I am exhibiting my paintings.

Since moving to Canada in 2010, I have painted on diverse topics which I will be displaying at the Art Gallery in Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. This is my first solo show in Canada. The show runs from May 27th, 3 pm to June 3rd, 10 am. An opening reception is planned for May 31st, from 7 pm to 9 pm and I would love to see you there. This international travelling exhibition features the work of seven Asian and seven North American contemporary artists from Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and the United States.

This international travelling exhibition features the work of seven Asian and seven North American contemporary artists from Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and the United States. The exhibition comes out of a series of workshops in June 2008, when the artists gathered in Indonesia to participate in an experiment in cross-cultural engagement.

CALL FOR ARTISTS - SEYMOUR ART FESTIVAL 2013

Description:
The Seymour Art Gallery seeks a variety of visual and performance artists to participate in our biennial SEYMOUR ART FESTIVAL 2013. The Festival will consist of four one-week exhibitions, with associated performances at each Tuesday opening night and as stand-alone events on each Sunday afternoon. The
Festival exhibitions will be presented in the gallery’s exhibition space, and the performance events may be in the gallery, lobby, or other areas of the Deep Cove Cultural Centre, or possibly in the adjacent park or amphitheatre. The Festival exhibitions will be accommodated in the gallery, lobby, and other areas of the Deep Cove Cultural Centre and possibly in the adjacent park or amphitheatre. The events will be widely advertised and all events will be open to the public with no charge for admission. The Festival themes will each run for one week and are as follows:

LOOK, LISTEN, TASTE, TOUCH

Week 1 Install: June 3 Opening: June 4 Last day: June 9
Week 2 Install: June 10 Opening: June 11 Last day: June 16
Week 3 Install: June 17 Opening: June 18 Last day: June 23
Week 4 Install: June 24 Opening: June 25 Last day: July 1

Festival Artist Participation:
• Groups of 4-8 visual artists in a mixture of 2-D and 3-D media, (e.g. 3-5 painters & photographers,
and 2-3 sculptors & artisans per exhibition)
• Each artist group to propose complementary music, dance, literary, or other performers
(If your artist group is not able to include a performer, we still encourage you to submit your proposal. The Seymour Art Gallery may be able to engage a performer to work with your group.)
• Artists cannot have appeared in the previous (2011) Seymour Art Festival.
• Artist groups to be formed prior to submission and to include well developed proposal for associated performance and demonstration or workshop events, with other material on the proposed music, dance and other performers to meet the Gallery’s budget allocations (which are subject to confirmation after adjudication of grant applications)
• Selected artists must attend their opening reception, and must become members of the Seymour Art Gallery
• Artists must be prepared to assist with take down of their work

Seymour Art Gallery will provide:
• Curator and volunteer installation crew to install each exhibition
• Publicity, press releases, advertising, invitations, and posters
• Basic refreshments at the receptions
• Volunteers to arrange the audience seating and provide other support for performance events
• Fees for participating visual artists and honorarium for performance artists (to cover 2 performances -- at the opening reception and Sunday afternoon event)

How to Apply:
• Mail or hand-deliver proposals including preferred theme and week of the Festival, visual and
performing artists’ names and CVs, and contact information. No email submissions please.
• Include CD or DVD with jpeg images of visual art (3 jpg images per artist @ 800x600 pixels), CD of
music or spoken word sample, video clip or stills of performance artists. Do not send original artwork or photographs. Please check your CD or DVD runs on Windows before mailing. Please include a SASE for the return of your submission.
• Include jury fee of $25 per group.

Proposals must be received by December 10, 2012. Notification: December 17, 2012

Circle Craft Co-operative is pleased to present “Beloved,” ceramics by Jacqueline Robins, in their gallery located in the Net Loft on Granville Island, June 8 – July 3, 2012.

Jacqueline Robins lives in East Vancouver. Her work is narrative and combines the many skills she has honed over the last 15 years of working with clay and imagery. Robins’ formal education in drawing, printmaking, and ceramics was at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, followed by an apprenticeship on Salt Spring Island, BC. Robins has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions and is in private collections in Europe, North America, and Japan. Robins is compelled and inspired by the notion of heirloom. The cycles of life are a re-occurring theme in her work, which focuses on pieces that celebrate and record significant moments in life. Utilizing a variety of printmaking techniques, she is able to illustrate and imprint the clay. The 22nd Harmony Arts Festival invites visual artists to submit high quality original artworks for adjudication for a group exhibition during the 10-day festival.

2012 Harmony Arts Festival will run from August 3 - 12, 2012. The waterfront festival site is a scenic 10-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The annual festival turns the stunning Ambleside waterfront into an open-air celebration venue of the arts. Visitors enjoy street performances, art exhibitions, artist talks and demonstrations, theatre, concerts, the art market, family-oriented activities and unique culinary experiences.

Complete application must be received by no later than Tuesday, June 19. 2012. No late entries will be accepted.

The 2011 festival attracted more than 100,000 visitors, adding to an established reputation as an iconic Lower Mainland summer attraction. The Pacific Arbour Group Show last year sold over $14,000 worth of artworks.

JURY DATE AND LOCATION

All work submitted for adjudication must be picked up between 4 to 5 pm. Harmony Arts Festival staff, jurors or District Staff are not responsible for unclaimed work.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
• Only works selected by the jury will be exhibited. No substitutions are permitted
• All submitted works must be clearly labeled with artist name, title, medium and price
• All submitted works must be exhibition ready and wired for hanging
• Festival staff will determine the installation locations of all selected works
• Festival staff will install and take down the artworks
• Festival staff will handle purchase inquires and transactions
• Sales proceeds will be divided 70% to the artist and 30% to the Harmony Arts Festival
• Each artist is responsible for insuring his/her own artworks over the entire exhibition period including installation and takedown. The Harmony Arts Festival is not responsible for any accidental damage to the artworks
• Selected artists are responsible to drop off their artworks at the assigned exhibition venue as notified up to one week prior to the exhibition
• Selected artists are responsible to pick up any unsold works at the assigned exhibition venue on Sunday, August 12 or Monday, August 13. Final pick up instruction will be provided in July.

PUBLICITY AND MEDIA
Year after year, the Festival has enjoyed extensive media coverage including the Globe and Mail, the Province, Vancouver Sun, tourism websites, numerous community newspapers and television channels. August is West Vancouver’s prime tourist season and the 2012 Festival marketing plan calls for an increased promotional campaign through print and social media channels to market the Festival as the North Shore premium summer destination. All Group Show exhibiting artworks will be marketed online through the festival website prior to the exhibition opening.

APPLICATION PROCESS AND CHECKLIST
OPTION 1: (Paperless) Complete your application online at the Festival Visual Arts Application Site: https://harmonyarts.slideroom.com. The online application is a guided step-by-step process that is easy to use. Applicants can submit a maximum of three pieces.

STEP 1 Signup to create your application account.
Activate your new account from your email account.
STEP 2 Pay the non-refundable jury fee $20 + 12% taxes = $22.40 per submitted piece by credit card by calling 604-925-7270 District of West Vancouver Registration during office hours (8am – 7pm, 7 days). Register for #825368 (Group Show Jury Fee). Request for the receipt as you will need to enter the receipt no. during this online application. If you submit three pieces for jury selection, the total jury fee is $67.20.
STEP 3 Have the following information on-hand:
1. Artist biography and artistic statement
2. Proof of payment – your credit card payment receipt number
3. Details of each submitted piece including title, medium, dimensions and price
STEP 4 Login at the Festival Visual Arts Application Site: https://harmonyarts.slideroom.com/

STEP 5 Complete all requested information on the application form
STEP 6 Click submit if you are done or if you need to edit any part of your application, you can save it as a pending application.
Once you have submitted your application, you can still view your application but will no longer be able to make changes. JURY PROCESS
All applications will be juried on the actual artworks and submitted information. Recognized artists and art professionals from local community will review submitted images anonymously. Selection criteria will be based on scoring on originality, design and techniques.
