Evil Dead Remake Trailer

Movie Reviews- Deadfall | The Sessions | The Collection | Flight

Deadfall- This movie is about a casino heist gone wrong. With Eric Banas and Olivia Wilde as they are fleeing end up crashing their car and having to shoot a state cop to escape. They split up and go their separate ways in a nasty blizzard. Their paths meet again as trouble ensues. I really enjoyed this movie. It wasn't a huge production and did have a few minutes of boring scenes but for the most part the story was great. I rate this one 3.5 out of 5. Definitely worth a rental if you enjoy action.

The Sessions -This movie is up for a lot of nominations so you know it is going to be good. It is based off a book which I believe was a true story about a man in an iron lung. He can only move his head and is a great poet. He fell in love with one of his nurses but the feelings were not mutual. He sets on a quest to lose his virginity. It is a compelling tale and very different. It was very refreshing. I definitely recommend this one folks. I rate it 4.5 out of 5 and put it on the must watch list if you enjoy drama/comedy movies.

The Collection-A horror flick about a psychotic serial killer who always brings back one person to his hideaway. This is a sequel to the Collector if you have seen it but you don't need to see it to get this movie. There are some crazy contraptions and it reminds me of Saw. If you are a horror fan and especially if you are a fan of Saw, I definitely recommend it. I rate this one 4 out of 5 but keep in mind I am a big horror fan!

Flight-Another nominated movie is coming out to dvd/bluray and it is Flight. Denzel Washington stars in this one as a pilot who enjoys some coke and alcohol on the flight. They go into a storm and have some turbulence but Denzel flies them through that fine. Then something malfunctions on the plane and Denzel saves the day and lands the plan safely with only four dead. Then the trouble ensues for him. This is a great story that never dulls. I rate this one 4.5 out of 5. Must watch and Denzel is amazing in it.

Couple of New Hard Rock Music Videos| AIC and Hatebreed

Here are a couple of new music videos I have been enjoying lately. First one came out maybe 3 weeks ago by Alice In Chains. It is called Hollow and it bring me back to the cd Dirt. What do you all think?? There is no release date for their album yet but I can tell you it is completed and will be out sometime in 2013 according to sources.

Next up is the new music video that was released by Hatebreed just yesterday. As usual it pounds and is only 2 minutes long so be prepared to want to listen to it many more! I enjoyed the video, it has some blood and fire which in my opinion makes a great video :) As for their new album it is called "The Divinity of Purpose" and is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on January 29th.

One last news I read the other day which has me pumped is sometime this year KillSwitch Engage is going to come out with a new album. Can't wait. Here is to a great 2013, metal/hard rock is not dead!

Movie Reviews: End of Watch | Looper | The Thompsons | Dredd

End Of Watch: This movie is from the creator of Training Day. It was very well done and has lots of action in it. It had some intense cop scenes and even had its funny moments. Great job on acting by both of the main characters and it really felt like they were partners. I rate this one 4 out 5. Definitely want to watch this one folks.

Looper: This one is a movie about mobsters who send people back 30 years to people called loopers who kill the person and then dispose of the body. Great acting with a start studded cast. It stars Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt. Joseph Gordon-Levitt appeared to have his fact altered. I am not sure the reason but maybe it was to make him look more like Bruce Willis's bone structure. This movie is original and will blow your mind. If you loved Deception then you want to check this movie out. I rate it 4.5 out of 5.

The Thompsons: This movie is a horror movie and is the sequel to the Hamiltons. It is about a vampire family who is on the run. This one has some gory scenes and good action. No big actors but they all acted very well. I did not see the first movie but after watching this, I definitely want to check it out. The vampires in this movie are not your typical vampires. I won't tell you what I mean, you will just have to watch. I rate this one 3 out of 5. Can skip it if you aren't a vampire fan. I am guessing the next movie will be called The Hendersons (totally just guessing).

Dredd: This one is a rehash of the Sylvester Stallone movie Judge Dredd. It is in a futuristic time where cops are called Judges and they ride on awesome motorcycles. They have badass guns and sentence people to the cube. I was not expecting much from this movie. The original bombed in the theater and on video. I can't say I even watched it but if I did, I blacked it out from my mind. With that said, I really enjoyed this movie. It had non stop action and even some nice bloody parts. If you love expendables and action type movie, definitely watch this one. I rate it 3.5 out of 5. I am actually hoping they are doing a sequel but not sure because I don't think it did very well at the box office.

I have been watching a bunch of movies lately and haven't had time to do full write ups and to be honest many of them don't deserve them Lol. I will however give you my ratings and a few sentences about each.

The Watch- It has a bunch of big stars in it but the storyline was pretty bizarre. I did laugh a bunch of times and it did keep me intrigued. It could have been a little shorter and much funnier. I give this one 2.5 out of 5. Worth a rental if you like silly comedies.

Killer Joe- I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Had some great stars in it and kept my interest the whole way through. It has some intense scenes that leave you on the edge of your seat. The ending was crazy and I would have liked to have seen more. I rate this one 4 out of 5. I definitely recommend this one if you love suspense drama movies.

Hit and Run- This movie was decent. It took a little while for the story to start up and I was getting bored. Then it picked up and kept my interest. It has its funny moments and has mucho car action. I rate this one 3 out of 5.

Dead Season- horrible and pointless story. Didnt really go into too much and i wanted to turn it off several times. I rate this one 1 out of 5. Steer clear of this one folks.

Axed- This one is about a guy who gets axed from his job and goes crazy. It is a horror flick pretty much. It kept my interest and had its gory moments. I rate this one 3 out of 5 if you enjoy psychotic horror movies.

Jurassic Shark- horrible is too nice of a word. The acting was horrible. Barely any blood or nudity. I shut it off and just couldn't bare to waste anymore time with it even for the sake of this review. I rate this one 0.1 out of 5!

Movie Review: That's My Boy 2012

Synopsis: While in his teens, Donny fathered a son, Todd, and raised him as a single parent up until Todd's 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd's world comes crashing down when Donny resurfaces just before Todd's wedding.

Lots of big actors/actresses in this one. Obviously Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, it also has Leighton Meester, Will Forte, and the best actor in the world, Vanilla Ice!! Let me get this out of the way, if you don't enjoy some dirty raunchy jokes then do not watch this movie. Just steer away because you will not enjoy it. I on the other hand love Happy Madison movies and their crude humor. Most people didn't enjoy Jack and Jill and my dad and I loved it! This movie has so many good one liners in it that you will be reciting with your friends the next day. My favorite line in the movie is from Vanilla Ice near the end but I am not going to tell you it because it has a spoiler in it.

I rate this movie 4 out of 5. I thought it was non stop funny and kept my attention the whole time. I am sure many of our readers will totally disagree with me on my rating but that's ok. Everyone has their own opinion and mine just happens to be right ;) Just kidding, like I said if you enjoy Adam Sandler and American Pie type movies then I think you will love this movie!

Movie Review: Prometheus 2012

Synopsis: A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

There is lots to be said about this movie. It is directed by Ridley Scott and if you aren't familiar with him then you must not be a fan of sci-fi movies. He has done Blade Runner and the world famous Alien movies. The scenery and CGI was well done and looked insane. The movie just topped a little over 2 hours but never got boring for one minute. It kept you hooked on the edge of your seat or couch trying to figure out the story and what will happen next. The synopsis doesn't really explain it too well. There aren't that many actors/actresses that were famous in this one except for small role by Guy Pearce and the beautiful Charlize Theron. The movie has its funny parts and has its crazy sci fi scenes. Basically a team is assembled to find the origins of mankind. In other words, who created the humans. The scientists find some relics that lead it to a planet and they investigate and try to find their creators. This movie has robots in it too. Fun for everybody!

I rate this movie 4.5 out of 5. I thought it was greatly done all around. The CGI looked lifelike and the scenery was spectacular. It looked great in HD and the sound was awesome. The storyline was very well done and it even had an awesome twist at the end that I was not expecting. I can't wait for the second movie and I hope he makes it a trilogy. This is an original movie and not a rehash of an old movie or remake like Hollywood can't seem to get away from nowadays. If you are a sci-fi fan or even not, I recommend giving it a shot.

Music Review: Carly Rae Jepsen-Kiss 2012

If you haven't heard of Carly Rae then you must have had your head in a hole for the last six months. She has the huge hit Call Me Maybe that has sparked a million memes and other jokes on it. She placed 3rd place on Canadian Idol. Wow Canada fans, you sure got that one wrong. She had a cd come out in 2008 and I never listened to that so not sure how it is good but with the right support aka Bieber she has blown up and is here to stay. Her new album Kiss has 12 tracks and they are found below. She then released a new single with Owl City called Good Time which is another huge track and is starting to blow up on the radio right now. Will the rest of the album live up to the two singles?? Find out below.

I have listened to this album a few times through now and I have to say it is very well done. Carly has a great voice and it is definitely worth buying if you are a fan. With blowing up so big, people often will wonder if the rest of the album will live up to the two singles and I have to say yes. Listening to it there are many tracks that I feel could be very successful singles on the radio/iheartradio etc. The last pop album that I listened to that I felt had so many hits on it was Katy Pery. Well we all know how that one turned out. It had and set a record of having 6 number 1 singles from that one album. The tracks I really love besides the singles (except Call Me Maybe because I am sick of it) are Tiny Little Bows, This Kiss, Turn Me Up, Hurt So Good and Guitar String. There are some slower/quieter songs like Beautfiul with Justin Bieber. Some of you might have heard of that kid.

All in all I rate this album 5 out of 5. It is a solid album and I think her producers and writers did an excellent job. She will live up to big stars such as Black Eyed Peas, Katy Pery, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. She made it clear, she is here to stay and not going away. I highly recommend this album if you are a fan of this type of music.

Movie Review: Dark Shadows 2012

Synopsis: An imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.

This movie is a Tim Burton film so of course it is very dark. It has Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfiefer and of course Tim's wife Helena Bonham Carter. I rather enjoyed this film. It has many dark scenes and it has some comedy thrown in. The storyline and acting is very well done. Not once was I bored and it kept me intrigued. I won't spoil it for you all but I kind of wish there was more to the ending. It ended decent, I just wanted to see a little more. It has some surprises in it too!

I rate this movie 3.5 out of 5. If you love Tim Burton and enjoy dark films then check this one out. I wouldn't say it is as awesome as Edward ScissorHands but it was still great. I love the way Tim Burton films are with the dark scenery and plus this one is about a vampire which makes it even better. Who doesn't love the supernatural?? I think it is worth a watch from you all.

Movie Review: Truth or Die (Truth or Dare, original title) 2012

Synopsis: Young British boys and girls travel to an isolated cabin after being promised a night of heavy partying. Instead of the fun they hoped for, they meet a killer out to reap vengeance on them for the death of his brother.

I don't want to spoil it for you, but, this movie kicks off at a party and... wait for it... wait for it... they play truth or dare! I would of never guessed that would happen in a million years, haha. The game goes a bit too far and results in the loss of a life. Now this is where the fun begins! The victims brother lures them out to the cabin for a birthday party, and well, lets just say, they have a killer time! Its a British film but its no Monty Python. There is some twists to this film, one particular, that I won't discuss, I found to be disturbing to say the least, you'll have to watch it yourself to see what it is. The "bad guy" of the film is convincingly good, as well as the rest of the actors in portraying their roles. For the most part the movie flows right along, but at some point it drags for a bit. In the end you get the answers to what took place at the party and why all this went down, it may surprise you, it might even disgust you! If you have some free time on your hands you might as well give this film a view.

I'm going to go ahead and give this a 3 out of 5 star rating! If it wasn't for the one particular scene in the film i might have even gave it an extra half of a star. For the most part the film is good though, it had you wondering who was responsible for the mess and there was a bit of gore to entertain those who like that kind of stuff!

Ellie Goulding Debut's New Video For 'Anything Could Happen'

I fell in love with her first single and even after hearing it probably 200 times on the radio, I find I am still not sick of it yet. Here is her second single and I think it is going to do pretty well. It is very catchy right off the bat and there is some amazing views in the video. Her new album Halycon will be coming out October 9th in the U.S. and I can't wait. Let me know what you think. Also if you didn't know she is dating Skrillex :)

Movie Review: Snow White and The Huntsmen -2012

Synopsis: In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.

Putting all jokes aside of Kristen Stewart blowing the director and try to take this movie seriously! It was tough but I put it aside LOL. This movie has Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth who is quickly making quite a name for himself. Let me make it known this is not your old fashioned Snow White fairytale, this is a very dark film. Lots of stabbing, action and trippyness. With that said it was very enjoyable and I am huge fan of the dark fairy tales like Alice in Wonderland that they redid. The storyline was very well done and the acting was top notch. Yes even expressionless Kristen Stewart did a fine job and I don't agree with her getting fired to do the sequel but what do I know.

I rate this movie 3.5 out of 5. The action, storyline and special effects were really well done. I enjoyed the movie from start to finish and I am a huge fan of the dark fairy tales. Like I said this is very dark and violent so please don't let your 8 year old watch it for heaven's sake parents! It is rated PG-13 for a reason and you only have yourself to blame when your child keeps rushing into your bed at 12am because he/she is having nightmares :) If you are a big fan of the dark movies then definitely check it out. This movie may not have made a ton of money in the movie theater but I feel it can definitely make its money back in rental because it is definitely not horrible.

American Horror Story Season 2 Trailer

I don't care if I piss off some Walking Dead fans but that show I do watch but it gets very boring at times. I found myself bored multiple times during the season. I mean God, this season they spend 3-4 episodes deciding if they were going to shoot the outsider guy they almost killed then healed. Man, make up your minds in one episode and stop dragging it out. Then they look for the missing girl for like 4 episodes and it turns out, shocker, she is a zombie and in the barn the whole time. Well, I admit it was a good twist but come on, 3-4 episodes on it?? Alas, the last two episodes picked up nicely and it ended great. I am definitely glad I stuck it out and my mom and I enjoy talking about each episode. Ok, so I digressed a little there.

American Horror Story is the best horror show on tv to date and the best one I have ever seen on regular TV. They have lots of blood and gore and scary elements. Not to mention WTF and weird scenes. I will admit that the show got really weird and very confusing but it all came together in the last couple of episodes and it actually made some sense. The show had so many twists and shocks, it is really quite hard to explain the season to anyone. That makes a great show to me. I highly recommend the show if you watch The Walking Dead. Anyways, here is a compilation of the trailers that they keep releasing everyday and I gotta say I can't wait!! Horror is not going anywhere!!

Movie Review: Starship Troopers:Invasion 2012

Synopsis: Earth Federation Force troopers led by Lieutenant Tony Daugherty (Sam Roman) are sent to Federation's outpost Fort Casey that was attacked by bugs. One of the survivors is Carl Jenkins (Justin Doran), ministry of Paranormal Warfare, who takes over the command of the Starship John A. Warden from Carmen Ibanez (Luci Christian), and leaves the bug-infested base without telling what happened. After the mission, Johnny Rico (David Matranga) - he is General Rico now - gives a new assignment to Carmen and the trooper team on the fast attack ship Alesia. John A. Warden is missing, and they have to find the starship and Carl.

I was all excited to watch this movie being a huge fan of the other Starship Trooper movies. I mean who wouldn't be a fan of shooting the green goo out of Alien creatures right?? Well, I first started watching it and didn't realize it was all CGI animation. Ok, I took a step back and looked it up online and found that it was Rated R. It was an interesting animated movie. It contained nudity, swearing and of course some course language. I have to admit being a nerd, I got a little excited over the CGI woman naked in the shower! Kidding aside, the movie wasn't that bad. The CGI was very well done and at times it often looked real. It reminded me of the Final Fantasy movie they made around 10 years ago that was all CGI.

I rate this movie 3 out of 5. At times it was a little boring but then it picked up and had some good action. The storyline was decent and the CGI looked very realistic. If you are a fan of animated movies and Starship Troopers series, I highly recommend it. If you don't like animation then steer off, however I do think it is worth a rental. I have seen much, much worse!

Movie Review: The Cabin In The Woods 2011

Synopsis: Five friends go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods, where they get more than they bargained for. Together, they must discover the truth behind the cabin in the woods.

This was not your average teens head off into the woods to smoke, drink, party, and score type of slasher flick. There was more to the movie than some hockey mask wearing, machete wielding, psychopath, don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking such films being that I own the collection on DVDs, but there was just more to it! The acting was well done, I found myself pulling for the pot head from the time he arrived on the scene to be the hero, whether or not that's how it played out you'll have to find out for yourself! I will tell you though, if there is a basement in a cabin out in the wood you should probably steer clear of it and if you run across a book written in another language you should probably not read it out loud, if you don't know what it says! For some reason I thought a bit of the element of Midnight Meat Train was present in this film, not going to go into detail but its what popped into my mind. Maybe I'm just shedding a little light on other films I've found to be entertaining, who knows, but I did find this to be quite entertaining!
There was actually a scene in this movie that may have been the bloodiest I've ever seen in a film.

I'm giving this film a 4 out of 5! It's one of those films that pulls you in. It had some interesting and creative ideas. A good story line acted out well, and another reason to keep people out of the woods.

Movie Review: Apartment 143 -2011

Synopsis: A team of parapsychologists try to figure out a strange phenomenon occurring in an apartment building.

This movie is mostly a documentary type filmed through the eyes of the cameras set up in the apartment. They use some pretty cool equipment to try to capture the ghost footage. There are no big actors/actresses in this movie but it was very enjoyable. There were many scary elements and it made the movie very intense at times. They would interview the family living in the apartment and the trouble they had dealing with the teenage daughter who was acting out. For the most part they stick to the storyline and for me it didn't get too boring which is a key factor in some of these low budget films.

In the end I rate this movie 3 out of 5. I am usually not a fan of the Blair Witch/Cloverfield type filming but it wasn't too shaky so after a few minutes I was just used to it. It got to be pretty spooky in my living room with all the sound effects. I don't believe I jumped at all but I definitely recommend this movie for a rental or Netflix watch. The acting was done well as well and it wasn't cheesy at all.

Music Review: Alanis Morissette-Havoc And Bright Lights-2012

This is Alanis's 7th cd. I know Right?? It is hard to believe that it is her seventh album but there were a few that didn't get too popular and her awesome Unplugged album. She has been busy and got divorced a few years ago and then remarried and now has her first child. It it possible for her to make a comeback?? Why yes of course it is possible.

As you can see the album has 12 tracks and starts out great with her hit single that came out a few months ago. I really love the song and she has such a unique folk type voice but unfortunately I don't think the song is very popular on the radio. Who listens to radio anyways?? Pretty much from age 39 and younger we all listen to Pandora or IheartRadio but that is another story for another time. I really enjoyed the first 4-5 songs on the album but then to me it starts to fall flat. They songs are softer and quieter and to me they don't stand out. Are they decent songs, yes but to me they aren't big hits. I judge an album by how many hits it could potentially have on it. With this album, I would say probably 4-5 possible choices, maybe 6 but obviously not many artists have that many hits. Not everyone can be Black Eyed Peas or Katy Perry. In fact many artists whom I won't name come out with 3 big songs and then put garbage on the rest of their album which I like to call fillers. They sell enough from their big singles and the people buy the album but to be honest not many people will listen to the album all the way through. Luckily thanks to Itunes and other types of online stores we can just buy the awesome singles and leave the album be so that makes the artists and record companies pay more attention. Sorry I went off on a tandem a little bit.

I rate this album 3.5 out of 5. Like I said above it has some great songs and her fans will definitely enjoy it like I did. It isn't the worst album of hers or from anybody but to me it isn't the best either. If you enjoy the single and Alanis then I recommend buying it because you will enjoy it like I have. With the right marketing and radio play she could definitely make a comeback to be more mainstream. Will she?? We will find out.

Movie Review: Elfie Hopkins - 2012

Synopsis: An aspiring teen detective stumbles into her first real case, when investigating the mysterious new family in her neighborhood.

Ok, so I watched this film last week with my buddy Cityboy. It didn't have any big name actors in it but I don't watch films based on actors. I've never even heard of it but figured i would give it a watch knowing in my heart that it had to be better than Bernie, which I suffered through earlier in the evening!! Anyway, it had this teen detective girl bugging the crap out of her neighbors, and for good reason!! It was well acted out, and had some twists to it. I seemed to have got a little bit lost in some parts but it was alright, I was entertained enough to put down my phone and pay attension to the film.. Just want to warn you there was some drug use in the film and some dismembered body parts as well! The soundtrack was not really impressive, no big name bands or anything, but it did its part to fill the voids where there was no dialog taking place. Speaking of dialog, there was very little if any profanity in this film, which is breath of fresh air with so many scripts this days being filled with the "f" word every other line! This film was listed as horror but I didn't really seem to fit the genre, I'm thinking it was more along the lines of a mystery film.

I'm going to give this film a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Like previously mentioned, the actors did a swell job in their perspective roles and the film was entertaining!

2 Chainz was at his album release party wearing 3 chainz. WTF??? TMZ has it right..stop trying to confuse us and please stick to wearing two chainz. Either way it is a pretty great album.

Movie Review: Bernie-2011

Synopsis: In small-town Texas, the local mortician strikes up a friendship with a wealthy widow, though when he kills her, he goes to great lengths to create the illusion that she's alive.

I wanted to watch this movie because I enjoy Jack Black films. It was titled Bernie and even reading the summary sounded like it was like a great older movie Weekend at Bernies where whenever music was played Bernie would come back to life. Unfortunately it wasn't like that at all. This movie was dubbed to be a comedy and I can only remember laughing maybe once. They kept interviewing people in the town who talked about Bernie the mortician and I loath documentary type movies. The only movie like that I enjoyed was District 9. The movie barely caught my interest most of the time and in fact, I played Songpop through some of it LOL. It had a few other big celebrities in it, Shirley MacLaine and Matthew McConaughey. I really have no clue why Jack Black decided to take this script, he should have just thrown it away.

I rate this movie 1 star out of 5. I would not recommend wasting your time on this one. I wouldn't even bother renting it. I only finished watching it just to make sure something exciting didn't happen at the end and intrigue me but it didn't. It just dragged on and on and I am surprised I didn't fall asleep. Ok, hopefully I saved you some valuable time by not watching this obscure movie. Til next time.

Movie Review: Jersey Shore Shark Attack-2012

Synopsis: Many years ago, hundreds of locals and tourists were massacred by giant man-eating sharks in the infamous 1916 Jersey
Shore attacks. But that's just a legend... or is it? It's a holiday weekend on the Jersey Shore and, unbeknownst to anyone, underwater drills have attracted dozens of albino bull sharks to the pier. When a man goes missing, TC (The Complication), Nookie and friends fear the worst and plead with the police chief to close down the beach. It isn't until a famous singer is eaten alive during a performance on the pier that the shark hunt begins. Now, the Preppies must work together with the Guidos in order to save the Jersey Shore and its inhabitants from another vicious slaughter.

No surprise here but it totally spoofs the characters from Jersey Shore show on MTV. Instead of the Situation it is The Complication and they are all dressed to the part. The CGI was horrible but that is no shocker there. It did have some celebrities in it including Joey Fatone from Nsync and Vinny from Jersey Shore. The acting wasn't superb but yet it was definitely watchable. If you are a fan of cheesy horror movies such as Piranha then by all means watch it. If you want to see some guidos get eaten by sharks and fake blood spraying then watch it!

I rate this movie 2 stars out of 5. It was definitely not the worst movie I have ever seen or slept through! It was watchable one time through just to see what happens and I did laugh a few times. It is not a scary movie but more a blood spraying movie. So get your spray tan on and your popcorn!
