Aww man.. We’ve used the All-In-One SEO pack plugin multiple times without a problem, but a new site we were working on made use of a custom field called “description” as the meta_key or custom field name.

When we activated All-In-One SEO, it said we needed to upgrade 100+ entries, so, not thinking, I pressed the button. We continued to work, only realizing after adding MORE entries that the problem kept coming back and all of our descriptions on existing finished pages were GONE!

A quick look at the backend showed that All-In-One SEO copied the descriptions to it’s own meta_key and deleted ours.

Luckily, a little MySQL magic can fix this problem…
Try this in phpMySQL or whatever:

1
2
3

insert wp_postmeta (post_id,meta_key,meta_value)
select post_id, substring(meta_key,10), meta_value
from wp_postmeta where meta_key in ('_aioseop_title','_aioseop_description','_aioseop_keywords');

Major Kudos to these 2 posts below for pointing me in the right direction VERY quickly:

Twitter this, Facebook that. Your business is on all the major social media outlets, but now what? Knowing what to post and how to talk to your audience can be tricky to figure out. Just remember that social media is all about getting to know your customer and encouraging them to get to know you. Here are some easy ways to help engage your followers on social media sites.

Ask Questions
The one thing people love to talk about more than anything else is themselves. Giving people the opportunity to do so is bound to get responses. Ask your followers for their opinion on a hot topic or even what their favorite band is. Start a dialog! Social media is two-way communication. Talk with your audience, not at them. Just remember to keep the questions relevant to your business.

Industry Articles
Finding and posting industry articles is a quick way to generate content on your social media channels that would be of interest to your followers. Try combing strategies and asking a question when you post the link. This will hopefully prompt your followers to respond and start generating conversation.

Help Make Decisions
Asking your followers to help you make business decisions is a great way to engage through social media. Do you own a restaurant or clothing store that you’re thinking of expanding? Ask your followers where they’d like to see the new location. Whether you listen to their suggestions or not it’s a great way to keep them informed about your business and help them take ownership in your company as well.

Use Humor
It’s clear from the popularity of Internet meme’s that people like a good laugh. Try to find or create some of your own. Found a hilarious video? Post it! People love to find and share things that will make their friends laugh. Make the search a little easier for your followers.

A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words
With the growth of social media companies like Pintrest and Instagram it’s clear that people like visuals. They’re quick and to the point, meaning you can catch your audiences attention even if they’re in a rush and quickly scrolling through their feed. Are you a travel company? Find breathtaking photos of your top destinations. A restaurant? Make their mouths water with some food photography. An orlando video company? Chronicle your photo and video shoots and give your followers something to always look forward to.

Anytime you can find an opportunity to spark a conversation between you and your followers grab it! Social media is all about two-way communication. Always remember to be yourself when posting on Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, etc. Social media allows consumers to develop a personal relationship with the companies they buy from. Don’t ruin it by coming off as fake!

This real-time chat accesses your Facebook account and interest graph to connect you with a video chat partner whom you may or may not know.

Parker, an entrepreneur who helped launch Facebook and Spotify, thought the interest graph, often used for targeting ads, could also be used to connect people. Most video chats rely on the social graph by connecting people through their social circles. Airtime, on the other hand, connects people through their shared interests.

We’re not sure how big of a hit this will be, but one feature strikes us as pretty neat. Airtime gives you the ability to share videos while you’re video chatting. So, you and your chat partner can watch a video at the same time and see each other’s reactions. We think they might be onto something there.

What do you think—will this new social video network be a hit or miss?

It’s all about the video. At least that’s what Robert Kynci head of YouTube’s global partnerships is declaring. His recent appearance at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show caused a major stir when he made claims suggesting that 90% of all web traffic will be video. Yes, it’s a bold attention grabber designed to do just that, but Kynci may be on to something here. In 2011, YouTube announced that it logged one trillion hits and is anticipating even more in 2012. This means that young people are flocking to YouTube not only to discover new web content but also to post their own videos in hopes of jumping on the Web sensation bandwagon. Certainly adding to these large numbers are the increasingly new unconventional users such as the newsmakers and politicians contributing video content on everything news and campaign related. Connecting with an audience through a major site like Youtube would also certainly expand the market of a business, making it a necessary component and not just a growing trend.

Kynci also predicts that in the next 10 years, 75 percent of all new channels will be internet channels. This may seem far-fetched but YouTube is actually putting their money where their mouth is, pouring $100 million into original content production, banking on this theory that the web video is the modern day business card. This can only mean great things, not only for video producers, editors and video marketers, but also for those willing to take a different approach to get their brand out there. So whether you’re looking to become the next YouTube star, or just trying to expand your brand, it’s safe to say that the future of web video is now.

We all make resolutions for a healthier, more organized and better us each New Year’s. Social media should be no exception. Here are some expert predictions of what trends to expect in 2012:

Photo and video social networks will blossom: Photo and video based social interaction is predicted to be the emerging force for brands in 2012. “Given that the camera on your smartphone is almost as good as your actual camera, the multimedia-driven social networks are here to stay.”

YouTube provides a social experience: This year YouTube is set to finally get it’s deserved recognition and significant use as a major social network. Why? YouTube consumer consumption is becoming more social with the integration of Google+. Those businesses paying attention to this trend will respond by focusing on their own personal YouTube networks.

More social players will join in: There is no slowing down the birth of newer social players. They may not seem to take off at first but keep an eye out because some literally may become hits overnight. Prime example, Pintrest in 2011. How will brands begin to utilize these new opportunities and what will pop up on the social media radar in 2012?

Regularly creating unique content becomes essential: Successful brand marketing will REQUIRE two things: Creating unique content to gain consumer attention. Creating and releasing this content on a regular basis. Consistency is key!

With these trends continually evolving and a multitude of new platforms on the horizon, it will be interesting to see where this year takes social media. What juggernauts will become obsolete? And what new player will earn rookie of the year? Stay tuned to find out!

YouTube – It may be hard to get your site to rank for certain keywords, but Google loves to put video results on page one when relevant, and Google just so happens to own the world’s biggest video site.

Google+ has introduced a whole new realm of SEO possibilities based on getting found via Google’s own properties.

Google ranks Google+ posts in search results, and they often appear on the first page.

The +1 button obviously helps your search visibility cause. Google made it clear from the beginning that this would be a search signal.

Google doesn’t index all of Facebook right now. It’s a lost cause for SEO, they’re also no longer indexing Twitter. Google does index anything publicly for Google+.

What is TED?

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

Official video footage of the event will be released soon.

The new elements added to Facebook have created a feedback loop that drives social discovery, engagement, and targeting opportunities. Follow these seven suggestions to amp up your Facebook marketing tactics.

Get On The Graph – These social stories show in the ticker each time a user performs an action in an application, and are then aggregated into the timeline.

Go Beyond Pages – Create an experience that is truly social by design and conveys your brand identity.

Focus On Experiences – Integrate actions and verbs into sharable and social experiences.

Analyze Your Audience - A high GraphRank will build more relevance in friends-of-friends, and drive additional discovery via the news feed.

Use Sponsored Stories To Spread Brand Awareness - Stories that resonate best should be plucked out of the Ticker, in real-time, and sponsored to friends for greater impact via sponsored stories ads.

Work GraphRank To Make Your Ads More Effective – when done correctly should yield higher engagement and pass-along rates.

Go Beyond The Click – Understand how your users behave once they are within your app, and not just how they got there initially.
