Burberry London For her - Very sweet & strong floral perfume. You only need to put a very little bit on as it lingers on 4 houre & tends to come across strong if you put too much on.

Burberry London is indispensible while visiting the city of London if one wants to feel the pulse of this old and contemporary city. This is a classic floral scent with jasmine in its heart. It opens up with rose and honeysuckle harmonized with a fruity tangerine note. White floral hear note includes jasmine, Tiare Flower and Soft Peony. It leaves a velvety trail of wood and musk. Burberry London was created in 2006 by Dominique Ropion, Jean-Marc Chaillan. It’s advertising campaign features actress Rachel Weisz and actor Ioann Gruffud.

IMHO all the Burberry fragrances are very similar to each other. I think it’s because of that signature peony note that distinguishes them – ohh that’s Burberry!

So, to compare to the other fragrances from this house, London starts off with a blast of freshness similar to Brit Sheer, minus the litchi note. The florals close to the heart are like a cross between Burberry Woman and Brit. It doesn’t have the sweetness of Brit nor the musky creaminess of Burberry Woman. Rather, it’s a fresh fushion of zesty peony and white floral. And in the Burberry tradition, the base notes are not very strong. I mean, the persistence is good, but the scent remain very subtle and close to the skin after the first two or three hours.

I would describe London as the freshest floral I’ve tried so far from Burberry, though. It has that breezy sophistication that would make a casually dressed woman stand out in the room. Very pleasant to smell and well-balanced scent! A safe “gift perfume” for 20-35 year olds IMHO. Bravo Burberry!

Glow by Jennifer Lopez - It's a nice clean musky scent that I really like. It stays close to you and makes you smell shower fresh.

Jlo Glow is the first fragrance by Jennifer Lopez. The fragrance was meant to target women in their late teens and early 20s and it became very popular breaking numerous records in sales which inspired other celebreties to launch their own signature fragrances. Notes are: neroli, pink grapefruit, rose, sandalwood, amber, musk, jasmine, iris and vanilla. J.Lo describes Glow as ‘a skin-scent’. It is described as ‘clean’, even soapy with a sweet, powdery trail. Glow was created by Louise Turner, Catherine Walsh in 2002. A pleasant, flowery and fresh, slightly soapy eau de toilette that lasts for about 6 hours and stays close to the skin. Good choice when you just want to smell fresh and clean. I was surprised at how well blended the fragrance is. All I smell is a bit citrus then a nice, soapy lilly-of-the-valley scent that about an hour later becomes slightly rosey, powdery and musky.

Apart from the musk I couldn’t make any any other base notes, they must be there in minute quantites only. Nothing groundbreaking but Glow still stands on its own right.

Heiress by Paris Hilton - Sweet scent for sweet girls

Paris Hilton Heiress is floral – fruity perfume introduced in 2006. It got its name after Paris, the heiress of the Hilton chain hotels. It opens passionately with passion fruit, orange, juicy peach, mimosas and champagne. The heart ticks with accords of star jasmine, Tiare lily, delightfully sweet ylang-ylang, honeysuckle and grenadine. The base is composed of violet leaf, Tahiti Tonka and light wood. Henry de Monclin designed the bottle, available as 50 and 100 ml EDT.

Heiress really isn’t bad at all, it is very sweet. If you enjoy such fragrances like Kylie Minogue’s Showtime, Britney Spears’ Fantasy and Aquolina’s Pink Sugar, then this fragrance may appeal to you seeming that it is made in the same vein.

The fruity opening was quite synthetic and sugary, the scent very similar to a fruit-flavoured popsicle. My initial response to this sweet opening was that it was most likely aimed at younger consumers, it has a very youthful and flirtatious feel.

The scent is rather linear, the floral notes are only very subtle and the fragrance has a clean, almost shampoo like quality. Everything from the scent to the glittery pink bottle, makes me think of Barbie. I feel that for somebody like me, Heiress is a little childish. However I do recommend this to young girls that are going through the phase where they’ll love anything sweet and gooey.

Paco Rabanne Black XS Unique, masculine & sexy

Paco Rabanne Black XS was created in 2005 by Olivier Cresp. This perfume is definitely masculine. Knowing the desire of some women to wear men’s fragrances, it can be said that no woman would dare to wear Black XS despite of its soft and warm woodsy notes and even sweet notes of the drydown. Citrusy opening makes a great introduction into the sweet and spicy heart of the composition. Deep and dark sweet fruity notes of the heart are replaced by woodsy notes and amber in the base. In such sweet surrounding amber tends to take a tobacco nuance, while the musk tames the extreme masculinity of this scent. Black XS features fresh lemon notes, Kalamanzi fruit, tagetes, sage, praline, cardamom, cinnamon, Tou balsam, rosewood, black amber, patchouli and ebony.

To my nose, the cardamom, cinnamon, lemon, and patchouli are the most dominant notes in Black XS. I get a sense of chocolate in the drydown where it gets sweet. This is a rowdy, loud, obnoxious cologne so be cautious on the spritzer.

Some says that the smells like ck euphoria intense however it has got some other smells to it, strawberry/rosewood. This is another perfume that oozes sexiness.

Longevity is marvelous and the sillage is more than you can ask for. I’m sure this will get everyone’s attention that you come across.

Hugo Boss Selection - Fresh and masculine and perfect for anytime wear

I have tried this one and really like the fragrance. It stays with you for a long while and has a fresh, clean scent. Clearly manly, but not overpowering. A little goes a long way. It does not smell like “cologne”, just a nice clean scent, but not a deodorant scent. Hard to pin down. Definitely I would recommend if you are just starting to check out colognes and don’t know what to buy or don’t know what to buy for someone.

Davidoff Cool water smells fresh and young, and doesnt overpower anything else, but it also lasts a good long time, so it doesn’t really need to be applied throughout the day, just once in the morning, and perhaps an extra spritz if going out for the evening. Bvlgari Jasmin Noir - Elegant, Feminine with classic touch

Bvlgari presents their new perfume Jasmin Noir to the market in September 2008. Its mysteriously dark bottle will become an object of affection for many fans of the house of Bvlgari, whereas the fragrance will attract many fans of woody-floral compositions.
The perfume Jasmin Noir is dedicated to women between 25 and 40, who are ready to pay more than average prices typical of Bvlgari’s previous editions.

Perfumers Carlos Benaim and Sophie Labbe (perfumers of the house of IFF) are in charge of this year’s luxurious, fragrancy rapsody.

The perfume is created in dualist contrast of masculine and feminine notes.The perfumers wanted to compose Jasmin Noir with jasmine as the central ingredient, but in a very different way than before. Jasmine is wrapped and created as dark, with mysterious aromas of precious wood.

The composition opens with green plants juice with gardenia flowers. The heart encompasses Sambac jasmine absolute mixed with sateen almond aromas, while the base introduces dark notes of precious wood, with liquorice absolute and accords of Tonka.

Commercial for this perfume was made on the Spanish island of Ibiza, cover face is Kate Moss, who is wearing a very expensive diamond necklace by Bvlgari, while the perfume bottle is visible in the background. Photographers who signed this commercial are Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

The dark bottle will be available as 50ml (1.7fl.oz) and 100ml (3.4fl.oz) EDP. Besides the perfumes, the collection includes 200 ml body lotion and 200 ml bath, which will be available in the same time as the perfume.

Vera Wang - Princess - Oriental-floral fragrance for sweet girls

Oriental-floral fragrance, launched in 2006 as a modern and playful magical elixir. It celebrates youth and femininity in its top notes that bring the aquatic nuances with pure and sharp notes of water lily, apple, freshly-sweet mandarin and apricot.
The heart is composed of exotic guava, Tiare flower, tuberose, with a touch of dark chocolate. The base brings powdery traces of vanilla, amber and wood.

The bottle looks like a heart-shaped jewel, very fine and elegant, a symbol of magical charm and romantic in lilac tones. The fragrance comes as Eau de Toilette in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles.

The noses behind this fragrance are Ilias Ermenidis and Harry Fremont.

This scent is delighful, delicious and has an awesomely unique combination of notes. Don’t know why it is listed as an Oriental Floral when it should be Floral Fruity/Gourmand but it is right up there with Fantasy.

I adore Vera Wang Princess! It’s truly a delight for the nose! The opening is sweet and gourmand. On me I can smell the vanilla and chocolate immediately–it takes a while for the other notes to emerge. After about 15 minutes I can detect the apricot, guava, and the barest hint of the apple. I detect almost nothing of flowers in this concoction. On the dry down, the vanilla is still there but it reacts with the amber and musk to lend itself to a vanilla incense type of fragrance. I’m confused as to why it’s classified as an oriental floral. This is gourmand– or floral fruity gourmand at the least.

DKNY Be Delicious by Donna Karan - Apple at its very best

This is a bright, fresh and energetic fragrance, which matches a picture of a bold, but charming woman. The top features green notes, violet leaf, apple, grapefruit and magnolia. The heart brings tuberose, lily of the valley, rose and violet, while the base – sandalwood, amber and musk.

DKNY Be Delicious is a new fragrance and it was introduced in 2009. The nose behind this fragrance is Maurice Roucel.

DKNY Be Delicious is not tarty or sour like I expected it to be, the apple note is fresh, juicy and pretty.

This would make the perfect Summer fragrance. The additives of cucumber, magnolia and lily-of-the-valley makes this fragrance so very soft, feminine and crisp. There’s an element of watery freshness which makes this fragrance ideal for really hot days.

The woodsy undertones in the base of this scent is fantastic and very different. A definite highlight for me and a great credit to Maurice Roucel who created this very popular fragrance.

About the longevity of the fragrance, DKNY Be Delicious is an EDP. So yes, it will stick to your skin or even fabric for many hours undoubtly.

Paris Hilton does not need a lot of announcement. Everything is already familiar; she is an actress, model, heiress, always followed by photo camera flashes. This perfume carries her name, it was presented in 2005, as her first perfume. It had to follow Paris, in her extravagance and temperament. It was designed by Steve Demercado and James Krivda, who made the top notes voluptuous and seductive with apple, orange and melon. The heart is opulent, floral, sweet and pure, created of jasmine, freesia, lily, tuberose, mimose and lily of the valley. The base leaves a sweet tone of ylang-ylang, milky-powdery and intensive sandalwood, musk and oakmoss. It is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml edt.

Well, you know when you smell a pretty woman who walks by and she smells sooo good and sexy as hell. I was on the lookout for a perfume like that in macys. When I stumbled upon Paris Hilton’s perfumes, I had a good feeling about it. I figured if anyone would walk around smelling really good and sexy it would be Paris Hilton, and sure enough her perfume did not dissapoint. It is feminine fruit and floral. Its one of the best fruity perfumes I have smelled as of lately.

This seems youthful and vibrant. It is very fruity. Smells to me like freshly sliced apples and peaches dripping with water. Keep in the mind the fruit is fresh though, not saturated with sugar and syrup (no vanilla). For a very fruity scent, I think it’s done well. Crisp, and not overly sweet or floral like many of the other fragrances of the moment. The drydown reminds me of Exclamation.

Well some people put the tag to this perfume as the cheaper version of Ralph by Ralph Laurrent. But I guess they are right and I guess there’s nothing wrong with it and I think it’s pretty nice . And also the bottle design is not bad at all.

Kenzo Power - It is a great perfume and it last for so long and it is so different and recongnizable

Kenzo Power by Kenzo is woody spicy fragrance for men. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Polge. Kenzo Power feautures spicy top notes, middle notes are coriander, bergamot and cardamom; base notes are amber and woodsy notes. Available from August 20. 2008.

For me the best fragrance of the year…I’m totally in love with it…more than on 1 million. I love the fact that this on is 3 perfume in one! It changes so many time, with every sniff you can feel different notes.

At the beginning it is very soft, it seems a bit femminine, with this floral bouquet where I think there is heliotrope or violet.
The a very intense spicy aromatic part come out, it seems like the power of the masculinity. Cardamom, coriander and a citrus note of bergamot let this magica happen. At the end you can feel all the warm and sweet of the oriental accord: amber, labdanum, white musk and cedar wood.

Kenzo Power - The dry down is "powdery" and much more effeminate than the rest of the perfume!

Lively, natural, unique, and androgynous. The perfume has great balance of zing, earthen tones, artistry, and style. Did I mention quality in craftsmanship too? The spicy top is beautiful and energizing and gives way to a gorgeous field of flowers. The dry down is “powdery” and much more effeminate than the rest of the perfume! This may be a Kenzo mark, as I noticed an almost identical dry down in Kenzo Flower. Back to the beginning, the perfume comes out oily, but that’s a sign that this perfume really sticks to skin and lasts for many hours.

It is a great perfume and it last for so long and it is so different and recongnizable.

Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme - aromatic aquatic fragrance for men

Aqva Pour Homme by Bvlgari is a aromatic aquatic fragrance for men. Aqva Pour Homme was launched in 2005. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Cavallier. The fragrance features orange, amber, patchouli, mandarin orange, woodsy notes and cedar

An extraordinarily lovely fragrance. It is Aqua Di Gio without the spiciness but with the classic Bvlgari smoothness.

Aqva also reminds me a lot of Roberto Verino “VV Man” and “True Religion for Men”. However, I think Aqva is a richer, smoother fragrance than any of the above.

The notes pyramid shows orange and mandarin notes. They must be exceptionally blended because I cannot distinguish them or any other citrus type notes. Bvlgari Aqva, Aqua Di Gio, VV Man, and True Religion do have an essence that reminds me of cucumber and/or melon rind. That is not a criticism. It gives me a very fresh and clean sensation. It’s more subtle and not as “bright green” as cut grass. How should I describe this? It is more of a “dark green”, watery accord. If you’ve tried Halston “Unbound”, that is the essence I have in mind.

Thereafter, I find that Aqva progresses very quickly to extremely pleasant woods and patchouli perhaps with some of that classic Bvlgari Pour Homme white tea base. All the while, that “dark green”, watery essence is in the background. It is just marvelous.

Does it give me any sense of being on or near the water? A mountain lake perhaps but not on the ocean. I suppose it is difficult for me to associate woods with the ocean and I detect no marine/salty smell at all. For me, it’s like having melon rinds and/or cucumber on one side and warm woods on the other. So in that sense, there is an “earthy”, very fresh wateriness but nothing I would associate with the sea.

I’ve received frequent compliments when wearing Aqva. It is a fragrance that rewards the wearer for many hours. I never grow weary of it.

Longevity and projection are both good. I can tell this is a well made fragrance. I really love this and recommend it for anyone who wants a change from the regular aquatics.

In my opinion the original Boss in Motion is one of the best fragrances to come from the Boss line.

It opens with a sort of candy orange note which throughout the life of the fragrance never really disappears. I find the dry down to be very creamy. I don’t detect too much spice. Yes it is synthetic, but still very smooth and invigorating. Longevity and projection are both solid.

I agree with others this could be a unisex scent. On a confident dude it smells devilishly masculine and on the right lady it can smell edgy feminine. It’s all about persona.

Terre d'Hermes - Great fragrance, woody, earthy, unique, elegant and sophisticated.

This men’s scent is very elegant. It combines heaven and earth,a true voyage through various element.It includes a classic masculine trio: citrus, woods and musk. Main notes are: grapefruit, orange, flint, pepper, pink pepper, geranium leaves, patchouli, cedar, vetiver, and benzoin. It was created in 2006 by Jean-Claude Ellena.

The fragrance offer true perfumery splendor of mastery skills and is a real classy composition with modern appeal. Terre d’Hermes does have a sparkling nature that extremely scintillates.

There is wood & musk but what dominate is pepper (pink & black) with orange “citrus” and a clear hint of flint. I am impressed as what I thought prior to try is … “Black and Pink peppers with flint and benzoin notes may even crash a sensitive nose & senses”… but I was totally wrong. Terre d’Hermes is a composition that really makes you dwell in a deep refreshing aroma of Terre (earth).

Merely a formal wear for day time in summer specially.

Cool Water by Davidoff - Masculine, Fresh & very long lasting

Cool Water is fresh and sharp, simple and very masculine. Top notes include mint and green nuances, lavender, coriander and rosemary. The heart notes include geranium, neroli, jasmine and sandalwood. The base is composed of cedarwood, musk, amber and tobacco.

It was created by Pierre Bourdon in 1988. … 1988? Yup, this wasn’t a new perfume but until today it’s one of favorite perfume for people who like masculine fragrance with long lasting characteristic.

I found it hard to pick the notes in Cool Water. What I can say it is a clean, fresh fragrance and I like it. In my preliminary notes (I have a notebook) I put down “herby citrussy opening”, yet looking at the list of notes here on Fragrantica no citrus appears. After a number of tests I am certain there is citrus in the top notes and this is accompanied by lavender and herbs (one of which is mint). It has quite a soapiness about it for the first quarter of an hour to half an hour, making it seem somewhat like an aromatic fougere. After the top notes have faded, you are left with a classy, slightly herby musky fragrance. It reminds me to some degree of offerings such as Paco Rabanne XS.

Anyhow, this was probably the most popular male scent in Central Europe in the 1990s. Worth buying as they said indeed some ladies love this scent. :p
