New Nightmare On Elm Street Trailer

There's a trailer for the new Nightmare On Elm Street at Fear.net. I don't know the link off hand to post here, you'll have to go there and find it. The movie looks dumb to me. The Freddy Kruger looks like a burn victim that received skin grafts. Dumb.

Halloween 2007

I picked up the special Halloween 2007 3 disc edition this past Saturday. I watched almost all of disc 2 and about half of disc 3 (the 4.5 hour making of). The version of the film on disc 1 had some stuff I hadn't seen before which was cool. Looking forward to seeing H2.

My horror movie buddy Paul yesterday told me they're doing a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street. I am getting old since I remember when the original came out.

What a great remake/retooling of the original Friday the 13th film. I was expecting a weak story with plenty of blood and guts but the story was better than I thought it would be.

My Bloody Valentine - 3D

They did a great job with the 3D in the new release of "My Bloody Valentine 3D". The story was pretty good too. The glasses were unexpectedly a stronger plastic rather than the cardboard with blue and red lenses.

Seems they are catching on too, the 3D films that is. There was the stop motion flick "Coraline" and now the other one "Monsters Vs. Aliens" coming out. Too Cool.

Terror Behind the Walls

Eastern State Penitentiary runs a great haunted house called "Terror Behind the Walls" in Philadelphia, PA. This year was my first time there but the crew of friends I went with were there last year as well. It was a great haunted house; the staff did an outstanding job on the setup and running it. I was plenty scared walking through the halls of the prison through all their setups and themed scenes.

They have people bussed in by the hundreds to see it. All the proceeds go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the actual prison. Check both out at:

Shark Fin Soup

Illegal fisherman are taking 70,000,000 shark fins per year killing that many sharks. This is decimating the entire shark population in the oceans which account for an entire ecosystem. If you're eating anywhere in the world and you see shark fin soup on the menu, please don't eat at that restaurant. If we don't buy it, they won't make it!

Fangoria Weekend of Horrors!

Boone and I attended this year's Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in Secaucus, NJ on Saturday June 21. The last one I went to 4 years ago stuffed the movie stars in rooms where everyone would line up out the door and down the hall way to meet them and get autographs. This time you'd be wandering through the vendors' tables and suddenly one would be sitting right there! We saw Kristina Klebe and Ken Foree from Rob Zombie's Halloween, George A. Romero from every great Zombie film ever made, and the cast from the original Night of the Living Dead from 40 years ago.

The vendors where much lighter than the first convention I went to (about 1/5 of what they were) and I was looking forward to much more selection in horror paraphernalia. Other than that the show was great and I can't wait for next year's.

Laying Low

I found out from my horror movie buddy, Boone, that the version of Halloween that I have is different than the version he saw in the theater.

Rob Zombie Halloween 2007

I watched Rob Zombie's latest horror masterpiece "Halloween" yesterday. From the previous sentence you can guess that I enjoyed it.

He didn't merely rehash the old movie which I've seen done countless times before. I consider it a completely new movie especially with the extensive back story on Michael Myers and family. Rob Zombie really good at making you feel bad a side with the bad guy sometimes and then look at the same villain 10 minutes later and be scared to death of them.

I can't wait for the DVD release to get it.

Horror Movie Buddy

I'm about to call my buddy who lends me great horror movies to tell him he created a monster. By lending me 'Corpses' and 'Rejects' which I've watched about 100 times each, I need to pick them up for myself since I'll be returning them to him next weekend.

Corpses vs. Rejects

I'm watching the Devil's Rejects for the XTeenth time and I'm comparing Otis Driftwood to himself in the prequel. He seems a lot more "stable and normal" in Rejects rather than his preachy whacked out self in Corpses. I'm not saying the things he does in Rejects is "stable and normal" I'm just referring to his behavior.

Also, what happened to Grampa??

Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Leatherface

When are they coming out with Freddy vs. Jason vs. Leatherface? Here's another thought - Freddy and Jason are already screwed up in the head but what if we lock the two in the cabin from the movie "The Evil Dead" and let the demons get them both.

Would they kill each other or go after folks even more crazily than their pre-possessed days? Also, when the women from "The Evil Dead" were occupied by the evil spirits they became all scary looking and monster-like.

Freddy and Jason already have this trait so what would they transform into?
