Shear, floral and lace. Visions in pastel green and orange and egg shell white graced the runway at Elie Saab's couture show for their spring 2012 collection. Their models' gaunt appearance under the see-through garments was slightly off-putting but set the stage for the airy and feminine atmosphere they were after. Over all, excellent collection, albeit one note as far as diversity in color, but excellent construction, fit and design.

Maxime Simoens Couture

Pleating and leather combine in a sultry and classic look in Maxime Simoen's spring 2012 collection. The rest of the collection left much to be desired unfortunately. Their theme of "cut-and-paste", playing with shapes, sharp lines and cuts didn't work out as seamlessly as was pulled off in their red and black ensemble.

Armani Privé Couture, drab

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Horrendous, horrendous, horrendous. The Armani Privé Spring 2012 Couture collection was abusive to the clothing labels legacy and reputation. A sea foam green washed over the unsuspecting audience who witnessed unflattering business suit after business suit make their way down the runway. Not even fish net tops could liven up this hoary collection, clearly meant for a stylish woman of 81 years. Not even the eternalness of the color green could save this collection from looking like something left over from the '90's. Its only saving grace was this beautiful silver number which, despite its bolero jacket, added taste, class and a tad more youth to the entire collection. *In heaven.* Giambattista Valli delivered in the spring 2012 fabulous couture show. Playing with texture and movement, Giambattista gave us something to goggle and envy at. From short and shear numbers to the more demure pieces. Showcasing a mostly black and white collection with splashes of red and pink hues, this collection is certainly for sophisticated nightlifers.

Ruffles, lace and bows where a huge focus of almost all the couture collections this weekend, including Christian Dior.

Slaying 'em!

Slaying 'em this week is Project Runway All Stars contestant Michael Costello's model. She owned the stage in what can only be seen as a tour de force of fashion proportions. I for one don't feel that Michael has what it takes to win this season. His fashion sense seems to blow both hot and cold as his masterful creations are few and far between. When he hits the mark though, it's glorious! He is certainly the kind of designer who should work under a fashion house and not on his own as he needs guidance to keep focused. His creations seem to always be on trend, and not progressive into next season.

He served us doubters up some serious humble pie with last week's exhibition for the opera. Drink it in and enjoy this vision in tribal couture.
Draped and structured. Flowing and rigid. Sexy and tasteful.

Fashion Equipped

I have always been a fan of military inspired outfits. My obsession with M.J. from the age of 5, I think influenced my sense of style tremendously. I really value a fierce looking woman with a tough exterior and a feminine silhouette. Actress Elizabeth Banks strutted in a Versace, embellished dress to a showing of "Man on a Ledge" at the Tribeca Grand Hotel a couple of days ago in New York City. Kat Graham brought up the level wearing a similar showstopper to the premiere of Underworld: Awakening in Los Angeles the same day. The contrast of their silky skin and their hard amour really gives them an air of being untouchable, while being everything you really what. Had Liz swept her hair back and tossed those leggings in a furnace where they belong she might have been some competition for Kat, whose purse may need to be incinerated as well.

White hair is making a comeback.

Kelly Osbourne's new look has been received with both a salty and a sugary sweet response.

She's showing a mixture of purple, blonde, and grey in this shot of her at the 2012 Golden Globes. All of which don't even match her dress, but that's neither here nor there.
I think this look worked, especially with her choice of a neutral makeup and subtle yet stunning diamond earrings.

Proving that makeup makes all the difference, here is Kelly in a more recent photo from January the 14th at the 2012 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala.

Disheveled as opposed to swept up and elegant. Trashy lipstick as opposed to a sandy, delicate peach.
Wanna bet she dressed herself for one event and not the other? Guess which one I'm thinking of. Either way, I think this can be an upcoming trend of the glam-punk scene, along with Lady Gaga's obsession with mint hair.

Andrej Pejic F.M. GLAM

Want to be an optic icon? Step outside of the box with your look once in a while.

We're not talking the occasional change of hair color.

Changing a base feature can definitely change up your look, especially for night-time looks.

Andrej Pejic's new shoot with FashionMagazine.com is a great example.

This glam-punk look definitely brings something extra to the ring with changing an often overlooked feature of the face! Her eyebrows here set the scene for a wild and glamorous night ahead.

The hair works, the lipstick choice is mint. The only question is that ring, but ads a contrasting pop of color. The nails are totally banging as well. I'm doing to be rocking those next week.
