SUMMARY:  Manage a team of Quality Assurance Analysts in a collaborative environment where developers, testers, and product managers work together as a team to provide the best possible web-based applications.  Teams use a story-driven Agile development process with QA participating in all major aspects of the software development lifecycle, including story estimations, planning, design and development, and manual and automated testing.  This fast-paced environment revolves around sprint based release cycles geared toward delivering swift results of quality software to our customers.

DUTIES

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
*Write and maintain manual and automated test cases and test matrixes to verify web applications via thorough feature testing. 
*Develop automated tests for regular regression testing prior to a release.
*Validate test results by accessing and querying databases.
*Manage reported issues logged within a bug tracking database.
*Provide production support by investigating and validating reported bugs.
*Cooperatively work within an integrated team of developers, product managers, and QA analysts in an Agile development environment with a fast-paced 2-week release cycle.
*Use leadership and problem solving skills to achieve objectives while managing risk factors.
*Perform post-release verification immediately following a deployment to Production on software release night.
*Proactively define and implement Quality Assurance guidelines for the software development process.
*Work with testers on the preparation and delivery of staff performance evaluations and career development activities.
*Implement ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams.
*Provides effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: QA Department


QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
*Minimum 5 years experience in software/web application quality assurance, to include a minimum of 1 year in a lead role or management position.
*Experience working in an Agile development environment.
*Experience with QTP or other automated and performance tools. 
*Some experience in programming with C and .Net development, along with a working knowledge of SQL.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
*Highly organized, with strong oral and written communication skills.
*Sound working knowledge of QA concepts and principles, as well as the ability to apply Quality Assurance and testing techniques and methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Masters degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Job Duties: 
*Must act as highest level technical expert, addressing problems of systems design, integration, compatibility, and implementation
*Be a player/coach and take on a role as an engineer in a project team as needed
*Must oversee the writing of unit tests and development of software according to requirements with a high level of quality
*Must provide technical leadership on complex projects and act as expert in business or functional areas
*Provide feedback and mentoring to engineers on the team giving them challenges and opportunities for growth
*Must architect core business components utilizing industry accepted object-oriented analysis and design standards
*Must be able to take ownership of the team and lead it in completing projects on time 
*Must be self motivated and have the ability to effectively operate in an agile environment
*Must  oversee the status during daily stand ups and help remove any roadblocks that exist
*Ability to effectively communicate with other members of the engineering department including the business owner, QA, and project management




QUALIFICATIONS

What you need to apply:
*Excellent communication skills (Very important. This is at the top for a reason.)
*Previous experience managing other engineers as a team lead or manager
*6 years' experience programming in C, Java, Python, or other OO language
*3 years' experience playing a key role in system architecture
*5 years programming in a web environment (experience with MVC is a plus)
*5 years' experience using SQL server (TSQL) or other RDBMS
*Experience mentoring other engineers
*Familiarity working in an Agile development environment

Special consideration will be given to those that have experience in the following: 
.NET 4.0, Nutch, Lucene, Hadoop,  ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework 2.0, NUnit, Mocking, WCF, Silverlight, SCRUM, Linq, Visual Studio 2010, Stored Procedures, Threading
