On Acting es una joya, un libro necesario para todo actor o estudiante de actuación, una completa introducción a la famosa técnica Meisner. El creador de este método es Sanford Meisner, un visionario (y revolucionario) profesor de arte dramático y mentor de los siguientes actores: James Caan, Steve McQueen, Robert Duvall y Gregory Peck, por mencionar algunos. Antes de continuar tu carrera en el Actors Studio, debes leer este libro .

Acting: Advanced Techniques for the Actor, Director, and Teacher

Another one of my jewels. Spectacular book, unique, great. I have read it and I can assure you that it is one of the best. First, there is a gentleman named Terry Schreiber who devoted much of his life to studying most of the methods of acting in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Two: If you’re curious and do as much research as I do, you’ll surely know that there are some personalities who developed different methods and taught most of the legends of film and theater (Marlon Brando, Robert deNiro, Hoffman, Monroe, etc.). Yes, I know you are similar to these names: Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg. Each had different ways of teaching how to act. Well, this gentleman (Schreiber) compiled the best of each of them and condensed it with those of other great masters of acting. You have a great book here. As if that weren’t enough, we have the prologue of some of your students: Edward Norton :D.

A mi me encanta la actuación y en mucho tiempo he recopilado (y los tenía guardado como oro) libros muy interesantes en la técnica actoral. Pero no solamente me quedé allí, sino que también me interesé por la Dramaturgia y la dirección de Actores. Si llegaste hasta aquí es porque te interesa mucho. Otra de mis joyas. Libro espectacular, único, genial. Ya tenego leído más de la mitad y les puedo asegurar que es uno de los mejores. Primero, hay un señor llamado Terry Schreiber que dedicó gran parte de su vida a estudiar la mayoría de métodos de actuación en EEUU y en otras partes de mundo. Dos: Si eres curioso e investigas tanto como yo, seguro sabrás que hay algunas personalidades que  elaboraron diferentes métodos y enseñaron a la mayor parte de las leyendas del cine y el teatro (Marlon Brando, Robert deNiro, Hoffman, Monroe, etcétera). Si, yo sé que te resultan parecidos estos nombres: Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg. Cada uno tenían formas diferentes de enseñar a actuar. Pues éste señor (Schreiber) recopiló lo mejor de cada uno de ellos y lo condensó con las de otros grandes maestros de la actuación. Tienen todo un gran libro aquí. Quizá lo único malo sea el idioma, pero sé que muchos de ustedes buscarán la forma de leerlo. Por si no bastara más, tenemos el prólogo de unos de sus estudiantes: Edward Norton :D.

Viendo que estamos recibiendo visitas por este tema, he estado investigando sobre este terremoto y me encontré una historia de que un joven se acerco a una señora, el joven le advirtió a la señora que abría un terremoto el día 15 de Agosto de este año antes de la 7 pm. Ahora resulta que hace unos días se acaba de volver aparecer el mismo joven y contó que volverá a suceder otro terremoto de mayor magnitud y que provocara un gran tsunami, al momento de incorporarse la señora, el joven ya había desaparecido.

Solo les recuerdo que los terremotos son sumamente impredecibles, posiblemente se pueda advertir minutos antes de que ocurran pero no días. Veremos que sucede este jueves. ( No hagan caso de los rumores y comentarios, les reitero que es imposible predecir un terremoto)

Les dejo la historia original:

El 1ro de agosto, un joven” se acercó a la amiga de una tia en el jockey plaza y le dijo : que el 15 de agosto iba a haber un terremoto en Ica, minutos antes de las 7pm. Como todos sabemos, el terremoto sucedió (puede haber sido coincidencia); perso sí recuerdo que cuando esta sra nos contó eso, NADIE le hizo caso.. incluyéndome…Anoche se le ha vuelto a aparecer el mismo joven, diciendole que este Jueves 18 de octubre, alrededor de las 3:30pm va a haber un terremoto y tsunami en lima , y que va a ser más fuerte que el de Pisco. Cuando la señora se reincorporó ,el joven ya no estaba.
