52 Weeks - Week 6

I try to take different photos on different days for each project I'm doing but this week really caught up with me and I totally forgot about it. Luckily I had the 10 on 10 this week so I'll be using photos from that day. I didn't share these particular photos but I did share a similar one. These aren't my particular B&W photos but like I mentioned in my 10 on 10 post I'm not very good at editing photos with Haze. I was messing around in LR and decided to add a preset to it. This is more of a "muddy" black and white but I like the way it looks with this particular photo.

This is how Jaslyn usually lounges around the house. I'll dress her up, put jeans, shorts or a skirt on her but towards the end of the day she just takes them off. It's easier to go to the potty that way :) Her hair is getting so long and it's so uneven too. Everyone tells me to trim it but I had told myself before that I wouldn't trim it anymore until she was older, like way older LOL Now i'm having second thoughts. I guess we'll see.

12 years ago I gave birth to the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She was so tiny and very bald :) My first born and my best friend. You've taught me so much and because of you and your siblings, I am the happiest Mom alive. I still remember the day you were born. Everything went so smooth yet you were a week over due. I was young and scared but your birth was so quick. Together we've grown and become closer. I love you so much! We are truly blessed to have a daughter like you. Happy Birthday my sweet Natalie.

This is going to be short and to the point :) I didn't take as many photos this week, my bad!

10 on 10 | February Edition

Today was a pretty laid back day. Didn't do anything at all but I still decided to participate on the 10 on 10 project. Plus not all days are fun and exciting right? The timestamps on these aren't the exact time obviously but it was taken within that hour.

With that said let's move on shall we? :)

8:00am | Jaslyn woke up, I brought her downstairs to watch some TV but instead she found Eric's iPod and decided to play on it. George and I started on breakfast. Actually he made breakfast while I cleaned up the kitchen and living room :)

9:00am | After breakfast, Daddy spent some quality time with Jazzy while I cleaned up the kitchen AGAIN.

10:00am | Daddy read Jazzy a ton of books and even played hide and seek with her. It's always easy to find her because we'll yell "Jazzy where are you" and she'll tell you exactly where she is LOL

11:00am | After cleaning up downstairs I lounged around and watched the movie "Crossroads" with Brittany Spears. I know, I know, lame right? Ehhh, it was ok :)

12:00pm | We all came upstairs. Daddy got ready for work and I gave Jazzy a bath.

1:00pm | Daddy left for work. He started at 1pm. Jaslyn looked through a photo album in her room while I cleaned my room.

2:00pm | Jazzy chilled in my room while I folded some laundry. She loves jumping on my bed. Little Monkey.

3:00pm | It was beautiful out today so Jaslyn and I hung out in our yard. I'm not too fond of photos with haze but this I love :) Don't get me wrong, I love other people's hazy photos, just not mine. I'm not very good at editing haze.

4:00pm | Jaslyn took a nap so I decided to surf the blogger world. I love seeing new blog posts in my reader. So blog on people!! Give me something to read ;)

5:00pm | After feeding the kids and myself, I decided to pour myself a glass of wine. I didn't cook dinner tonight. Made the kids hot dogs and had leftovers from last night. So there you have it. Our exciting day :)

I'm a little late on this weeks post but figured I'd post it anyway. I won't go into much details about each photo but I'll give you a brief caption about it. Last week pretty much consisted in a lot of errands and Dr's appointments. Anyhow, let's begin........

Monday was a beautiful day. A high of 75 degrees. Jaslyn loves spent the evening watching Dora on the iPad before bedtime. Tuesday all 3 kiddos had a Dr's appointment that were all long overdue. Natalie got an immunization shot, while Jazzy got 2. Eric was the only lucky one who didn't. I guess he was up to date. Since they were basically yearly check-ups they had all 3 strip down into their underwear and made them put on gowns. I thought they all looked adorable. George snapped a photo of them. Jaslyn was the only one saying "cheese" Natalie was so embarrassed haha she didn't want to be a part of the photo. Tuesday morning we went shopping, Daddy tried on a few t-shirts while I snapped a pic or two of Jaslyn. I'm doing this february photo a day on Instagram which is actually quite fun. So the last 2 photos above are part of that challenge. Feel free to follow me on Instagram my username is Caress66.

Last week I also received my Sticky Grams. I love the way they turned out. Makes me want to order more. If you haven't heard of them before, they're basically your Instagram photos turned into magnets. You can see the comparison shot above. They print a little on the warmer side but still look good. They had a special last month. By 2 sheets get one free. Here's how they look on my fridge. Eventually I will spread them out.

32 Months Old

At 32 Months old Jaslyn is quite the toddler. She keeps us busy and entertained. She had a doctor's appointment last week. Our little monkey weighs 29 lbs. and is 38 inches. Poor thing got 2 immunization shots. Luckily she didn't get a fever. Her pediatrician asked if she's speaks 25+ words. We said "ohhhh yeahh, and some" She speaks in sentences, she knows her ABC's and recently learned the sound certain letters make. She loves watching the LeapFrog alphabet movie. It's pretty annoying to listen too but hey she's learning! :) She also loves doing "homework" She loves writing on THIS book. It use to belong to Natalie but Jazzy now took over it. She'll say "Mommy I have to do my homework" She hears Eric and Natalie say it all the time so I'm sure that's where she gets it from.

Her favorite sentences at the moment are "What did you say" or "What are you talking about" LOL makes me giggle every time! She's such a little clown :) Her #1 favorite show is Olivia, she also loves Dora, as well as Max & Ruby. She dislikes Dino Dan. As soon as it comes on, she says "I don't like that" or "I don't wanna watch that one" She knows what she likes and clearly lets us know. She recently discovered Celery. She looooooved it. She eats it by itself too. She also loves big chucks of green bell pepper, broccoli and onions in her eggs. She also loves unsweetened iced tea. She also knows that soda is "Yucky" She also loves to dip her chips in mild salsa. Girl can eat!

As you can see, she makes the weirdest faces haha! She likes to act silly in front of the camera.

52 Weeks - Week 5

This week was pretty hectic. I didn't get around to pulling out my camera to take this weeks photo. The hubby and I went to Vegas this weekend and luckily I took a few photos with my phone. So I'll be using these for this weeks 52 weeks shot.

Vegas was fun. It went by too fast that's for sure. We went for an event (Hubby's work related) but we got to do our own thing as well. We're not much gamblers but we do like to play. I played the wheel of fortune slot machine and won $400 bucks!! The hubby lost $100 but then won $160 at the poker table. So we did pretty good. Sunday we watched the Superbowl at the Venetian V Lounge. It was a pretty good weekend. We're still recovering from our trip :) My Sister was kind enough to babysit. Jazzy had a blast, she loves visiting Aunt Rosie.

We stayed at The Flamingo Hotel. They had a lingerie shop. Check out their entrance LOL

Toddlerhood

It's interesting how kids go through so many different stages. Jaslyn loves looking at old videos of herself on my iPad from when she was a baby. She must view them about twice a day. We were all watching them with her and in one particular video which was about a year ago. She was barely learning how to say certain words. She looked so small and so different and it was only ONE YEAR AGO! She's changed so much and speaks a lot more. I keep trying to remember which stage is next? I believe we've already hit the Terrible Two's and I'd like to believe we're surpassed it. But what comes at 3 years old? Whatever it is, I'm excited and eager to see what else she learns along the way. This is the age where they change drastically but hopefully not too much.

Jaslyn and I went out for a walk last week in attempt to snap a few pictures. Little did I know she'd cooperate and let me snap more than a few. I've noticed that as long as she has her baby (which is all the time) she'll let me take pictures of her. She'll ask me to take photos of her baby coming down the slide or sitting on a bench. Of course I pretend and "snap" a few of her baby doll. She loves that. The weather has been so nice around here it's hard to stay indoors. We just want to be out and about before the sun goes down. Which is usually when it starts to get a little cold. As we were walking along the trail in our community Jaslyn found a dandelion. She knows your suppose to blow on it but doesn't quite know how to blow hard enough. She attempted a few times but nothing happened LOL So she ended up shaking it, and this is what I caught on camera........

She tried and tried though, and that's what counts.

If anyone's curious I shot these all with my 85mm at f/1.8 except the ones above of her blowing at the dandelion. I shot those at f/2.5 all at ISO 250. Shutter speed varied between 500 - 1250th of a second and edited in LR3 but resized and sharpened in Photoshop CS3. If you ever want to know my settings just ask away :)

Simple Things Sunday

I love reflecting back on the week and sharing a simple photo that made my week. I've learned that Jaslyn loves being outside and we need to have more play dates out in the open. As long as she has her baby, that's all she needs. She loves taking walks and believe it or not she loves hunting for lizards! LOL She won't get near it once she does scout one but from far she'll yell "Look Mom a lizard!!" then she'll be on the look out for more.

We had such beautiful weather this week and normally I prefer the colder weather but right now I'm loving it. It makes me wish Summer was here. It was 80 degrees today! We spent it with family just lounging around by the pool drinking a few cocktails. Jaslyn spent the entire afternoon swinging with her baby.

Holy Moly! I took a lot of pics this week. This week was a little hectic. A lot of running around that is. As my previous post, Eric had a birthday this week so the hubby and I shopped around for his gift. Natalie's birthday is actually in 2 weeks and they both wanted the same gift for their birthday. An XBOX 360. At first we had mentioned to them that we wouldn't be able to buy that for them since it was a bit too pricey. They both got real sad. Natalie even said "It can be a gift for both of us and you don't have to have a party for us, that's all we want please Mom" I still said No probably not. For sure they weren't expecting it.

Monday I started off my morning with a cup of hazelnut coffee. I took a screenshot of this new game I'm super addicted to. It's called "Scramble with Friends" and I'm not that great at it but slowly I'll get good at it........ i hope. Feel free to start a game with me my username is Sweet Caress. Jaslyn watched the rain through the window. She loves looking out. Tuesday I didn't take any photos but we also didn't do much. Natalie read Jazzy a few stories later in the evening. Tuesday morning i went in Jaslyn's room and she was standing up by the rail, holding her baby waiting for me to get her down. Wednesday I made BBQ chicken on the crockpot. A recipe I found on Pinterest. I know the photo doesn't look all that great but it sure was delcious! The chicken was so tender, it would fall apart just trying to serve a piece. It was a hit.

Thursday the weather was so nice. We've been having some crazy weather that's for sure. It was raining and cold on Monday, somewhat cold on Tuesday and Wednesday and pretty hot on Thursday (79 degrees) Friday was such an ugly day. It was super windy! So we took advantage of the warm weather on Thursday and spent the whole afternoon outside. Later that evening Daddy came home with a gigantic balloon. Jaslyn smiled from ear to ear, she had so much fun playing with it.

Thursday night we took Eric out for an early birthday dinner. That's the first two photos above. The waiter brought him a little piece of cake with 2 candles. Jaslyn helped blow them out. Friday i made him a chocolate fudge cake at home and guess who helped him blow out his candles again?? Yep, Jaslyn! She thought it was her birthday too! :)

9 years ago today I gave birth to the most beautiful boy in the world. He was born with a head FULL of hair. He's the sweetest most loving boy I know. He's touched our lives in so many ways and I am thankful to call him MY Son.

I still remember the day he was born. He was such an easy baby, a cry baby but overall a mellow, happy baby. Everyone loved making him smile. He has the most adorable smile that'll just melt your heart. It was so easy to get him to smile too! We are truly Blessed! We love you Son.

52 Weeks | Week 4

Onto week 4 we go. This is where I'd usually say "Wow, this month flew by" but in fact it felt like forever. It feels like New Years Eve was months ago. I love the month of February! It's probably my second most favorite holiday with Christmas being the first. I'm addicted to buying everything and anything Valentine's day related but I've been pretty good about not indulging. Another reason I'm excited for February is for the movie "The Vow" which is coming out Valentine's day weekend. I already told the hubby he's taking me out for movie/dinner date night! LOL How romantic huh? He's not much of a chic flick kinda guy but he'll go with me. Let's not forget "Breaking Dawn" - Part 1 also comes out on DVD on February 10th I believe. Yes, I love Twilight.....Judge away!

Anyhow onto the photos. I took these on Wed morning as soon as Jazzy woke up. I went in her room and as always she was standing there looking pretty :) Check out that wild bed head. As you can see she's still sleeping in her crib. We've been talking about making the transition to a toddler bed but we just haven't got around to it. She sleeps so well and I'm kinda afraid to ruin that. I just know that she'll be coming to my room in the middle of the night or early in the morning to wake us, I just know it. I know it's time though. She's 2.5 and I think she's ready but are we? When do you think is a good age to make that transition? Her crib turns into a Toddler bed and a full size bed. I think we'll go with a Toddler bed first. What do you think? Thoughts?

The Simple Things

I've been picking up my camera a lot more these days. I just love capturing those moments Jaslyn and her baby have together. The moments she doesn't realize I'm taking her photo. This baby goes everywhere she goes! Poor doll, she's always full of dirt or food stains. She eats, sleeps and plays with her all day long. She's gotten a few new dolls in the past few months but she insists on playing with this one. This particular doll is her favorite baby and no other doll can replace her. She's had her since she was 8 Months old I believe. I blogged about this exact same doll here, here, and here. It's just amazing to see her care for her doll and have conversations with her.

Let's see, what did we do this week? The hubby was off 2 days this week which means quality time of course. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but my hubby works a lot. He works extra hard so that I am able to stay home with our kids. So the days he gets off we like to spend it with the kids and take them out and do fun stuff. We did a lot but like I mentioned in last weeks post. I'm trying to take less photos and enjoy the moment. So here's what I got......

Jaslyn hugging her baby. We went to pick her up at Grandmas House on Monday since she had spent the night, the day before. Grandma put rollers on her hair. The old kind, the ones with no heat. She enjoyed every bit of it. Tuesday she woke up, had breakfast and then she played games on my iPad. It was a cold but beautiful day that day. Wednesday I went to the Gym then to a Dentist appt. Daddy spent quality time with Jazzy, he took her to the park. Later that evening we went to the Yard House to grab a bite to eat. Their Seared Ahi Tuna is the booooooomb! I love that stuff.

Thursday we got Jazzy's new Tiny Toms in the mail. They were a gift from her Uncle Manny. She was ecstatic! This little girl loves shoes, especially pink and sparkly ones :) After putting her new shoes on we headed out to run some errands. I didn't take any photos thereafter. Friday was pretty much a lazy day for us. As you can see I took many photos of her. A few in the morning when she woke up and one more after she took a bath. Our whole week was pretty much chill. Tonight, Grandma is coming over to watch the kids for us. Hubby and I are going to a concert, should be fun :) Have a great weekend everyone!

52 Weeks | Week 3

This week I only took out my camera once. I'm glad I did because these are about the only photos I got of Jaslyn or anyone for that matter. We were hanging out at home, she had just finished eating breakfast and wanted to play on my iPad. She's so good at it too. She knows how to turn it on, unlock it, swipe the pages to find her favorite apps and play on it. As of right now she loves playing on Nick Jr's A-Z and Dora's Sky Writing ABC's . She also loves playing on the Zoo Train app. She has definitely taken over my iPad. Any other apps out there your kids enjoy? I'd love to check them out.

Last week I took this photo of Jaslyn while we were at the park. This little girl loves the swings! Which kid doesn't right? She could swing all day long if she could. I love seeing her happy. Every night when we put her to bed she asks what we are doing the next day, EVERY NIGHT. Most times it's "Mommy, we're going to the park tomorrow" or she'll say "tomorrow we're going shopping??" She just wants to be out and about, doesn't matter where.

I'm learning to enjoy the simple things in life :)

If you haven't noticed yet, I've been taking less and less photos each week. I'm trying to limit myself on taking my phone out and being on it while we're out and about having some family time. I'm sure you know, but Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are all so addicting. I can vouch for that but at the moment that is not what the case is. My current addiction at the moment right now is Instagram. Years from now, I'm sure my kids and hubby will appreciate this addiction :) I love taking photos of everything, especially my kids. I do agree it can be pretty annoying being on your phone all the time instead of enjoying the quality time. But I just can't hold back, look at all these gorgeous shots and faces :) Plus they all secretly love being photographed (except Eric) that kid won't be in a photo if I bribed him with an xbox 360! I admit, he's getting better at it. Anyhow, check out what our consisted of.....

Starting with the top left photo: Jaslyn the photographer, Jaslyn sporting her shiny new glasses, park fun with the kids. We took them out to hit some balls. Baseball season is coming up soon so practice was definitely in need. The sky was beautiful that evening. After the park we went to have dinner. I had myself a delicious drink called a Michelada. It's mexican beer with Clamato, lots of lime and salt. It's soooo goood. Tacos were good too. Then you see Jaslyn watching a movie on Daddy's phone. The following day we went shopping.

FFirst we had a drink since it was happy hour and all. Victoria's secret was our next stop. They had a really good sale going on. They're yearly annual sale that is. Then you see Jaslyn raiding our pantry. She loves that caramel popcorn. Friday Jazzy and I hung out in the patio. It was another gorgeous day. Last but not least I had to snap a photo of my soon to be 12 year old. She's quite the cool girl these days :)

52 Weeks | Week 2

On to week 2 we go. This was from one of our shopping days. Jaslyn loves wearing her glasses everywhere we go. They were a gift from her Uncle Mike. They fit so big around her face but she looks so cute wearing them. She's not shy at all, in fact she loves the attention. As soon as someone stops to tell her something, she stops as almost as if she's modeling them and waiting for them to finish talking about how cute she looks LOL Hubby and I just laugh. We have to keep reminding her to keep walking but to say Thank you at the same time. She's such a little diva.

10 on 10 | January Edition

10 on 10 is another project I'll be doing this year. It's a photo every hour for 10 hours on the 10th day of every month. Kind of like "a day in the life". So this here is the January Edition. Here's what our day consisted of on January 10th. Feel free to follow along. I'd love to see and read your 10 on 10 every month.

Woke up at 9am. Which was great since I have a cold and mild sore throat. My Hubby was off today so he was kind enough to get the kids up and ready for School.

10am: Hubby got started on breakfast. Egg Omelets were on the menu. Yum!

11am: Jazzy got to play games on my phone after eating breakfast.

12pm: Showered, got ready and went to do run some errands.

1pm: Costco was our first stop. Jaslyn insisted in taking her stroller and baby. Check her out, she thinks she's cool. She loves wearing sun glasses......even in the shade LOL

2pm: After Costco we headed to good old Target, where Jaslyn wanted EVERYTHING!

3pm: Went to pick up the kids from School. Jaslyn took a Nap on the way.

4pm: Took the kids to the park. Jaslyn and I went to the playground.

5pm: Natalie, Eric and Daddy played Baseball. Jaslyn and I watched.

6pm: Went to have dinner. TACO TUESDAY!!

7pm: Got home, kids started on homework. George and I watched the Lake Show! Kobe scored 48 pts....Lakers win!

This week went by pretty fast. I didn't really take as many pictures but still got a few.

It's been really warm during the day lately. It doesn't feel like Winter at all. The kids and I have been spending a lot time outside. Eric and Natalie are still on Winter break so I lose track on what day were on. So here's what you see above: Jaslyn hanging out outside enjoying this warm weather. 31 Months Old

Another Month flew by and your now a month closer to your 3rd birthday. It's hard to believe I'll have a 3 year old in just a few short months. Your quite the character. Your Brother, Sister, Daddy and I are having so much fun with you. I know I've said this before but you're becoming more and more of a girly girl. Which is perfectly fine with me. Your Sister wasn't much of a girly girl growing up. In fact, she never played with dolls, didn't like princesses or any of that sort. But you, you're totally different and I love that. Your so in love with anything to do with Princesses. You wear your princess dress and shoes all day long. If anyone touches your hair you get mad. You come to me and say "Mommy he or she messed up my hair" You have daily conversations with your dolls and have lots of tea parties too. Sometimes we even hear you arguing with your baby. If your baby doesn't sit the way you want her to sit, you get mad and yell "Baby!! don't do that" It's the funniest thing. You are so much fun but you can be pretty grouchy too.

Your appetite isn't the same. Lately you haven't been eating as much but the good thing is, your not picky so you'll eat anything and everything. Just not very much of it. You can count to 20 in English and to 13 in Spanish. You've learned a few words in Spanish as well. You know almost all your colors too. You know how to sing your ABC's but don't know which letter is which if I asked you to point one out. We're still working on that. You know how to unlock my iphone and navigate your way into your section of apps. You've also took over my iPad and love playing games on it. Good thing they're educational games because you just love playing with that thing.

It's hard to believe you'll be turning 3 in just a few months. I always say "Next year I'm going to plan your birthday party months earlier" but it's just so hard to come to term with the idea that your getting older. I'm thinking we'll have another party for you since I know once you get older you won't be wanting any birthday parties. I'm excited for you getting older and learning new things but I'm also beyond sad that my little baby isn't no longer a baby but more of a little girl. But........
