Oracle Creative was commissioned by Fruition Properties to create the complete brand identity and marketing collateral for Old Dairy House, a boutique collection of 16 apartments in Kensal Rise, W10.

Brief
Fruition Properties needed a brand identity and marketing materials for their development at 133 Kilburn Lane, a site with rich heritage as the former location of Higgins Bros Dairy and later a recording studio used by Adele. The challenge was to create marketing that would appeal to the creative, aspirational buyers drawn to Kensal Rise’s vibrant independent scene whilst reflecting the contemporary design by POW Architects and the intimate scale of just 16 apartments.

Creative Approach
We developed a refined, contemporary brand identity that honoured the building’s dairy heritage whilst positioning Old Dairy House as a modern boutique development in one of West London’s most creative neighbourhoods. The visual language needed to resonate with buyers seeking character and individuality in an area known for independent stores, artisan cafes and galleries rather than corporate development marketing.

The design approach balanced sophistication with warmth, creating materials that felt personal and curated rather than corporate, reflecting both the boutique scale of the development and the distinctive character of Kensal Rise as “the hippest street in Europe” (Vogue).

Following the successful rebrand of Newlon Living, Oracle Creative was commissioned to redevelop their website, transforming it into a high-performing, SEO-optimised platform that consolidates multiple microsites whilst significantly improving the user experience for first-time buyers seeking shared ownership homes across north and east London.

Brief
The existing Newlon Living digital presence was fragmented across multiple microsites, creating inefficiencies in both development costs and user experience. The organisation needed a centralised platform that could showcase their portfolio of new build developments, resales, and private sales properties whilst performing strongly in organic search results. The challenge was to create a fast, intuitive website that would compete effectively against private developers in London’s competitive property market.

Creative Approach
We began with detailed wireframe schematics to map user journeys and define functionality before committing to visual design. This planning phase ensured all partners aligned on features and scope before development commenced. The visual design balanced contemporary residential property aesthetics with practical functionality, creating an engaging platform that helps first-time buyers navigate the shared ownership process.

Working in tandem with The Media People’s SEO team in Manchester, we built the site architecture and content strategy around organic search performance from the ground up. Every development needed its own optimised presence, whilst location-specific landing pages would capture search traffic for buyers exploring specific areas across north and east London.

Oracle Creative was commissioned by Newlon Housing Trust to create a distinct brand identity for Newlon Living, their specialist shared ownership division established in 2017 to serve first-time buyers across north and east London.

Brief
Newlon Living needed to position itself as a contemporary residential sales brand whilst maintaining a clear connection to its parent organisation, Newlon Housing Trust, a charitable housing association founded in 1968. The challenge was to bridge two worlds: retaining the credibility and trust of an established housing association whilst appealing to aspirational first-time buyers with expectations more aligned to private developers than social housing providers.

Creative Approach
We refined the established Newlon Group identity, retaining the distinctive orange apex that connects all entities within the organisation whilst replacing the corporate blue with a sophisticated grey. This subtle but significant shift created a more contemporary, premium feel appropriate for the residential sales environment.

The grey and orange palette positions Newlon Living as professional and modern, differentiating it from traditional housing association communications whilst the retained apex ensures immediate recognition as part of the trusted Newlon family. The result is a brand that feels like a private developer but carries the reassurance of a 50-year charitable housing legacy.

Brief
Tottenham Hale was undergoing significant change. With Newlon Living’s offices just two minutes away, the development needed a brand that could position 117 shared ownership and 11 private sale apartments as part of this emerging neighbourhood whilst appealing to first-time buyers seeking quality homes within easy reach of Central London. The challenge was to create an identity that felt contemporary and aspirational whilst reflecting the area’s growing community spirit.

Creative Approach
The hexagonal pattern at the heart of the brand identity drew initial inspiration from tiles selected for the entrance hall, but evolved into something more meaningful. We developed the hexagon as a symbol of community building, much like Manchester’s bee represents industry and collective endeavour. The geometric motif reflected both the tower’s modern architecture and the collaborative energy of a neighbourhood taking shape.

Working with a sophisticated palette of bronze and navy, we created a visual system that elevated the development beyond typical shared ownership marketing, positioning Millstream Tower as a contemporary lifestyle choice in one of London’s most connected regeneration zones.

There’s a running joke in the industry: agencies are terrible at building their own websites. Some outsource it entirely. Others let their site languish for years whilst they pour everything into client work… we were guilty ourselves. It’s not laziness, it’s psychology. When it’s your own brand, every decision feels loaded. Every word gets rewritten five times. Every layout gets over analysed.

We decided to stop overthinking it and just build the site we’d recommend to a client. Mobile first, Fast, Clear and Optimised for conversion. Built on WordPress because that’s what works.

We rebranded last year. New typeface, refreshed colour palette, sharper positioning. But this wasn’t about reinvention. We’re still recognisably Oracle Creative.

The logo evolved rather than a complete transformation. It’s more energetic now, built for animation, but it keeps the rounded, approachable feel that’s always defined us. The O is split, creating a sharp edge that hints at precision and cutting-edge thinking. Those two parts also form an O and a C coming together, which captures what we actually do: Oracle, the insight and strategic thinking, meeting Creative, the ideas and execution. An oracle, in the original sense, was a source of wisdom and guidance. We like that, as did our founders in 1970. It’s about experience informing decisions, not guesswork dressed up as strategy.

The colour palette shifted from muted blue and grey to something bolder. Stronger blue, darker grey, and a new pale pink as an accent. Every brand needs a highlight colour for hover states, call-to-action buttons, and moments that need emphasis. Pink does that job with subtelty.

We made a deliberate choice to use an all-over blue background. Research into other design agency websites showed a lot of white space and minimal layouts. We wanted something different. Retro in spirit, contemporary in execution, memorable. The rounded lozenges for the menu bar and footer reference mid-century design whilst feeling unmistakably modern. There’s a bit of Apple in the rounded buttons and navigation, because that level of polish just works and fits in nicely with the operating system a lot of us designer types use.

Every image has rounded corners. Every icon is circular. It softens the overall look and creates visual consistency across the site. We only use a hamburger menu on mobile. Desktop users get a full, always-visible navigation, which is always sticky, so users can always just to the next page.

WordPress: Why We Choose It Every Time

We build every website on WordPress. Not because approximately 44% of websites currently online are built on WordPress, but because it’s the smartest and most economical choice for most businesses.

WordPress gives us complete creative control whilst keeping the backend simple enough that clients can update content themselves. The myth that WordPress is slow or insecure comes from poorly built sites with too many plugins doing jobs they shouldn’t. We build it properly so you get speed, security, and control.

Making Search Engines Work

SEO isn’t magic. It’s structure, speed, and clarity. We optimised every page for fast loading, clean markup, and mobile responsiveness. Proper alt text on images. Logical heading structure. Meta descriptions that actually describe the content.

But the real shift is happening with AI-powered search. Google isn’t just crawling keywords anymore, it’s understanding context and intent. That means content needs to be genuinely useful, not just optimised for algorithms. We wrote every page to answer the questions potential clients actually ask. What do you do? Who have you worked with? How do you approach projects?

Portfolio: Making the Work Easy to Find

We organised everything by service area with clear case studies that explain the brief, the thinking, and the outcome. No mystery thumbnails. No hunting through endless grids.

Each project lives on its own page with proper context, so whether you’re interested in branding, brochures, web design, advertising or outdoor campaigns, you can find relevant examples without scrolling through everything we’ve ever made.

Designing for Conversion, Not Just Aesthetics

A beautiful site that doesn’t convert is a failed site. Every layout decision on the new Oracle Creative site was driven by user experience and conversion optimisation.

Mobile first

Designing for smaller screens forces you to prioritise. What’s actually essential? What needs to be front and centre? That discipline carries through to desktop and makes everything sharper.

Clear navigation

People don’t want to hunt for information. Services, portfolio, contact. Everything is where you’d expect it to be.

Fast load times and accessibility

Nobody waits for slow sites anymore. Optimised images, minimal scripts, clean code. The site loads in under two seconds in a Pingdom speed test, rated B with 83%. We’re working on a grade A. We’ve also built accessibility into the foundations using Elementor’s Ally plugin, ensuring the site works properly for people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and assistive technologies. Accessible design isn’t a nice-to-have anymore, it’s essential, and it makes the experience better for everyone.

Ready to rebuild your website?

We’ve been through the process hundreds of times, so we know exactly what works and what doesn’t. If your site is slow, difficult to navigate, or just not converting the way it should, let’s talk about how we can fix it.

The 2026 Winter Olympics have just wrapped in Italy, and whilst the Games themselves delivered spectacular moments against the stunning backdrop of the Dolomites, the official logo prompts questions about creative ambition in major event branding.

The “Futura” emblem is a single-stroke trace of the number “26” rendered in ice white. The organisers positioned it as representing “small gestures having grand impacts,” drawing on the metaphor of a finger traced through misty glass. It’s minimalist, accessible, and deliberately understated.

For a Games celebrating Italian design heritage, hosted in Milan (one of the world’s design capitals) and set against the dramatic Alpine landscape of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the question becomes: was understatement the right choice?

Henri Matisse famously observed that “creativity takes courage.” At Oracle Creative, we return to this quote often. The Milano Cortina 2026 logo suggests that perhaps courage may not have been the priority.

The Democratic Design Dilemma

Milano Cortina 2026 made history as the first Olympics to let the public vote on the logo. Design agency Landor developed approximately 30 initial concepts. From these, the committee narrowed the field to just two options: Logo Futura and Logo Dado.

Logo Dado featured a gaming joystick shape designed as a snowflake, with the numbers 2 and 6 in green and red creating a three-dimensional effect. Futura won decisively with 75% of 871,000 votes from 169 countries.

Incidentally, when looking at just these two options, we at Oracle Creative agree with the public’s choice. Futura is undoubtedly the more refined of the pair. But this raises an uncomfortable question: was this a strategic pairing designed to guarantee a particular outcome whilst maintaining the appearance of democratic choice? When the choice is between “safe and refined” versus “potentially controversial,” the public will pick refined every time. That doesn’t mean refined was the right answer to the original brief.

The public had no access to the other 28 concepts Landor developed, and no opportunity to champion genuinely adventurous possibilities.

Off-Piste Alternatives

What’s particularly revealing is seeing what the same brief inspired outside the official process. Minneapolis-based designer Allan Peters created an alternative that incorporated snowflake geometry whilst drawing on Italian design heritage: unmistakably Italian, unmistakably winter, and unmistakably bold. After gaining traction some momentum, the posts were removed, raising questions about whether the organising committee took issue with alternative visions.

Designer Emily Hudson’s concept on Behance drew direct inspiration from the intricate rose window of the Duomo di Milano whilst incorporating snowflake geometry and Cortina’s alpine colours.

These alternatives asked a different question: rather than whispering about small gestures, could the logo have shouted about Italian creativity, Alpine drama, and the spectacle of elite sport?

The London 2012 Lesson

The comparison with London 2012 is instructive. Wolff Olins’ jagged logo was met with fury when it launched in 2007. Over 48,000 people signed a petition demanding it be scrapped. Iran lodged a formal complaint claiming it spelled “Zion.” Critics called it everything from “fundamentally patronising” to various unfortunate resemblances we won’t repeat here.

But here’s what’s fascinating: people remember it. Love it or loathe it, the London 2012 identity sparked genuine debate about design and what an Olympic logo should represent. It was divisive, bold, and unapologetically different.

Fifteen years later, that controversy has aged into vindication. According to recent surveys, 81% of people believe it was right to invest in the Olympics whilst 79% are proud of its legacy. As Wolff Olins’ CEO Sairah Ashman reflected: “We’re not proud of the controversy, but in retrospect, it’s great that it got so much attention in a way that these things never normally do.”

Milano Cortina 2026 chose the opposite path. Where London provoked, Milano soothed. Where London took risks, Milano offered reassurance.

What We Remember

TThe most enduring Olympic identities take clear creative positions. Mexico 1968’s psychedelic Op Art patterns referenced Mexican folk art whilst feeling utterly of its moment. Munich 1972’s Bauhaus geometry spoke to German design rigour. Calgary 1988’s snowflake-maple leaf was simple but clever. Even London 2012’s angular chaos, initially derided, is now remembered.

These identities worked not because they pleased everyone immediately, but because they took a position. They challenged. They surprised.

Milano Cortina 2026’s Futura is a gesture rather than a statement, a whisper rather than a declaration. For some, that restraint may feel appropriate. For others, it represents a missed opportunity for a Games celebrating Italian creativity in one of the world’s design capitals.

Above: Some classic examples with groundbreaking appeal.

The Bigger Question

The irony is the Olympics celebrate the pursuit of excellence, the willingness to push boundaries, the courage to attempt what seems impossible. These are athletes who’ve dedicated their lives to being exceptional rather than acceptable. The opportunity is there just waiting to celebrate culture and sport in the grandest of occasions, in front of the watching world.

We’ll never know what might have been if the organising committee had looked at Allan Peters’ snowflake concept, Emily Hudson’s cathedral-inspired fusion, or any of the other 28 concepts that Landor developed but deemed too risky to put before the public.

The question Milano Cortina 2026 leaves us with isn’t whether Futura is a “bad” logo. It’s whether events of this magnitude deserve creative work that’s as ambitious as the athletes competing in them, or whether avoiding controversy has become the safest choice of all.

Sometimes the most revealing thing about a design process isn’t the result, but the limits placed on what was possible from the start.
