The view is to the west looking over the Chesapeake Bay and was shot from the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel a few hundred yards before entering the east end of the tunnel. The drive back to the Charlottesville area (where I live) was a rough one–lot of heavy rain and a number of accidents were encountered along the way–fortunately I was not one of them.

I have for a number of years seen this gentleman on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall. He is always alone and is often gesturing oddly, shouting incoherently or in this instance–clapping loudly–for reasons only known to him

Shot yesterday on my 14th trip to document and interpret this wonderful community.

Flowers I gave to my wife for Mother’s Day–wilted and ready to be let go. Just as children grow into adults and leave home so much of life as you get older, is about letting go.

I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D-7100–a huge improvement over the D-90 I was using.  I shot this flower today to begin getting acquainted with my new toy.

I shot this last January on the always intriguing Downtown Mall. As you can see it was a dreary day but passing stunning young ladies like this one always brightens my day no matter what the weather.

I shot this a few nights ago in the Belmont Section of Charlottesville. I did a little software manipulating but mostly the effects you see are a result of looking through a rainy, wet windshield and a wet window on the building in front of where I was parked. I like the slightly spooky but intriguing result.

Last night after a meeting in town I went out shooting in the dark and rain.  I spotted this scene in the heart of “Downtown Belmont.”
