Alright guys this should bring us all up to date on the Kuroshitsuji episodes!!

Hmmm my first reaction to this weeks episode would be… strange… I’m starting to worry about the episodes that feel like they are pulling teeth a little… though that could just be my opinion.

This weeks episode is based on a train and revolves around a man whose sun is kidnapped and being held for ransom. Ciel has been asked to catch the criminal by the queen and therefore has boarded the train, looking for suspicious characters and possible leads. However it appears that there are in fact quite a few things all happening at once on this journey.

First would be the presence of a Mummy, claimed to be a new collectors item. We see this because Finny is so excited about the train that he bumps into the people loading it onto the train and therefore exposes it. On board the train we meet the man who discovered it and has brought it on board, however, something is suspicious about it since Sebastian claims he met the Egyptian king when he was alive alive and that the mummy they saw doesn’t resemble him much. Ciel therefore labels the man as suspicious and a fake.

Next on is a man who is obsessed and interested in the train timetable. Seems like the episode is building characters (which in my opinion seem a little weak). We also meet a Preist with tattoos and an old Japanese couple. My thoughts now: Where on earth is this leading.

Next we have a character we’ve met before, or we think we have at least. Mr Abberline, the detective that worked for Scotland Yard. He announces that there is a dangerous man held onboard under watch, a dangerous killer.

Mr Abberline was in the last episode, however, something has just occured to me. If you remember from the first season, Fred Abberline didn’t fully trust Ciel and his Watch dog postition for the Queen, but soon gets to trust him. If you remember near the end of the series he is killed by Lau because he used himself as a human sheild to protect Ciel. So how could it be that he suddenly returns, then I realised, Mr Abberline didn’t recognise Ciel in the third episode so something was obvioiusly strange. Also Ciel didn’t remember that he died. The episode then clears this up by having Mr Abberline clear it up for us.

He had a twin brother, suggesting that this Mr Abberline is in fact Fred’s twin brother. However Ciel appears to still believe that he is Fred showing no signs of remembering anything. What is going on here?

Now finally we have the reappearence of a character we haven’t seen in a while; Claude. Nothing much is revealed yet, just that Sebastian and him made eye contact and Ciel has noticed. Which also made me notice that as he zoomed on Claude’s eyes that they are in fact Golden… Could he have been the man behind the incidents in the last episode?

Making their way back to their compartment on the train, the kidnapper bumps into them, Ciel notices the wound on his hand and recognises it as the man who Finny bumped into at the start of the episode and dropped the crate holding the Mummy in. To be honest this seemed like a really weak reasoning as to him being the Kidnapper but it was true none the less. So they run down the train and he detaches the last compartment on the train. Ciel orders Sebastian to chase after him, which he does, he catches the kidnapper (yay) but then finds out that there are bombs on the train that will explode when the train stops. More problems.

Meanwhile Ciel thinks where a child could be hidden on the train and narrows it down to the Mummy Crate, he finds the kid and starts to rescue him. However the prisoner on the train got loose during the commotion of the carriage disconnecting and has now taken Ciel hostage… However due to the Sebastian changing tracks on the train earlier to stop it from stopping, it is now heading towards a broken bridge.

So the situation has now become: Fall down a cliff by going onto the broken bridge, Stop the train and explode, or die of a potential outbreak of Cholera in the carriage. Ciel orders Sebastian to clear up this mess and for a brief moment everyone in the carriage seems to have a way to contribute to help fix the situation. However, Sebastian states that this is not needed and that he will be sufficient enough. And it is true, within a few moments, he has kicked the killer off the train, saved Ciel, ripped off the roof of the carriage with the bomb on (the dining cart). Ciel complains saying that he could have been seen but Sebastian says that this is not necessary since the only person in there he shouldn’t need to worry about (Claude). Then Sebastian jumps off the train and stops it from falling off the bridge. It’s all done rather quickly.

So Sebastian has saved the whole trainload of people and everything is solved. Including the ‘Cholera’ which turns out was just a bad mix of food…

Next Claude approaches Sebastian telling him that if he was a true butler he would have stopped the train without spilling anything. I think this might just have been revenge for what he said in the first episode about Claude spilling something on the edge of his plate.

Claude then hands over a letter to Sebastian which appears to be an invite to the Trancy Ball. So it looks like from the next episode on we will have more involvement from them.

For this weeks intermission clips we have the Tarot card for the Wheel of Fortune.

Upright this card means the effortless success, beginning of a new cycle and change. I think this relates the ease of which everything was solved in this episode, the ease of gaining access the Trancy family and the new beginning where both Alois and Ciel will feature in the episodes together.

Reversed this card means unexpected bad luck, interruptions and delays. I think this might also refer to the next episode meaning that something isn’t going to run smoothly. Bit of a build up for the next episode maybe?

Ok my work is finally finished and I have torn myself away from KAT-TUN long enough to type this post. Sorry I’m so far behind >.< .

Alright, episode three has the return of a couple of old characters and a few hints to what has happened and why Ciel is back.

So the plot to this episode is mysterious spontaneous combustion deaths (wow that’s a mouthful). It seems that there had been a few of these types of deaths and Ciel is asked as the Queens Dog to research the cause and solve the mystery. However the letter giving the order says “I shall entrust the cases to my dog and spider” this confuses Ciel as he has never heard of the Spider before. I suspect that his would refer to Alios seeing as in the first episode he made his contract in a room with spiders. Sounds a little weak but I think there is a link.

As usual Ciel heads off into London to investigate the case. However just before he leaves he mentions to Sebastian to not let Madam Red find out about this since he didn’t want her sticking her nose in. This seems odd since she should be dead but Ciel is showing no memory of it. But Sebastian tells him that he shouldn’t worry about her, implying that he really has lost his memory.

When he gets to London he talks to the head of Scotland Yard and confirms that there was infact a case like this before. However there are no records of this.

Just that they know it happened. Ciel decides that they should investigate further but then catches Sebastian off guard. This moment really made me laugh in the episode.

They decided to visit our good old friend The Undertaker. However, heres where I noticed the first thing, Ciel still questions his strangeness and doesn’t seem to ask into further details about the corpse since he should know that The Undertaker is an Ex-Shinigami, however there are no signs of Ciel knowing this.

Ciel visits the victims funeral and they meet the photographer who took the newly wed couples photo. He noticed that the wife of the couple had a similar dust coming off her as that which appeared in the ash of the burnt lady.

He immediatly requests Sebastian to investigate this which leads to them finding out that it is magnesium oxide and that Lau recently sold a large amount of it to the photo studio which they were from, an unnaturally large amount.

They quickly dash off the investigate further, however the Photo Studio is in flames and the wife of the Photographer had gone mad with burning up all her victims using magnesium and the camera as a trigger. She starts a rampage across London when suddenly they run into another familiar face.

Grell has returned, but in that moment when Ciel sees his coat, he can’t place where he had seen it before. Also Ciel doesn’t remember who Grell is or what he is. Sebastian gives a breif explanation while Grell, as usual tries to hit on him.

Ciel chases the lady while Grell lets loose the information that he is here to collect her soul and that she will be dying shortly after midnight, leaving them with not much time to clean up the case. As Sebastian and Grell look for her and Ciel they see an explosion from up in Big Ben, she’s pouring Magnesium out on to the city with the idea to blow it up. Ciel faces her and dodges many attacks aimed at him. In the meantime Grell and Sebastian team up to help stop the lady before she blows up London. Using Grell as a shield they make their way up the side of Big Ben, the lady confused as to why Grell won’t burn. They finally manage to conviscate the camera off her and Ciel tells her to tell him everything she knows. She says that A person told her that if she did this men would love her. When they ask about the person, she answers:

She then burns herself and Grell loses her soul. He is confused as to why this has happened and decideds to go and ask Will about it. Ciel names the case solved but insists

that they continue to search for the ‘Spider’. After the end credits, Sebastian wakes up Ciel to tell him that he had found the identity of the Spider, and my suspicion at the beginning of the Episode was right.

Lastly, todays intermission clips showed the Tarot card, The Hanged Man .

The upright position can mean dedication to a worthwhile cause, a waiting period or sacrificing one thing for another.

The reversed position can mean Loss, lack of commitment and oppression. To be honest, I have no idea what to make of this card in relation to the episode.

Anyway, I’ll try and do the next episode tomorrow, when I get a chance to watch it.

Square Enix will launch an online service for providing manga including Fullmetal Alchemist and Soul Eater in North America and France this autumn. The number of titles and the amount of the charge haven’t been announced yet. Square Enix intends to meet the demand of the foreign readers and to control the pirated scanlations.

I really hope this is a success and that they don’t over charge. As mush as I love the work scanalators do for us non-fluent moonspeak readers. More support for the industry obviously means more and hopefully better shows and manga.
