ICON 1000 Turnbuckle Gloves

Details matter. Color, stitching, design, and protection are all variables that are endlessly discussed in order to produce products that are worthy of our seal. This series is to provide you an inside look at the details that keep us up at night. Details that you may not see at first glance, but after living with will certainly appreciate.
The first product to be featured is our ICON 1000 Turnbuckle Glove; an MX-inspired glove that combines rugged offroad design with onroad manners.
French Cow Leather
French Cow Leather is a Full Grain hide found in all ICON 1000 gloves and is decadence at its finest. Harvested from cattle raised in the fields of France, it is buttery soft to the touch while maintaining a high degree of abrasion resistance.
D3O Impact Protector in Knuckle
The hand has 27 bones. In the unfortunate get off, the hand is the first to bear the brunt of the impact, especially in low speed maneuvers. This is where the importance of impact protection comes in.
D3O is a dual density foam that is flexible when in rest but stiffens upon impact. The result is knuckle armor that can be made thinner and lighter, without sacrificing appearance or protective qualities.
In the ICON 1000 Turnbuckle Glove, the usage of D3O meant we could replicate the look of old-school MX gloves, but with 21st century protection. D3O also helped us slim the profile of the glove, improving comfort.
Bespoke Fit
Fit is crucial to a gloves performance in a crash. Too tight and the rider experiences discomfort and loss of mobility. Too loose and armor moves around too much, or the glove may come off. Here are the aspects that make the ICON 1000 Turnbuckle fit exceedingly well.
Knit nylon finger gussets. These gussets allow an abundance of air into the glove and let the glove conform to your hand better. Providing those small amounts of fit adjustments increases the protective qualities of the glove.
Pre-curved palm and fingers are designed so that the palm does not bunch up when grasping the throttle.
Hook and loop wrist closure allows you to secure the glove as tight as you wish.
Perforated Wrist/Backhand/Thumb increase air flow making the glove more comfortable during warm weather riding.
