2. The Artist - Every month our entire team focuses on bringing high quality acts with great stage presence and impactful music. The artists bring their full energy and passion to the stage and they never disappoint.

3. The energy/love! Everyone that comes to SIC Sundays is there for the love. Be it the love of their particular artists, a love of the music, a love of the culture, or the love of the party. We come to party comfortably and have a relaxed dress code so you can come and hang being fully yourself and expressing your true unique style. Everyone is attentive and accepting. The love keeps the energy at SIC Sundays very high and after every show I am on an adrenaline rush for at least the next few hours. And that usually spills over to an after party or 2 haha!

I would like to salute my lil sister DJ Mos Precious. I have the honor of calling her my sister. She works hard and really puts on for her city of St. Louis and all artists she believes in. This month we have the privilege to recognize her and celebrate her birthday along with her as she brings her birthday celebration to #SICSundays! I for one am excited and hope that you will come share in the celebration. She has assembled a dope lineup of some of her favorite artists to showcase. Its an action packed lineup in a very festive atmosphere this month. I encourage everyone to come out and meet this very special young lady and help her celebrate her special day.

I'm going on an Indiana Invasion!

This weekend I will be rocking out at a couple shows in Indiana. Friday night you can catch me in Hartford City.

Saturday night I'll be making a trip back New Haven to rock again as well!

Cool thing about this run is that you will probably catch me in triple threat mode, I'll do a little hosting and a little djing in addition to the live show that fans have come to expect from P1.

How I Got to the Dance Championships in Orlando!

As I sit by the pool reflecting on my trip to Orlando I ran by this quote and thought how this applied to my life.

How did I get to Orlando? I was asked to make a mix for a Pom/Cheerleading team competition. This was something I had never done or even remotely thought about. It has to do with music so of course I said yes. Then I started listening to Pom mixes and how they are structured. After listening to those I realized I might be way in over my head. I had committed to doing it and it was for the kids so I tried. The fort few attempts were extremely frustrating to say the least. I was beating myself up and could only think about how far over my head I was in. I kept plugging away though. Especially because the coach was on me.

The first draft of mix 1 I did I was pretty happy about. Then I was asked to make 4 more mixes!!! Yikes! The first mix if I had to put a round number to it probably took me 15 hours to get a satisfactory 1.5 minute mix. So now multiply that by 3. How am I going to do this I thought to myself. The next three mixes were simpler but time consuming nonetheless because I was doing things I had never done before. I was learning my programs and working my technology in ways that I didn't know it could be worked. A lot of my time was spent not mixing but reading manuals and figuring out techniques o help me capture the sounds in my head and translate them to the technical mix.

Fast forward I finish all these mixes and the team competes, and asks for edits! Now in addition to figuring out how to make these mixes now I have to edit them without destroying them or having to start over. This was more difficult than I thought, (or you would think it should be). We got through the edits. Very slowly and frustratingly because seemingly every mix needed some small element or change and the coach reminded me daily. Grrrr!!!

Mind you this started as a volunteer project to make one 1.5 minute dance mix. Now I'm upward of 75 hours into this thing with exactly $0 of compensation. Although I did get some food and drinks. At this point I'm justifying walking away from the project because I have fulfilled my commitment. The coach was still calling me for tiny changes and honestly I was irritated and again ready to put the entire project down.

Just at that moment, she called and I had fixed in my heart and mind to tell the coach that I would no longer work on the project. I answered the phone kind of irritated and and ready to go into my spiel about the gotta I had spent with no compensation, and etc etc etc. I asked quite flippantly what do you need now?

She replied I need to know if you would like to come to Orlando with the team for a national competition. Wow!! Travel room board, all I had to do was pay for my Disneyworld ticket. I excitedly agreed. Then the catch came I had to do one more mix. But all expense paid trip...to me was worth it. Plus the now 100 frustrating hours that I had put in had prepared me to make this next mix way better and way faster. I honestly didn't even realize or think about any of the progress i made and how much I had really learned through this experience. So long story short the next mix got done, we came to Florida, won 1st place overall and the rest is history!! And I ended up with a free Disneyland ticket as well.

Moral of the story: try it do it and put your heart into it. You will get rewards, skills, and other opportunities that you never imagined. I did, and I'm extremely grateful!

I Feel Bad Shirts...The Backstory and the Video

The I Feel Bad t shirts came about the day of the video shoot! From conception to print it all happened in less than 10 hours. I was actually out in Fort Wayne Indiana partying with DJ Polaris at the Music Lover's Lounge event the night before the video shoot back outside of Chicago. I did not have any wardrobe for the video and decided to visit the mall in Ft. Wayne to put something together. I started out with the hat of course wanted a P hat to rock in the vid and found the Pacers joint pictured here.

So after looking for different shirts to match or something that i could put together i passed a t shirt making kiosk in the mall. My friend suggested getting a custom shirt. I thought it was a good idea but i totally had no design and they didn't have any templates that were appealing to me. I decided to give my buddy BFM a call and let him know what i wanted. @babyfacemonster does a lot of my design work for my flyers mostly make sure you check him out. After talking to him he told me give him 20 minutes and he would have something to me.

I was still in Ft. Wayne and the custom shop would take 20 mins or so per shirt...so i decided to get back on the road and call my homie Bangghz! Talked to Bangghz and he agreed to open up the shop and print the t shirts as soon as the design came through. Make sure you check him out at http://archivedup.com/ they have a wide variety of print and design services and they get it done very quickly as you can see.

BFM sent me back 3 proofs and i picked the one you see here and we were off to the races. I had him and Bangghz talk directly and Bangghz told me they would be ready by 7pm. Video shoot was set for 10pm. I got to Archive Duplication at 9pm and the T shirts were there folded literally hot off the press.

I didn't tell anybody that i was bringing the shirts hell i really did not have time to tell anyone that i had them pressed up. Thats how the shirts came about. so big ups again to my partners Babyface Monster (chi-bangerz.com) and Bangghz (archivedup.com) for getting me out the jam! Get you a shirt too! Click here.

As evidence from his official album release party, the crowds of #Phanatics are growing! The #VINTAGEPHE Release Party was a historic night for rapper, P1 and for the Chicago hiphop community. Super-producer kept the crowd entertained with a crazy sense of humor. The night progressed with a slew of performances from hiphop's elite spitters from Chicago and STL.

The climax of the evening was P1's headline performance to a packed and screaming crowd! He rocked songs from the new album "Still Aint Quitin", "Stole My Bike", What's In This Weed" and "Coming Up". The footage was shot for Chicago TV show "Underground 321". Grab the album below!!!
