El evento es un programa de un d&amp;iacute;a de una Red de Servicios para Personas sin Hogar (HSN) para proveer disponibilidad, servicios y vivienda convenientemente en un mismo lugar para hombres, mujeres y familias que experimentan la falta de vivienda en el Condado de Osceola.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;Este Proyecto de &amp;ldquo;Homeless Connect&amp;rdquo; es un ejemplo de la colaboraci&amp;oacute;n comunitaria de la que estamos tan orgullosos en nuestro condado. &lt;p&gt;El evento ofreci&amp;oacute; servicios y donaciones de m&amp;aacute;s de 50 agencias sin fines de lucro, grupos religiosos, agencias del condado y negocios locales, e incluy&amp;oacute; Asistencia m&amp;eacute;dica, una ducha caliente y comida, Refugio, habilidades de Posibilidad de empleo, vales de Alimento y Ropa, Servicios Legales (Asistencia para obtener documentos legales y de identification), Servicios de Salud Mental y servicios y orientaci&amp;oacute;n acerca del Abuso de Sustancias, Solicitudes para Beneficios del Veterano, Solicitudes para cupones de alimento y otros beneficios por medio del Departamento de Ni&amp;ntilde;os y Familias, Identificaci&amp;oacute;n, Permisos de Conducir, Reemplazos de Certificados de Nacimiento y de Tarjeta de Seguro Social por el Departamento de Autom&amp;oacute;viles, la Administraci&amp;oacute;n de Seguro Social, y la Oficina de Estad&amp;iacute;sticas Vitales del Condado de Osceola.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;El evento atrajo a aproximadamente 400 personas sin hogar que viven en los campos, en las calles, en los veh&amp;iacute;culos y en edificios abandonados en el condado, as&amp;iacute; como familias que viven en cuartos de motel a lo largo del corredor de la 192.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Commissioners Hawkins, Smith Kick Off 2009 "Project Homeless Connect" at Osceola Heritage Park</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Osceola County, Florida &amp;ndash; Osceola County Commissioners Fred Hawkins, Jr. and Ken Smith helped kick-off the 2009 &amp;ldquo;Project Homeless Connect&amp;rdquo; event held last Friday at Osceola Heritage Park. The event is a Homeless Services Network (HSN) one-day program to provide outreach, services and housing in a convenient one-stop model for men, women and families experiencing homelessness in Osceola County.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;This Project Homeless Connect is an example of the community collaboration that we are so proud of in our county. We rely on this collaboration to help deal with the difficult economic times we are all facing, especially when it comes to the issue of homelessness,&amp;rdquo; said Hawkins. &amp;ldquo;Our goal today is to help connect our citizens to the services they need to become self-sufficient and stably-housed as quickly as possible, so that the service connections they make today will afford them a better tomorrow.&amp;rdquo;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The event provided services and donations from more than 50 nonprofits, faith-based groups, county agencies and local businesses, and included Medical care, A hot shower and meal, Shelter, Employability skills, Food and Clothing vouchers, Legal Services (Support for obtaining legal documents and IDs), Mental Health and Substance Abuse services and counseling, Veteran&amp;rsquo;s Benefit Applications, Application for food stamps and other benefits through the Department of Children and Families, Identification, Driver&amp;rsquo;s License, Birth Certificate and Social Security Card Replacement by the Department of Motor Vehicles, Social Security Administration, and Osceola County Vital Statistics.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The event drew an estimated 400 homeless persons living in camps, on the streets, in vehicles and in abandoned buildings in the county, as well as families living in motel rooms along the US 192 corridor.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>District One Town Hall Meeting Well Attended</title>

&lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;When one of our visions becomes a reality, it gives us a sense of joy, accomplishment and further aspiration,&amp;rdquo; said Qui&amp;ntilde;ones. &amp;ldquo;After many meetings, relocation of programs, and challenges for meeting deadlines, the Robert Guevara Community Center is open, with a final cost of $1,400,000 - saving a substantial amount from the approved budget for this project.&amp;rdquo;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The state-of-the-art community center will serve as headquarters for many programs held both year-round and during the week, in addition to weekend celebrations. With 2,917 square-feet added, there is now a total of approximately 9,400 square feet of interior space; expanded and improved features include offices, a large conference room, a new exercise / dance studio, several meeting rooms, kitchen, and a large multi-purpose assembly room with a dance area for scheduled activities that can accommodate 389 people.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;In addition, the facility will house an Osceola County Sheriff&amp;rsquo;s satellite office, which may also be used as a base for Neighborhood Watch meetings.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Temporary Road Closures in ChampionsGate for Runners Classic</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Osceola County, Florida &amp;ndash; Several roads within the ChampionsGate development will be temporarily closed between 7:30-9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2009 for the Runners Classic event held there between 7:00-11:00 a.m.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The event includes a 10K, 5K and Children&amp;rsquo;s Fun Run with approximately 1,000-1,500 attendees.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The temporary road closures within the ChampionsGate development will occur for the 5K and 10K running events, and include: &lt;br /&gt;&#xD;

&lt;p&gt;El evento de &amp;ldquo;GREAT STRIDES&amp;rdquo; se llevar&amp;aacute; a cabo el s&amp;aacute;bado, 8 de mayo, 2010 en el St. Cloud Lakefront. &amp;ldquo;GREAT STRIDES&amp;rdquo; recauda fondos cr&amp;iacute;ticos para investigaci&amp;oacute;n que salve vidas, educaci&amp;oacute;n y programas de cuidado para fibrosis qu&amp;iacute;stica, una enfermedad gen&amp;eacute;tica mortal.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;Con tanta investigaci&amp;oacute;n prometedora en el horizonte, es m&amp;aacute;s importante que nunca que recaudemos cada d&amp;oacute;lar que podamos para combatir la Fibrosis Qu&amp;iacute;stica y mejorar las vidas de las personas con esta enfermedad,&amp;rdquo; dijo el Comisionado Hawkins. &amp;ldquo;Estoy agradecido por las contribuciones de cada voluntario y donante quienes apoyan &amp;ldquo;GREAT STRIDES&amp;rdquo;, y ans&amp;iacute;o alcanzar la meta del a&amp;ntilde;o 2010.&amp;rdquo;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;Caminatas de &amp;ldquo;GREAT STRIDES&amp;rdquo; se llevar&amp;aacute;n a cabo en 600 localidades atrav&amp;eacute;s del pa&amp;iacute;s &amp;mdash; incluyendo St. Cloud &amp;mdash; desde marzo a junio.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;La Fundaci&amp;oacute;n de Fibrosis Qu&amp;iacute;stica ha sido reconocida como una de las organizaciones ben&amp;eacute;ficas m&amp;aacute;s eficientes del pa&amp;iacute;s. Casi 90 centavos de cada d&amp;oacute;lar recaudado por la organizaci&amp;oacute;n sirve para el estudio de la enfermedad y programas de cuidado.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

2010&amp;nbsp;Chair of GREAT STRIDES in Osceola County by the Central Florida Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The GREAT STRIDES event will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the St. Cloud Lakefront. GREAT STRIDES raises critical funds for life-saving research, education and care programs for cystic fibrosis, a fatal genetic disease.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;With so much promising research on the horizon, it&amp;rsquo;s more important than ever that we raise every dollar we can to fight CF and improve the lives of people with this disease,&amp;rdquo; said Commissioner Hawkins. &amp;ldquo;I am grateful for the contributions of each volunteer and donor who support GREAT STRIDES, and look forward to making 2010 a milestone year.&amp;rdquo;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;GREAT STRIDES walks will occur at 600 sites across the country &amp;mdash; including St. Cloud &amp;mdash; from March to June.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The CF Foundation has been recognized as one of the most efficient charities in the country. Nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised by the CF Foundation is available to fund CF research and care programs.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
