Min.us - Site Review

Min.us is not just another image uploading site. Well, it IS but it's actually one step cooler than PhotoBucket, TinyPic and the rest. What makes this site better id the face that there's no upload button or any OS dialogue box to search for your image. You simply drag n' drop your image(s) into the browser and they get uploaded. That's it. When you upload one or more photos it automatically makes galleries and to add more images to a gallery, you go in that gallery and simply drag n' drop again.

It's just that simple, really.

A Short "Review" Of Sonic 4, Episode 1

I have to say that I haven't beaten the game but, I guess I can still post a thought about it anyways.
Let me start off by saying this quick gamer logic epiphany I had some days ago. How is this Sonic 4 when it's really Sonic 5? Are people overlooking Sonic & Knuckles? I mean, it did come after Sonic 3 continuing off the storyline, if you want to call it that. But, I guess because they don't officially label it as the 4th, it's not the 4th. Meh.

The main question is: Is it worth the money?
Most of... Well, everything is like a rehashed, HD remixed version of the originals. You don't have to be a Sonic fanboy/girl to know what levels they are based on. Some levels you have to almost figure out some kind of puzzle that you'll end up Googling a solution for. A good example is in Lost Labyrinth Zone 2. I would say what it is but... Spoil, I shall not do. The special stage I have stated are a bitch to do unless your controller power level is over some ridiculous high number. Way different than in Sonic 1 because you control the board, you have to collect a set number of rings to unlock the little ring gate, and it's timed (video). The controls are a little tricky (at least for me on the PS3). Meaning the homing attack seemed like it would sometimes work on time and sometimes it would be off a bit.

So, is it worth the money? Ummm... Yeah. Only because most of these new Sonic games are either shitty or just bad ideas from the start like Sonic and the Secret Ring and Sonic and the Black Knight. Sonic Unleashed has it's moments but the Wii version = shitty.
Anyways, that's my input. You may say different, you may say the same, or you may say the same differently... Lolwut?

What I Hate About Sonic 4

So far it's the bonus stage.
Remember in Sonic 1 how you had to navigate Sonic in that LSD like stage for the Chaos Emerald? Well, Sonic 4's stage is like that but YOU control the STAGE. I mean, one would have to get used to it but it's too bothersome. Not sure about on the Wii and the 360 but on the PS3 you can move the stage with the control stick/D-pad or the controller itself. And just when you thought it's over... It's timed AND you have to collect a certain number of rings to get into a section of the stage.

The rest of the game, I think is good but, I'll have to play it more for a better thought of it.

My Thoughts On The L4D/L4D2 "The Sacrifice" DLC

I feel like this and my opinion(s) may differ from yours but this is what I think after playing it just now. It's an ok campaign. I loved playing with the old L4D characters but it was a bit short. Then again, I guess you really don't need like 4-5 maps to tell the story that left off in the L4D2 "The Passing" DLC. I feel it's best played on L4D2 more than L4D because you get the new Special Infected. Some of the achievements are something you more likely have to plan out to get or have your friends help in a private VS. game. I haven't played the "TAAANNNKK!" mutation but from what I saw from some of the broadcasters I watch on Justin.tv... It's a real bitch. Unless you're a pub then you may have a chance to survive to the safe room. One drawback I wish Valve did was allow you to play the L4D2 characters in the No Mercy campaign but I guess the community made map will have to do for me. Again, I'm not saying it's a bad DLC. It's ok for me.

Another PSP On The Rise?

I was reading an article in GameInformer Magazine (you can also read it and see a mock up image here) that Sony was showing their publishing partners the new PSP that could be coming soon. Similar to the Go, it will have the sliding screen. The new things added are that it will have Flash storage, touch controls on the back of the system (and I assume the screen will be too) and will double as a smartphone by running the Android OS software.

My thoughts on this is it would seem like a smart investment in this day of age in tech as we have phones that just about do everything including playing games. To have a pocket game system that can run a phone software could reverse the look of a phone OS on a game system. How cool would it be to be on your PS3 and take a phone call within the system while you're playing a game? The question I have is with Android being the first, will other cell phone service providers come forth and join in? The bigger question is when this PSP comes out, will someone figure out to "hack" it and run the iPhone's iOS on it? Well, of course someone will. That was a silly question.

New @TweetDeck. What's New?

Yes, there's a new TweetDeck called the "User stream preview". Came out only a couple of days ago but you'd think there's no difference, right? WRONG! The reason for the name is because what they did is made it so the All Friends column updates just as on Twitter. I have to admit that I like this new way to get my Tweets. I barely had to hit the reload button other than for DM's. Oh, if only TweetDeck could had done that from the start.

Oh, the shock don't stop there. Just today, I posted a link and someone favored it. Why am I bringing that up? Well, because that seems to be a new feature too. When someone marks a tweet by you as a favorite, it will show up in your Mentions column. As far as I know, that's all of the new things i spotted in this version.

FYI: If you didn't know, if you enter a YouTube or Flickr link, it will give you the YouTube/Flickr custom short URL rather than the short URL service you have it set to use.

Tumblr And Twitter Make A Wombo Combo

We all use Twitter and the many sites that help us send certain things to our friends/followers but do you really want to open multiple page after page logging in just to shorten a wordy update, share photos, video, and audio? I use these sites but the main one I use is Tumblr.

Tumblr, if you don't know already, is a site that is a free online blogging site that anyone can join. You can post text, links, videos (upload or embeds), photos, audio, and even conversations. Plus, you can also use the themes or make your own custom theme using CSS. Fun time for all. So, what makes Tumblr and Twitter a "Wombo Combo" you might be asking?

In the settings, they allow you to send a link of your post to your Twitter. Now, the great thing is you can @reply someone in your post and if you have it set so it will post your link to your blog. Now, if you plan to type a looooong post or a big rant, next to the "Send to Twitter" checkbox there's an edit link. Click that and you can edit the output to Twitter as if you was posting on Twitter. Becareful not to remove the "[url]" for that will make the shortlink to your post. Without it, you wasted your post.

A Hint In The Steam

If you seen the homepage of Steam, then you saw this little banner about how to join the new Steam UI beta and all the details. What I'm posting this is the Valve icon in there. If you been reading about it, Valve is supposed to be porting most of their games to the Mac with a Steam Mac client starting with Portal 2. What I'm wondering is is the icon a preview of what the Dock icon for Steam will look like?

With Valve announcing that a Mac client was coming in April, we Steam gamers have only 15 days, from today, left in this month. Steam even had a Mac beta signup page but not sure how they are picking people or even if they sent out "invites" for the Mac beta yet.
