Wicker chairs collect a lot of dust between the reeds and may appear darker in those places.  A cloth may not reach between the reeds.  Therefore, a handled antistatic duster or a feather duster would be ideal.  Wood chairs can be gently dusted daily and wiped every couple of days with a sponge dipped in very mild sudsy water.  Take care not to rub off the sealant.  Occasional sealing and varnishing will restore the shine of wood chairs.
