<my:review type="string">This software is amazing. It is quite simple to use, yet very powerful. You can query or set up reports on anything. The software is very inexpensive and they hold your hand through the entire process. The cost for converting our existing data was really reasonable. What I love is that they don't nickel and dime you for everything. I can set up events as well and store patient information if I want to. The best thing though is the customer care. From day one they have been so helpful and efficient.</my:review>

<my:review type="string">It's way too big and way too expensive but it does serious member management very well. If you're at an organization that has 10,000 members+ and want to do sophisticated direct mail selection, etc. it's probably worth the money. It's very well supported, bristling with features, improves with every release, and there are modules that let you do just about anything. Definitely not for a small non-profit, or one just starting out. Windows-only, both client and server. Full SQL Server required for databases larger than 2GB (and its fairly easy to meet that threshold)</my:review>

<my:review type="string">Free and only getting better. GMails spreadsheet and word processing tools are quickly making it a much more attraction option for low budget operations. Since it is not well designed for palm/blackberry devices, it may not be well suited for mobile users.

Also, GChat works great as an interoffice communcation tool. It saves transcripts and is easily searchable for those of us that are orgnizationally impaired :P

I expect GMail to continue to improve and hope that it remains free and fully functional for all users!

If you are concerned about security, you may want to avoid GMail as all of the data is hosted on their servers. They SAY they do not read or index it, but their adserving programs certainly know the content of your emails and chats. A little too "big brother" for some.</my:review>

<my:review type="string">Whenever I start at a new NP, I always give the donor management software market a once over, looking for new products, advances since I last checked, etc. However, since the late 80's I've been hooked on DonorPerfect. I've followed them from DOS to Windows and now to their web-based program.

You could say I'm a big fan. We've been using them to collect online donations, transfer to our bank account and instantly update our donor information. They've recently added functionality to easily link up with general forms on our website that allow us to instantly record mailing list additions and membership information directly into our database as well.

They aren't as expensive as Raisors Edge, but they are also not as cheap as a product like Giftworks (which I have not used, but it looks very pretty).</my:review>

<my:review type="string">I concur with Jon. I looked into Raiser's Edge after hearing from many friend in the higher ed world that it is the Caddy of fundraising software. But when I realized their business model factors in lots of recurring costs and actually saw their program I was disappointed. It seems to be very fullfeatured, but it wasn't intuitive, was difficult to learn and was WAY out of our price range.</my:review>
