When this happens it’s necessary to remove the old tinting from the window in order to put a new protective film on. Step one in the removal process is to find in the area of the film that’s currently peeling off the window and using a razor blade remove the corner of the film in hopes to get underneath it and peel it off. Sometimes the film will remove itself in one large sheet and peel right off the window and then other times it’ll take a razor blade and up to 2 or 3 hours to remove the tinting from one window. After you’ve been able to remove all the actual tinting it itself typically the gluey residue from the adhesive will be left behind on the surface of the glass. Using special adhesive remover and 0000 Steel Wool you can then break down the adhesive by scrubbing the glass in a circular motion. Be very careful not to get any if the remover on any of the painted and finishes near the edges as sometimes it could have an adverse reaction to the paint causing it to come off the frame as well. When all the glue adhesive has been removed wash the window using water with a small amount of dish soap and a squeegee to clean the window.

Cleaning chandeliers is one of the most difficult things to do. Companies not familiar with the process often create safety concerns by trying to access them and once they get there end up breaking them.

Many large crystal chandeliers have small wires holding the crystals in place and these wires can become fragile overtime. These wires are also made of a very fragil soft wire allowing it to be bent to fit through the hole on the Crystal and to wrap around the bracket it is connected to,

Step 1; Protect the chandelier by setting up several large fluffy blankets or other foam pads underneath the chandelier in the area to be cleaned. This way in case one of the wires breaks or comes loose it will land on the soft blankets of foam and not on the stone floor or glass tabletop.

Step 2; Next we position the ladder in place making sure that we have access to the light fixture or chandelier and we can reach it safely without being too high on the ladder or leveraged too far out over the side of the ladder.

Depending on the type of chandelier it is or light fixture sometimes we hold the crystal in one hand and use compressed air to blow all the dust off of the Crystal while holding the Crystal.

Step 3; After majority of the dust has been removed using the compressed air we typically use a very soft microfiber cloth with Windex to gently massage the Crystal removing any final desk that might be on it. Because we use the compressed air first were able to get all the dust off any intricate or delicate areas of the chandelier that the towell might not be able to get into.

Step 4; While we’re up there we also swap out any necessary light bulbs if they are burnt out.

As you can see in the photos below the chandelier we cleaned was very difficult to reach into and we had to build a plank to walk on over the glass table top that weighted over 1,000 pounds and could not be moved. Jobs like this require extensive training. For a free quote on cleaning anything please call 949-829-8790.

The best way to clean the slate or Spanish style roof Pressure washing allows you to take all the dirt, Moss and algae that can build up on these roofs and completely clean it off making them look brand-new again. These before-and-after pictures of the same roof in big Canyon show the incredible difference you can make washing the roof. If you have read the blog we wrote called Walking On Slate Or Spanish Style Roofs it describes techniques for walking on roofs without breaking roof tiles

How to walk on Spanish Tile or Slate Roofs without breaking them has been a difficult thing to do and created issues for window cleaners and other trades who walk on roofs for decades.

Some people say that the best way to walk on a roof is to walk on the ridge of the tiles, and some people say it is to walk in the valley of the tiles. However neither of these is effective in dispersing the weight so the tiles don’t break.

In the 27 years we’ve been cleaning windows as of the time of writing this blog we have only found one effective method for walking on roofs. We take two sheets of plywood with 3 or 4 inch thick upholstery foam mounted to it. Using two different sheets of plywood at a time and putting them on the roof, you can alternate walking on them as you walk across the roof. As you stand on one you move the other one in front of you and put one foot on each. Then then you pick up the one behind you moving it in front of you stepping on it. This allows you to slowly walk across the roof at all times dispersing your weight over the roof tiles. By stepping on the plywood which is mounted to the foam it wraps itself around all the different surfaces on the roof tile causing the weight to be completely evened out with no pressure points. Additional safety precautions need to be kept in mind when walking on any type of roof.

The Pine needles build up on the roof clogging the rain gutters of the home. This could eventually build up and cause the gutters to fail and fall off the edge of the house from the excessive weight from water being trapped in them and/or cause the water spill out over the sides landing in planners and damaging plants.

Fire damage is one of the most difficult things to clean up after. Not only is everything covered in soot and ash but usually the homeowner is not in the frame of mind to deal with having to clean what is left after a fire. The best way to tackle things is to break it down into different scopes.

Step 1; Have the restoration contractor communicate with the adjuster to ensure any and all documentation required by the insurance company is performed. Document any and all losses on the property so the insured is completely compensated by the insurance carrier.

Step 2; It is very important to start by cleaning the exterior so when you are ready to clean the interior you will not track the ash in again. Remove any large items of debris from the outside of the property and throw in the trash and then wash down the roof using a pressure washer to clean off all the soot. During a fire storms that we have here in Southern California when the Santa Ana winds blow, large amounts of burning debris can land on the roof causing areas of the roof to burn. These areas need to be identified for insurance purposes. It is also necessary to clean out all the rain gutters before the rain starts clogging them up. After the roof is washed then wash down the exterior of the home followed by washing all the windows.

Step 3; All wet items need to be labeled, boxed and removed from the home and taken to our facility as fast as possible to ensure we can save and restore them before the damage becomes too severe to reverse.

Step 4; All clothing, draperies, and bedding needs to be removed and professionally Dry Cleaned or laundered as necessary per the specifications of the fabric.

Step 5; After the exterior is clean start by using a Heppa Vacuum to clean every inch of the interior of the home. Using the vacuum with a soft bristle brush attached to it will allow you to clean everything removing most of the soot. After you have removed a majority of the ash it will be necessary to wipe down all hard surfaces such as walls, tables, wood and other surfaces with a micro fiber towel. It might be necessary to use a warm solution of TSP and water mixed together with the Micro Fiber towel to get some difficult marks off.

Step 6; An Ozone Generator needs to be used to neutralize and remove any odors in the home. Ozone Generators will kill, pets, people, plants or fish so do not use unless you are a qualified professional. It will also turn water into Hydrogen Peroxide and bleach the color out of all fabrics that are wet which is why it should be done prior to carpet or upholstery cleaning.

Step 7; Upholstery, Mattresses, and Carpets should be vacuumed and then color tested by a professional to ensure the colors won’t run, if they are safe to clean with a truck mount extraction machine then do so. If not it will be necessary to clean the fabrics using dry cleaning methods.

Step 8; All Air Ducts need to be cleaned using a rotary brush vacuum unit to remove any ash and or soot that may have been sucked into them. The heater unit also needs to be cleaned out and the filters changed.

Step 9; The attic needs to be inspected to see if any of the insulation was burnt during the fire or if any of it is wet do to efforts to put the fire out. If so, or if there is any ash or soot in the attic the insulation needs to be removed, the attic area cleaned and sanitized and new insulation installed.

One of the most important parts of the entire process is making sure that the company you hire is qualified to do every one of the scopes of work themselves without having to hire Sub Contractors or pick up day laborers off the street corner. Some of the companies that do this type of restoration resort to these types of methods to get help when they are hit with large quantities of work all at once.
Not cleaning your dryer vent not only makes it take more time for your clothes to dry but it also adds to the possibility of real danger. One of the biggest threats of an un-cleaned dryer vent is a house fire. Un-cleaned dryer vents cause on average 15,500 fires, 10 deaths and at least 10 injuries every year. Now remember your dryer vent is NOT the lint screen that catches the lint, the vent is what releases the heat from your dryer and when all the particles of hair and foreign materials get stuck on the vent there it creates insufficient air flow and causes the dryer to overheat. You should clean your vents once a year professionally.

This Home we cleaned in Newport Coast has not had their dryer vents cleaned in 2 years. We offered the customer a free inspection of the vent to see if it needed attention and this is what we found. Without cleaning this home could have easily become one of the statistics stated above.

The two biggest drawbacks to refinishing hardwood floors have always been the amount of dust from and sanding and chemical fumes from sealing. Now at Pacific Cleaning Services Inc. you no longer have to worry about either of these, or how long you business or home will be off limits during the process. We can restore your floors to their original beauty at your convenience with no dust, odor, or disruptions so you can get back to what is important.

Regular mopping just doesn’t reach the stubborn dirt that lies deep in the pores and sometimes even the products you are using are causing that floor to attract even more soil to you hardwood, but our process here at Pacific Cleaning Services Inc. uses a high-speed rotary brush and proprietary cleaning solution to break up tough dirt and contaminates. As we clean the floor, squeegees trap dirt taking up that top layer of soil that lays at the surface of the floor, and a powerful vacuum extracts soil and excess cleaning solution. With proper floor maintenance and professional hardwood floor cleaning you can ensure your hardwood always looks new and lasts longer.

Clean and protect your floor with Pacific Cleaning Services Inc. Poly Coat. Our durable, quick-dry Poly Coat will provide a protective layer to your floors. After our deep cleaning process, we will coat your floor with an even layer of our Poly Coat solution, creating a barrier against water, spills, drinks and chemical damage. In addition to helping your hardwood resist scratching and scuffing, you can have a high gloss and shine or satin finish. It will leave your floor protected and looking good long throughout the years.

We humans need to apply lotion to soften our skin to keep it healthy and looking good. Leather needs regular care also to retain its moisture and softness. Most store-bought leather cleaners and conditioners provide immediate relief but end up causing long-term damage. Professional products applied by Pacific Cleaning Services Inc technicians will keep your leather looking and feeling great for a long time. The difference between our products vs Household cleaners is their product contains silicones and lubricants that provide an outer layer of protection but end up dehydrating and damaging your leather. Our professional leather cleaners, moisturizers, and protectant provide long-lasting rejuvenation without the harmful side effects. Leather should be cleaned every 6-12 months. As recommended by the manufacturers Pacific Cleaning Services can clean all types of leather, including pigmented, aniline, nubuck, and suede. We can also clean leather in autos, boats, and RVs. The process that Pacific Cleaning uses is a proprietary system to clean and moisturize your leather and we can also provide protectant for your leather. We will begin by applying and removing a cleaner that removes damaging soils. Next, the leather is heated to open pores as they can accept the moisturizer that leaves your leather feeling as soft as the day it was made. If you choose, we will then re-heat the leather and apply a protector that will actually fill in the cracks where soils typically settle, preventing future damage. All of these steps are completed by Pacific Cleaning leather care specialists. We can offer you a free demo that will help you understand the potential outcome of the cleaning, all at no cost to you. Once you see the magic and life we are sure it will give you a great smile. Contact us to set up a free demo.

The following is the most effective way to remove the dust from the home in the most efficient amount of time. Step 1 is to dust off all the walls and the ceilings using the type of applicator window cleaners used to apply water to the window. Step 2 is to use a Hepa vacuum with a soft bristle brush to vacuum all the surfaces inside the home in order to remove as much of the dust as possible. Using a standard Shop Vac will not work as effectively because they do not trap as much of the dust due to the type of filers they use and a large amount of the dust picked up from the vacuum ends up blowing out the exhaust port of the vacuum into the room again. After you have vacuumed everything, and used a small paintbrush to dust the tight areas, such as the hinges and tracks of the drawers, use a soft clean Micro Fiber cloth moist with water to wipe down all the surfaces in the house to remove any dust that may have been missed by the Hepa Vacuum. Make sure you do not wipe any flat wall painted surfaces or cloths such as fabric or silk. We have found that using an orange citrus based cleaner instead of Goof Off works best for us to remove the adhesive left behind from masking tape. Sometimes the Goof Off will melt the plastic toilet seat lids. Using a floor machine with a neutral PH soap, you then need to scrub the stone floors to remove the left over grout, or residue that may be on them. Finally give one last vacuum to the hardwood floors; and then, using a clean dust mop, moist with a little water, or Bona Hard Wood floor cleaner, applied with a fine mist from a squirt bottle, go over the floors.

You will need to go back through the home again for the next few days to give a quick wipe with a moist towel to all the flat surfaces to remove the dust that will continue to settle. It is very important to turn on the HVAC system to blow out all the dust that may have settled in the air duct system. If you have floor vents in the home you should clean the air ducts professionally. Here at Pacific Cleaning Services Inc. we offer a free inspection of your ducts in case you think you might need to get them cleaned but are not sure of how dirty they are.
