* We tried Absinthe for the first time, and I personally believe Vicks created NyQuil to be an Absinthe substitute. I've never liked licorice, but it is not bad after the alcohol (110 Proof) kills your taste buds. The good news is that you can find small 100mL bottles which makes two glasses easily, so that you can try it rather than committing to a 750mL.

// BOOKS
* We bought a copy of Michelle Belanger's PSYCHIC VAMPIRE CODEX which we've meant to get for a while now.

// TRUE BLOOD
* We talked about episode 10 of True Blood, "I Don't Wanna Know".
- Sam does it doggy style. Tara goes over the edge. Bill has to do the unthinkable (for him).
- There's only two episodes left. HBO sent me some spoilers if you are curious.

// TV
* When this first season of "True Blood" ends, is there another TV show you'd like us to discuss on the show?
- Vote in our poll and/or leave us voice mail.
* We also watched part of the 2007 Masterpiece Theatre version of DRACULA which recently re-aired for Halloween.
- I am enjoying the tweaks they have done to the story while keeping the essence alive. It is admittedly a bit distracting because of the differences but still gorgeous and fun.
- I am also very partial to Sophia Myles (Moonlight and Underworld) as Lucy Westenra. Just wonderful.

This is pretty cool. I love picking up relevant web domains, even if managing them all can be tricky sometimes. I recently found that I could register a domain under the TLD of .ES (Spain). I immediately checked to see if VAMPIR.ES was taken, and it is (though parked and not being used by a cyber-squatter.) Then I checked VAMPYR.ES, which WAS available, so I swooped in and snatched it up! Right now, I have it pointing to OutOfTheCoffin.com, but I will eventually do something else with it.

The awesomeness that is Beau Frusetta has created a sweet tweet treat called http://twitrratr.com/. This website lets folks search for terms on Twitter but with the twist of ranking the tweets in a positive, neutral, or negative connotation. This not only lets folks check on trends of terms that might involve them, an event, the election, etc., but can help companies and advertisers see what brands are trending in tweets. In any case, for kicks I tossed it the term "vampire", and here are the results. (It takes a while as you can probably imagine, vampires are hot.)

If what may well go down in history as the most intriguing movie remake, director John Johnson is working on a new vision of Ed Wood's infamous "Plan 9 From Outer Space". It is set to debut 09/09/09 and is an attempt at a serious sci-fi horror movie and not a parody. It should be noted that Ed Wood had the same intention. Personally I believe the original was the best horrible movie ever -- it is the textbook case of what a movie should strive not to be while yet being full of the passion of an eccentric film-maker.

Folks, we hope you enjoyed the weekly batch of podcasts this month. We'd hoped to not only have a new episode for you this week but also a bonus episode for Hallowe'en. However, Michelle was sick last week and I have been sick this week, so it did not happen.

"The Dark Path Chronicles" revolves around a young vampire just awakened from hibernation and a teenage girl who hears voices who together explore a parallel reality. * LILITH UNBOUND, an anthology edited by prolific fantasy author Elaine Cunningham.
- Chock full of excellent short stories about the dark goddess, Lilith, mother of vampires, succubi, and all things that go bump in the night.
- For the curious, I wrote a short story entitled "Agony" with the intention of submitting it for this anthology, however it was not long enough to meet the minimum requirements. Then I ran out of time to either expand it or write a new story to submit. As it stands though, it is one of my favorite glimpses of my muse, and it is likely to end up in my next book. We may read it on pod soon for you all to hear.

* VAMPIRE ZERO, by David Wellington, which is the third book in the series preceded by 13 BULLETS and 99 COFFINS.
- You can get your first taste of the story free because David released 13 BULLETS as a serialized novel on his blog in 2006 before it was picked up and published by Three Rivers Press in 2007.
