much as asked them how did they meet and how exactly did Aldrin proposed... I just knew that you can never imagine a couple perfect for each other than these two. Well there's also my friend Maju and Marwin but that would be another post now would it?

I prepared myself for December 15 to come. Sadly I wasn't able to buy a gown because I just didn't feel like wearing one. I thought I'm sure Lani would understand and that it isn't the dress that counts... it's the presence.

I rode a taxi to Santuario De San Jose in Greenhills just so I could come before the wedding starts. Lani was there but somewhat preoccupied. You would be when you're the bride. But that didn't stop Macel and I from goind around the church and stole Lani shots from my niece's Canon 1100D camera.

It's true what they say that the bride always looks radiant on her wedding day. I would say that I find Lani an attractive woman in normal days... but at that time... she was glowing... serene... beautiful.

Way back then she was just this petite girl like me studying in UPLB and trying to get through exams and all those things. Now she's marrying the guy she loves and all the world is as it should be.

Naturally, I met with Ate Liza and her family before and after the weddinf. We caught up a little on what's happening and TANDAG of course is always one topic Tandaganons couldn't quite avoid. I told Ate Liza that there was no way for me to visit my hometown because the Domingo Clans already relocated here in Manila.

After the wedding, we spent a little more of an hour to get to the reception which is the LIGHT OF LOVE Integrity Pavilion in Quezon City.

I was greeted with lush decorations and very elegant table settings. The waiters were serving hors doeuvres while waiting for the newly married to enter the ballroom. Of course, nothing could stop Macel from studying the camera I brought because she too have been planning to get one of those DLSR camera before the year ends.

All I can say with the place is that... it's MAGICAL. The lights in the trees is a simple adornment to the place but the impact is quiet amazing. I imagine Lani being enchanted when she first laid eyes on Light of Love.

The food was great. I particularly liked eating my dessert because it was refreshing especially the Choco Mousse. I'm a sucker for chocolate.

When it was time for us to go... we didn't bother the bride and groom who were enjoying themselves in the festivities. Instead, I bade goodbye to Ate Liza and Lani's Parents for a wonderful wedding. It was one fo the lush wedding I attended. Not only did I get the chance to witness a wedding... I also witnessed FOREVER.

So to you Lani and Aldrin... You don't have to be a perfect couple. You just have to be one. Goodluck! Love yah!

Operation SUICIDE

I wasn’t really planning on watching Che-Che Lazaro Presents SUICIDE last night. But because a person close to my heart is currently suffering from depression… I felt that I had to educate myself and be aware of the social stigma happening in our society now which is SUICIDE.

I like how Che-Che Lazaro presented the topic by tackling the issue by perspective. The first perspective presented was from a daughter whose father committed suicide. The only thing I can remember about it was that her father came from a family who, almost all its members took their lives. Had I been in her position, I wouldn’t have the strength to come clean and discuss the topic about it. What really devastated her about it was that THEY DIDN’Y KNOW HOW TO HANDLE IT.

And then the second view came from an impoverished town wherein the suicide rate is off the charts. Folks who committed them had simple problems like being scolded by parents, being betrothed to someone and then rejected or that they didn’t have the means to support a family. According to the teacher who volunteered her services on educating the younger ones, if the people in that town were being educated about how serious it is to take a life, especially our own, perhaps the town would have less suicide a year. The main problem in this town is POVERTY. Surprisingly, the people in the town viewed suicide as if it was no big deal. They even hailed the person who committed it as strong… but I consider it backward thinking. Who could really blame these people?… it’s what their society dictates… And few of us look deeper and these people just had simple life that taking their own isn’t really that mind-boggling.

And then there was this man who bravely confesses that it was in his youth that he discovered that there was something wrong with him. He was SLEEPLESS, COULDN’T EAT… and he was in bed for days. And then all of the sudden, he is okay again. I knew right then that what he had is a BI-POLAR disorder. I heard Catherine Zeta-Jones have it… I heard one of my friends have it… and maybe if all people are keen enough to assess one of their loves ones on these symptoms… then maybe we could all stop everybody from committing SUICIDE.

It was such an enlightenment that people who have gone through all this has the courage to man up and tell the audience that YES, THIS PROBLEM OF DEPRESSION EXISTS AND WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Awareness is the first step to great knowledge. How would you know that you have much to learn if you haven’t got any idea that you needed to learn something in the first place…

So to you people who suffers from depression out there… I had been in that place and it was ugly and shitty… and all I can say is that you need people like me to walk you through it… at least give me a chance to help… you can reach me at 09219930214. And it's okay not to be okay. =)

Music's too loud and I'm having too much fun

I don't know why it took me so long to write this. Perhaps I would never have the chance to say it in personal. Perhaps I will be this restless soul who broke away and wander into nothingness but one thing is pretty sure... I would never be out from that this hellhole I was deep in without getting some help from these guys.

They saw me wear sunglasses from a night full of tears.

They endured that cranky petite of a girl that shouted orders and taught lessons.

They talked to someone who didn't know where to go from that place of hurt.

They made me have that drive to be the best as I once was.

They made me FORGET him.

They somehow FIXED me, well at least a quarter of what I am.

So to you guys.... thank you. This may not be the best thank you letter but trust me when I say that I am headbanging as I am writing this and imagine myself in a club dancing. So much for day-dreaming.

Operation CANYON COVE

It was one of those days when you don't want to go somewhere else and do nothing while lying in bed. My mom had to drag me out from the bed to prep up because we're going to celebrate Dannecka's Birthday.

The travel from Paranaque to Batangas lasted for about 3 hours due to traffic. Good thing I have Game of Thrones Audio Book with me to listen to. I really wasn't that enthusiastic in participating my niece's 18th Birthday Celebration.

But Canyon Cove was surprisingly refreshing. Maybe its me being away from the beach for too long or that I didn't realize that I badly needed a break... I bask into its spacious pools and enjoyed the salty some-what-therapeutic effect of the water.

My mom and I were swimming her and there... We were having fun observing my niece and her barkada posing for picture using Dannecka EOS 1000D and Angel's Nikon. These two gurls are different in their coloring but it was undeniable that they are close. Gatas at Kape ika nga.

And of course I couldn't pass up the chance to use my bikini top and paired it with some shorts. It finally dawned to me that I can now wear pretty much whatever I want. I was 60 Kg the last time and now... I am down to 40 Kg. I would've wanted to shed more weight but my mother was worried I wouldn't get out of it alive.

Going back to Canyon Cove. One of the highlights in this outing was when Dannecka & her barkada got the glimpse of the room they were going to be sleeping in. HIYAWAN ng pagkalakas-lakas na pati kami sa kabilang kwarto rinig ang hiyawan nila.

They were excited that the entire room was theirs and theirs alone. It was a sight to behold.

And the resort? Hmmm... The resort was just what I needed to recharge everything that I was taking for granted. The resort was just the beginning of so much outings to come. And I hope you could even share just one bit of enjoyment I had.

I don't have work, I practically dependent on my parents and I don't have any direction. But one thing is for certain... I've never been free as I am now.

I tried getting images from my niece's camera, it seems that the photos were deleted already. Haaayyy, so I had to make use of the photos I have. =(

Operation NATHAN FILLION

It's been a long while since I sat down in my not so comfy chair by the dining area and write spontaneously. I was busy shipping on somebody and it seems that I couldn't get enough of Nathan Fillion.

I heard on how CASTLE has rave reviews and I always see their pictures in my Tumblr dashboard. So I decided to take a peek on the Pilot Episode and since then... I couldn't get enough of Nathan Fillion.

In Castle, he plays Richard Castle who shadows NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (played by Stana Katic) while she is out solving murders in the streets of New York. It's an unusual set-up but it works. Richard Castle has been instrumental in solving crimes and Kate has sides of her that as the show goes on... it keeps you at the edge of your seat second-guessing their actions toward each other.

And so I have finished watching Castle Season 1 up to Season 3. They are in Season 4 now and as much as I hate having to wait weekly for my two heroes. It just gets better and better that I find myself looking forward to Mondays like I still have a job. ^___^

FIREFLY. One of Nathan Fillion's finest works yet came as a surprise. The fact the its was written and created by Joss Whedon (One who also created Buffy) didn't even crossed my mind that it would have am impact in the way I would see myself in a few weeks.

I was just addicted to Firefly like any other geek out there who felt robbed of my right to see quality shows like it. It was somewhat bittersweet upon reading that Nathan would've bought the rights to the series if he won a lottery or something. Which makes me wonder... where was I when firefly was airing the US and wanted my support?

Thankfully though... they had made a movie SERENITY in continuum to the series. Nathan Fillion even won in his role as Malcolm Reynolds in this futuristic setting. He won that award even when Firefly was 3 years cancelled at that time. I love everything about the show. Its ensemble cast... the darkness of the REAVERS looming and the threat of ALLIANCE just around the corner. It was a great show. Damn. It was such a great show.

So this is about the actor of my two favorite show on TV. It's hard not to like Nathan Fillion because he is just so likable. He was the anti-hero in FIREFLY and he is this charming metro-sexual turned crime-fighter in CASTLE. Gotta love also the fact that Stana Katic is still single. Why don't you two hook up then? ^___^

Operation GATEWAY 1.0

GATEWAY MALL, August 27,2011

So there I was hurrying my way to MRT Magallanes station because Enzo's mother is adamant that it was 4:30pm and not 6pm was the meeting in Gateway Mall.

How was I to know that damn bus driver plan to stop for so long in Bicutan just so he could have as many passengers to cover their quota?

On my way to Gateway Mall, I readily ignored the shops that are calling out to me to get to Northpark because that's where Grace, Macel and Carl were dining in. ^___^

And then I saw them and the rest was forgotten. Hahaha. We catch up... busy here and there... Carl was promoted in his work and Grace and her hubby were planning to stay for good in Romblon. Macel is as good as a mother and an accomplished businesswoman... and then there was ME who doesn't have a job and is living day by day.

And then we saw this kid eating his DQ on our stroll around the premises. The kid is so chubby and so cute that we couldn't resist taking his pic.

We must be very thankful of friends like these and smile at their silliness at times. I always asar Grace about things and I am just so proud of our Carl for making it big in his career. Macel got everything on her hands now except for some misadventures on housemaids that steal. My success shall remain to be a mystery. Who knows... in the future to come they'd be proud of me as I am proud of them.

Macel and I stuck around for a little while in Starbucks while I had my coffee fix, her Enzo was munching on M&Ms. She couldn't believe I still need one, little did she know I'm a sucker for caffeine nowadays. ^__^

Missing you guys already. Can't wait for the next round.

Operation Domingo MOA 2.0

As if we always ran out of pictures that my mom still had to receive a camera from Auntie Dadat. Now we have two cameras.

This MOA was the time we saw PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN - On Stranger Tides... AGAIN. Bella, Joners and I saw it and then after a week... my family decided to watch it. And of course... the always-GAME Auntie that I am... I obliged. ^___^

My favorite time was when Josah and I had a Fiorgelato. Sarap.

Winter is coming. First episode of the TV Series Game of Thrones.

All it takes is an HOUR... to get me hooked on this HBO's adaptation of George R.R. Martin's epic tale of dragons, medieval magic and warring kingdoms. I will buy A Song of Ice and Fire Collection even if it kills me. Hehehe.

Operation BIRTHDAY

August 7, 2011. My Birthday.

There's just one thing I wanted most for my birthday. No fancy celebration, just family gathering. And my mom, with my sis and the rest of the gang did just that.

I woke up this morning being greeted by a series of hugs and kisses from my three nieces. Of course Dannecka and JayJay were nowhere to be found... you might say they found some computer shop to spend their time to because their Auntie Gaga doesn't want her laptop to be touched.

Then my mom prepared this delicious and very very tempting breakfast of GINATAANG KALABASA. Wow... Who wouldn't want to wake up in the morning with the way I did.

Then I saw my brother grilling the TULINGAN mom bought earlier. Of course my sister is nowhere to be found... she does that all the time you know. Sleep the wee hours to avoid the chores of the day. Typical you might say. So we help prepare the CARBONARA mom is an expert at. Danneck was in charged with the FRUIT SALAD because she is very good at desserts. My sister is still asleep. No hope for her

It was 12 o'clock when the table was finally set. I love the simplicity of my birthday because my mom's cooking is all it matters when it comes to KAINAN. I wouldn't want to order anything from fast food chains when the best TUNA CARBONARA is being served and GRILLED TULINGAN (with Pinakurat vinegar) and plenty of hotdogs for the kids. It was a blast. It was perfect.

I thought that the day couldn't be anymore enjoyable until my brother and my sister decided to play TONG-ITS and of course accompanied with bets. Lots and lots of bets. I was the underdog of course... my sister and my brother are always fighting about who wins and who loses and who cheated their way through. It never changes you know... I just thought that of all the times they're arguing... it that moment that I know I wouldn't want any other sister or brother than these two. I am ready to lose at any battle as long as I have them to argue along the way.

The TANDUAY ICE is the best beverage while we saw the three kids dance as their GIFT to me. My nieces are such good dancers. They are mana to their tita. ^___^

Then it was nightime and dinner was served. I didn't quiet enjoyed it because mom and I hurried to attend Mass to a nearby church. Along the way we had some talk and as usual, we planned about the family's future. I told her that I will be with her every step of the way... blah blah blah... my mom may never show it but she is terrified about my future... and challenger as I am... I am excited to show her that I can make it. I won't be her daughter for nothing if I couldn't.

So we went home and buy Ice Cream which is consumed minutes after. That is how Domingo Family pillage the food even from our fridge. It doesn't get old.

Then it was time to thank people who greeted in the facebook world. Check emails and write this blog, A day has gone by and I didn't feel alone... it was just a glorious feeling of being alive and be love by the people who matter.

My wish? Is that I will grow old and still have this zest for life that I almost let go of. Thanks to the people who believe in me. It's almost a cliche saying/writing that but you wouldn't think so months ago had you seen me then... but then again... the past is history and the future is a mystery... and today is A GIFT. That's why it's called PRESENT.

I hope you all get to spend it to the people who matters. Just like I did mine. ^___^

Operation SHUFFLE

This is an early gift from my mom. I was thinking of buying an Ipod Shuffle to keep me company in my run.

As they say... great things come in small packages. And it did for me that afternoon when I arrived home and found this in my mom's palm and she had that mischievous smile in her face.

She said that my birthday is coming up. And then she recounted again how she labored for 3 days when she delivered me into this world. It was the tale that I would never tire of hearing because the latter part will be embellished with the myth that if your were born at night, you would have a not so bright child. And if your child is born in the morning, he/she will be smart. But if your child is born at the time when the sun is at its highest post (11am-12pm, noontime that is), your child would be smarter, better, lovelier. Haha. You don't have to guess what time of the day I was born. ^___^

So here is my Ipod Shuffle with her partner. I should have gotten an orange speaker but I didn't know I will have an orange shuffle.

Operation GURLS BONDING

Who would thought that I'd be in cahoots with my sister about shopping in an Ukay-Ukay. Well, sometimes miracles happen and that's one of those times.

It was a rainy morning when we decided to take a walk and dropped by our favorite ukay-ukay store. It's our favorite because one of my boots was purchased there for just Php400. Yep, believe it.

She was looking for some flat shoes that she could use the next day. I was in a mood to find something to add to my wardrobe.

Afternoon came and she didn't even find her flat shoes. While me on the other hand, bought a skirt for just Php100. It's the little things that makes a gurl smile just like skirts. Hahaha.

After we arrive home, I got some bonding time with one of my nieces and we ate two servings of Mango Cake from Red Ribbon.

The only thing that is missing is that RUN I always have in Sunday Afternoon. I wasn't able to run because it's always raining. Instead, I settled for a good afternoons sleep and woke up just before dinner.

All of us has a little family dysfunction but... I saw this BONES tv show once... Booth said that "Family is supposed to get under your skin". My sister and I are bickering the whole time, but... should anyone ever make her cry... that ANYONE will answer to me.

When I got down the stairs Saturday morning and I knew that my brother and his daughters are there for the weekend. The house is bustling with chatters from 3 girls who's got nothing better to do than talk with hotdog on one hand. The Sucat house has been invaded once again.

It was just a normal weekend only this time we spent it with family of course. We even went to Baclaran Church and commute as one family. It was loads of fun especially when my niece Shane decided to throw tantrums on our way home.

The only thing that's great about having my brother over the weekend is the MEALS. My mom would prepare this sumptuous breakfast with grilled Tulingan accompanied with spicy sawsawan. The lunch is as good as the breakfast. I think my mom always makes my brother these meals because she knew he would never have it in Nueva Ecija. He is in the army by the way.

At night, we took a walk minus my brother. I promised the three girls to get them ice cream down the road. I can't say I'm a model Aunt but when it comes to them... I tend to do a little grounding on my own. Maybe it's my way of showing them how lucky they are right now when we could afford something... luckier than us when we couldn't even have airconditioning in out room. Of course my mom would always brag about them living with just veggies as food.

Overall, it was great to catch up again on Domingo Family. I don't think I admitted it to somebody but I believe we are a tight-knit family. ^___^

Operation BARLINES 2.0

Written May 26, 2011. YES, 2 MONTHS AGO.

Guess what? I will be 6 years here in Barlines and I've had my share of great colleagues and even greater teachers. I had my position here which was as a trainee way back June 6, 2005. The first time I walked in to submit my resume... Yna, the Administrative officer mistook me to a lost teenage girl. She had to pry twice that they were looking for a civil engineer... and I had to insist twice that I am an civil engineer.

My journey was tough at first. I had started my trainee months with a good amount of yelling and scolding from my superiors. I hadn't regretted what I had done then and I won't now. It became a part of me.

What was I doing? I'm not writing this to tell a story about me. This is about the people I have worked with. I hope you all enjoy my divulging of private people. It's unintentional so get over yourself. These are paid compliments... if you are one of those listed below and you did not like what I have written, feel free to message me and we can work something out. ^___^

Buckle up because we got the youngest employee here...

The RAINMAKER. Rebecca C. Naturally, Miss Cruz is untouchable. She should be devoid of worries on all jobs done and all that are pending. Her main role got all her time already from juggling two accounts which are PHILS and US financing department.

Then there's also two great guys.

The BENDER. Kuya Rey. He was spearheading the fabrication of rebar in our sister company Barlines Reinforcing. He stays our of the office but once in a while he spends his time in the office to go through jobs i the Philippines.

The CONGRESSMAN. Manong Zaldy is the best messenger you can find. He knows Makati by heart and he can even get you coffee blind-folded. He is called congressman in King's Court because he acts like one. Approachable and eager to booth.

And then there's the BIG FOUR.

The FUTURE. It's not figuratively... it's literally. They are the future of Barlines. They may start out weak and grasping for knowledge but each has its own contribution to the group. I always see Chiemi as this tough gal who could handle columns... in line with her would be Glenda who is training to be the beam expert. Then there's Chris who Mady wants to clone and there's also the big brother JKris of the group who shows such promise I can't even begin to start telling you. =P (Bolang bola na ba?)

The ALL-AROUNDer. Joenrick A. He is both a detailer and an estimator. Sometimes, you'll find a hard time determining if he is doing a detailing job of rushing off an estimating assignment. The great thing about this guy... HE IS GOOD IN BOTH. Especially if you're yelling. You might want to give him post-it notes once in a while, he gets jealous on some guys being given one and he doesn't get any. Surely he know he is always appreciated by me, some things are better left unsaid ano Jun-Jun? =P

The OPTIMUS SHEARER. Bryan P. Like Joenrick, he is a well-rounded guy when it comes to tasks. The only thing that drives you mad with him is that he tends to see to everything you need that you forget that he also has responsibilities. He is both ans estimator and a detailer which I couldn't even do at the same time but he is handling it well. Hmp. Since the absence of Dennis, he started doing the Optimum Shearing task for bidding on Philippines Jobs. With the amount of work this guys could do... he can replace me anytime. How do I deserve someone like you? ^___^

The BREAD QUEEN. Yna B. Who would protest that this morena beauty would rule the kingdom of detailer and estimators out there? Wala. She has always had our back and even done things for us to the T. Yna is the best officer to discipline you with log-ins and phone call logs. She even crossed Ts with Mady if its necessary. She is our Queen. Go bow down people. =P

Me? I'm the noise... I'm the loud... I'm the prodigal daughter who chose to leave this all behind.

Love you guys. Don't ask me if I miss you... I don't. I love being a BUM. Haha.

July 1, 2011. Midnight and smoking... playing my guitar... and writing.

I know it seems a bit late... I know that at times, I may be blind... oblivious… clueless… but with my weakness… I have my strengths. And one of those is the ability to retain as much memory as possible.

I don’t easily forget… I remember things… lots of things… and one thing I do remember is give tribute to one of person who has been so… you know what, why don’t we countdown his flaws instead?

10 things I hate about Bryan

10. I hate it when he patronizes. He does that all the time to people. Yna enjoys it because she’s that open and very much childlike (no offense to her, I love that about her). But me? I tend to get uneasy maybe because apart from my family… I don’t expect that on people. I am raised to GET MYSELF THE THINGS I WANT... BY MYSELF. That’s how I see things… and Bryan’s selflessness is so unbelievable. I feel pampered and I hate it. Hehehe. (Crazy me)

9. I hate it when he seems to know nothing. And then all of the sudden… here he is… surprising you with the things he know… with the things he has gone through… I can predict people at times and when I am surprised, that means I AM SURPRISED. ^___^

8. I hate it that he is one of those people that I have the courage to shed my tough side and cry my heart out. Maybe because of our years working together… maybe because I know that our friendship is like my friendship with other guys. No malice… no romantic notions… just plain being there… helping you through it and even volunteers his girlfriend to be the “CURE” to my slipping sanity. All those times in Las Pinas that I felt like the world is coming to an end… that wake up call was all it took for this petite girl to get back up. Although I haven’t expressed it enough, thank you Bryan and thank you Rose. =P

7. I hate it when he scolds me about a certain taboo TOPIC. I know he looks out of my well-being but sometimes, a girl talks about things to make her immune… but at times, I know that avoiding that TOPIC is also helpful. So I hate him for seeing that side of things that I am blind to... because I should have thought about it… and he beats me to it.

6. I hate it when he leaves a note and you know he’s got your back. Because as a girl who strives hard to be her own person and not rely on others… it’s the little things that gets to you when you’re on the precipice of being tough and yet be soft because you have friends that care. I don’t want to want to rely on others and he has shown several times that whatever I do… whatever happens… he’s a friend that stays…

5. I hate it when he asks questions. Maybe because I know in my heart he already know the answer but he just wants to VERIFY that we are on the same wavelength. But then again, when you trust somebody that he has already learned everything there is to learn about our line of work… you don’t want him to VERIFY anything… I want to tell him that HE IS GREAT and I HAVE EVERY FAITH that he will lead our pack of engineers to the next Golden Age… the only sad thing is that I won’t be there to see it.

4. I hate it when he shows CARE among the guys in our operation department. I guess he knows that I might eat the guys alive when delivering my instructions and he wants to be there to act as a buffer. But then again when you look at it… it gives comfort to those guys who are afraid of me… who are afraid of my wrath… He makes me look like I’m the bad guy but I love it nonetheless because that’s how I want others to see me… because when it comes to work, it should be serious… unforgiving and ruthless. And I want to instill it to the guys and Bryan is also teaching them that kindness that I could never teach. Not me. Hehehe.

3. I hate it that he is one of the people I hate leaving in BARLINES. It is common knowledge that Yna and Mady are included. But Bryan is one person who I hated leaving because I would want to witness the rise of the new blood with Chiemi, Chris, Glenda and Jkris. I would want to see how he will be able to do it with the help of Joenrick. I have no doubt that they can do it... but it bums me to know that I’m not going to be a part of it. Damn. =P

2. I hate it when he uses his rain checks to bail out on a night out. But when you get to know Rose (his girlfriend)… perhaps you would understand how devoted he is and how sweet at fetching his girlfriend. It’s like watching a love story flourish minus your petty “tampo” because he can’t be there. And in a way, you are happy that they work. (Hi Rose)

1. I hate it when he tends to do everything and not allow others to do something for him. I want to tell him that he needn’t prove that he deserves the position he is in now. I want to tell him that it’s okay to leave things are… and it’s okay to rely on people… (That is an advice from someone who tends to not rely on people too). Seriously… Bryan… you don’t have to do everything… and don’t be afraid failing… because in failure rises a great leader… (like ME, hay… ang yabang ko talaga…)

My brother and I always conspire on mischievous acts… we dominated… we triumphed… and that is how I have grown to be hard and sometimes rude. And thanks to him… I have this side of me who kicks butt although not literally.

You on the other hand, you have shown me that you don’t have to be hard-hitting to be respected… you don’t have to boss around like I always do to get to the point. And thanks to you… I can now have this side that can be a girly-girly and then I’ll strike when everybody is not looking. (Just Kidding)… Thanks to you… my faith in people is reinforced.

I will stand by you just as AUSTONIAN STOOD BY SPRING TOWER.

I’m sorry but I can’t help myself. I have to cite some things that maybe all of you know already but... you know what? I might have known her a little deeper than most of you. After all, 6 years is hard to come by and every step of the way Yna and I have been butting heads, gossiping breadwinners and laughing at hilarious moments.

1512 days, 7 days a week, 8 hours a day, who doesn’t know someone if you had been with them that long? And when I get to know that someone… I am bound to hate that person.

10 things I hate about YNA

10. I hate how she remembers every single detail about things. I have a brilliant mind and I can tell you that I have a vast recall on things, but this girl has got this amazing KNACK for all things to consider. When you have an admin like her who plans your vacation, buckle up because you won’t have anything to worry, SHE CONSIDERED, PLANNED AND PREPARED FOR IT. Even the terminal fees and allowances. Remember that Calatagan trip when we had our own allowances for us to enjoy it? SUPER GREAT.

9. I hate how she fancies make-up. She doesn’t fancy it because she looks beautiful wearing every damn make-up whether it’s cheap or costly. She fancies them for the sake that SHE’S HAPPY HAVING ALL THAT MAKE UP and not be able to wear every one of them at the same time. ^___^

8. I hate how she has the courage to speak up to Mady. And argue about everything from budgets to the welfare of every employee in Barlines. I can talk back to Mady provided that I am right but not on everything.

7. I hate how she likes hearts… fairytales… fairy godmothers… Santa Claus. Sorry, I can say I’m not jaded enough to hate the idea of fantasy all around us but oh my… the child in Yna come bursting in… and it’s contagious. One minute I know myself to be over that happy ending things and that destiny is to be search and act on… then one minute I will start to believe that there maybe things she does know that I don’t… and that’s how sometimes… the tooth fairy can make Pinocchio a real boy… All you need it to BELIEVE.

6. I hate how she’s a good sport and I’m not. This is coming from a girl who was once fat and now has issues with being joked at that she’s going to be fat again. Yna knows no boundaries on whether she is the topic of every joke. She handles it like she doesn’t care, she’s gorgeous and you can eat your heart out. Amen to that.

5. I hate it when she’s clueless about THINGS. Like when I am telling a joke and she just stares at you like you’ve got something on your face... She didn’t get you joke. And when you tell everyone that same joke… everybody laughs. And she still doesn’t get it. It’s so adorable and yet so grrrrr… I want to throttle her but that would be murder. Hahaha.

4. I hate how she obsesses on ONE thing and one thing only (ALL DAY). One day she got mistaken as a married woman with kids (probably that retarded guy just wants to hit on her and wants to know as well if she’s available)… and you know what happened next? Every BREADWINNER in the office was asked if she looked like someone who is married and has kids. And I told her that she’s so beautiful that it’s just unbelievable that she’s not hitched yet and that probably that was what the guy thought too. Oh NO… you thought the issue is going to end there… nah… we had to reassure her all afternoon that that jerk was really just hitting on her… too bad he encountered a clueless person like my friend here.

3. I hate it when she plays the current song that she like OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I just hate it. And at the same time… it leaves room for me to tease her about it… to joke that to everyone… And no matter how sick you are of hearing that song… you just have to understand that your friend likes it that way… and friendship is more important than that damn song. Right Yna?

2. I hate it when we are on different sides. She had different views than mine… she’s careful, cautious and tends to make things clearer by the minute when I am the one barging in… taking the plunge and getting hurt. I guess I wanted her to try and live life the way I want her to live it. But then again, she has this perfect little world that you wouldn’t want to ruin it for her.

1. I hate how she can strike a chord inside me when she happens to be right at something that I am good at. I admit that I was earthbound... hit rock bottom months ago and doesn't want care about work and things. She suddenly attack me with texts about how I allow my friends to cover for me and how did I manage to go 360 degrees from this no-nonsense girl to being to total bitch not showing up for work and all... and she did hit a chord because after that, I got so angry for not cutting me some slack (and then realizing that... wait a minute... she already did that countless times for me... I guess I was a total bitch after all)... so I straighten up... with some help... some saving... some friends who were there...

I hate these things about her because some of these things… I strive to do them and yet this girl unwittingly and unknowingly does this all the time… She’s effortless in achieving things while I am working hard to do them…

I hate them because no matter how you hate little things in someone… that’s one of the factors why they leave impressions to your heart… and those impressions will make you laugh just thinking about it… will make you fight back just thinking how she fought back… will make you take life not so seriously… and ultimately… will make you BELIEVE in unbelievable things like a FRIEND that you hate to love but you love nonetheless.

Somebody asked me what is my favorite song... and for a minute there I couldn't tell him. Maybe because my mood changes like the weather that there are tons and tons of songs that I like depending on my state of mind.

For a music person like me, it's hard to define yourself with just one song. When I was with someone, I can readily tell him what is my favorite song... and now... it seems that even the my song selection should undergo a whole make-over.

So to you out there... here are the 15 songs that I could say would define me. FOR NOW.

15. Breathe In Breathe Out – Mat Kearney. BRACING MYSELF. When there’s that unreachable thing… or that hurdle that is too great to overcome… I brace myself and I find the courage to carry on… and you just jump and overcome it.

14. You Could be Happy – Snow Patrol. BITTERSWEET. You know that feeling that you love something or someone that you are willing to wish them that happy ending that you so badly wanted for yourself but you just have to believe that God has this grand plans for you, otherwise, what’s the point in all this right? I dunno but this song really gets to me.

13. By your Side – Sade. ROMANTIC. I am a self-proclaimed romantic. I love slow dances… avowals of love… happy endings. You may not see it in this tough façade but I am all those things and more… I always picture myself not as a damsel in distress but someone who is strong enough to be somebody’s woman.

12. Yeah – Chris Brown. FUN. Sorry, I’m not all emo… I’m fun too. Hahaha! Got I love to dance… Let’s dance.

11. Science and Faith – The Script. CONFLICTING. This is me daydreaming of that guy who can stand by me and equal me in things. I don’t ask for much… I just want someone who could accept that I am weird… different and very very much opinionated.

10. Jump then Fall – Taylor Swift. Not only that I love this song but I love singing this with my niece Josah. This is me going back to being a KID without a clue on things… it’s like you having no inhibitions… no worries on what others might think… no restrictions… just have to take that leap of faith.

9. One More Day - Vast. This is a sad song. And although you won't find my eyes all teary while I'm playing this... just know that if this is what's playing in my desk... I'm SAD at the moment.

8. Hoppipolla - Wenzel Templeton & Robert Pegg. This is an EPIC song. Just like the way I WANT TO SEE myself. I know that a lot of people happen to be confused on what they want out of life... I know exactly what I want... I want to live my life INFLUENCING others. Inspiring them. I want them to remember me. To matter.

7. Family Tree - Matthew West. I am RESOLUTE. This is played when I want to remind myself to quit beating myself up over past mistakes. This is me INSISTING that my life, although NOT PERFECT, is the way I WANT IT TO BE. This is me justifying that whatever choices I have made... It has led me to this moment... and I wouldn't want it ANY OTHER WAY.

6. Little Wonders – Rob Thomas. When I am remembering something… when I’m happy without reason… This is me smiling while walking… this is me CHERISHING moments that I would pass down to my daughters and sons… I would say that I am THOUGHTFUL while playing this song.

It’s like you’re one with the world… you want to dance while walking… you want to smile while talking… dancing in the rain… tasting that delicious meal your mom had prepared… good old banter with friends…

4. Learning to Fly – Tom Petty. This is me BELIEVING. That whatever things may come... I am bound to outdo all of them. This is me being unstoppable and just charging in because I have a heart to believe and I have my mind to make it all come true.

This is me hitching a ride or picturing myself on a roadtrip. This is me carrying out my quest… me chasing my dreams… me working hard for that something. 2. Can’t Take My Eyes of You – Damian Rice. All of us wanted something out of life, I guess what I have been really dreaming is some PASSION AND CONVICTION. Although this is a romantic song… the way it sounds and the way he says it… it’s more than just that great tune and good lyrics. The whole package itself speaks of passion and burning love. I want that, I want to live that life of desire and decisiveness. I just want it. I dunno why. Hehehe.

1. Sober - Kelly Clarkson. This song is HOPEFUL. It's like waking from a dream and finding you are slowly healing and moving on. If this is playing... then chances are... I'm HOPEFUL and very much optimistic.

Operation VISION IN MOTION

Super. I registered in this fun run way back May 17, 2011. The fun run was originally scheduled on June but it was moved back to July 3, 2011 and held at Mall of Asia.

This is my third RUN in my quest to stay fit. There were no butterflies in my stomach anymore... no tremors or fear that I won't make my mark or even beat my time.

I haven't considered winning races like these... I could say that the competition I consider is myself. It's like me against me when it comes to running. Hehehe. Talaga lang ha.

So there I was making my way through the crowd. It was 5:15 in the morning and I still have to claim my race kit because I wasn't able to get it in the one of the Ideal Vision shops.

People were gathered on the race track, what I like most in them is that excitement in there eyes when they're about to run. Families were there to race also in pack... I regretted not having my family but there's always next time.

21:11 to be exact was my time. Not bad for a once 60kg gal like me to 40kg. Funny how the distance goes by and you realized you're not happy with 3K anymore. Perhaps I should consider running 5K next time.

Freebies were also given away by the sponsors. I love Pocari Sweat and they were all there for the taking. The only thing that's missing is the photobooth so I had to rely on my thick face to ask for someone to get my pic through my phone.

Operation KURO-KURO 2.0

10 things MADY has taught me

When I walked in in Barlines 6 years ago wearing my khaki 3/4 pants and white shirt, I didn't count on being interviewed, hired that same afternoon. I even had to confirm twice that I am an engineer. I was looking very girly then...

Here are just some of the greatest things I learned from my boss Mady.

1. Never ever call somebody MA'AM or SIR. Because by then you are putting yourself under him. And don't think that by calling him Sir or Ma'am... you are being polite. When I went to the US, everybody calls their boss by their first name... and that is how I call MADY... always.

2. Don't correct the person about his or her mistakes when you are not that SURE he or she is wrong. If you correct someone, you better be right... or else... what's the point?

3. It's okay to be yelled at, as long as you yell back. Yell back especially when you're right. Well at least I yell back at him... and he seems to be taking it when I show him the error of his ways.

4. Always cover your @ss. When you're doing something and you think you might be held responsible when the time comes... you put it into writing... you record it in the notes... you jot it down so that any assumptions and notes are accounted for. Leave no room for mistakes.

5. Commit hard mistakes but never the easy ones. You better commit one you have no control off or that because you don't have resources or information was withheld from you... but to commit mistake just because you forgot about that thing and that you were too lazy to look at the details and miss something... oh... if you can commit easy mistakes like that... chances are... you will commit bigger mistakes when things got worst.

6. Keeping the ball at your court is never a good idea. If you got any question or violent reaction... you voice it... you pass it on to the person you got issues with... so that in return... he could do something about it. Never leave the option to them to hurt you once again... because in that way, they could blame you that you never had reactions and you realized that you should have voiced it a long time ago.

7. Never assume or presume. Assumptions are crucial in our line of work... to assume that you know something is a very dangerous thing. There is the Internet for emails and a phone for voice calling, why don't you take the initiative to call and ask questions... resolve the issue before assuming something. I'd rather be yelled at for asking questions than be yelled at for committing mistakes. Right?

8. You are not perfect. And when you are at the top of your game... you seize it... yo conquer it... you enjoy it... because time will come that you won't be number one... that you won't be the best... and you never knew what hit you. The secret to prolonging success is not the drive to do the best every time you do something... it's within you to be the best... so don't fuss... if you say you're the best... YOU ARE. Being the best should be effortless... it shouldn't be an act... it should be a habit.

9. Be good at what you do. If you have been doing that thing that you do for years now, what's the reason that you're not good at it? YOU SHOULD BE. In fact, you should be the best at it.

10. You can have everything. If your love ones are those who suffer because of your success... then you are not successful at all. And don't for a minute think that there are sacrifices that must be made... because if you want something with all your heart... you can have everything without sacrificing something.

I never expected my first work in Barlines to be this rewarding. I was yelled at here... I spent countless hours working my @ss off here... I spent the night of my birthday here... I cried... I almost quit... and then I got better because that's what you do when you love something... You work hard and you make it better. It shaped me today and it will define me tomorrow.

My boss, Amadeus Magpile, taught me how to deal things in LIFE the way you handle work. With the same passion and drive that I have everyday.

There is not a day that think I will fail myself... because in this world that we live in... DESPAIR should never have a place in your heart... so savor that moment of being the underdog...

When it gets so low that you couldn't handle it anymore... life will offer you something and there's no stopping you from getting that dream of yours and making it a reality.
