Hello! Here’s a new comic that maybe puts this familiar scenario in a new perspective.

Oh, and the new computer fan is installed and working properly, even though it was CLEARLY not identical to the previous one. I suspect I was sent the wrong model, but after some modifications I managed to MacGyver it into my laptop anyway. Felt equally proud/annoyed afterwards.

Also! I got the new CPU fan today (which was funded in entirety by the awesome people who donated)! So now I’ll just schedule this comic for posting, proceed to crack this baby open and just duct tape the new fan over the old one. Should work, and hopefully this should also be the end of my computer woes for now. Wish me luck!

Yikes! A gory comic strip arrives despite the ongoing computer troubles. Since last time I’ve even had to adopt the good old vacuum cleaner trick to cool down my CPU.

This thing above will also be the huge twist ending to The Walking Dead. Oops, spoilers!

Oh, and yes! – this comic arrives even though my computer is just barely alive. Until the replacement CPU fan arrives all the way from China, I’ll try to get comics done as regularly as possible, but unfortunately I can’t promise anything. Your best bet is to follow me on Twitter or Facebook, where I will announce any delays and/or vent my frustration about my failing hardware.

Speaking of technophilia, even though PC troubles always are rather infuriating, part of me gets really giddy with the prospect of buying a new one. I’ve had this current HP laptop for 2,5 years now, and while I’d like for it to last me a little while longer, I’ve recognized that it doesn’t really fit my needs anymore. So this time around I’m leaning towards getting an iMac, which would be my very first Mac. I would have to wait until the new ones are unveiled though, rumored to be within the next month or two. Exciting!

This is also why I had to close my daycare center. I kept losing too many clients. :(

April 20th comic update: Sigh! No comic today as my drawing session was cut short due to massive overheating issues with my computer. The CPU heat sink is apparently on the fritz. A replacement has been ordered. With some luck I can keep it stable enough over the weekend to get a Monday comic produced. Fingers crossed!

Now of course, I’m definitely (luckily) not as poor as in the drawing, but then again like most webcartoonists I do have a day job – and without it I would probably have to draw these strips on napkins and barely be able to upload them to the internet through free coffee shop Wi-Fi. Anyway, to make sure that never happens you can donate any amount you’d like, probably even $0.01 if you’re so inclined! I don’t think there’s an upper limit for donating, but feel free to test that out as well! You know, for science.
